Chapter 91 The Result of the Discussion

Chapter 91 The Result of the Discussion

The situation reached a stalemate again. The eldest uncle still looked utterly pathetic, while Shen Qing kept her head down and remained silent, letting her mother take the lead. A calculating glint flashed in Meng Fan's eyes.

Jinran, taking a holistic view, realized that everyone involved was a scheming individual!

Grandpa Shen and Grandma Shen remained silent. Jinran moved her body slightly excitedly. This was too interesting. Grandma Shen thought Jinran was scared, so she held her hand to comfort her.

Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother said coldly with a sullen face, "What, is your family trying to be a rogue? Let me tell you, you're dreaming. Either you give us the money, or your two children will both go to jail."

Shen Qing's expression changed.

The aunt angrily retorted, "Bullshit! What does this have to do with my son? Your daughter's affair is because she cheated on me. I'll sue her first, and then we'll see who's at fault."

Now it was Meng Fan's turn to change his expression.

At this point, I have to commend my aunt; she was surprisingly quick-witted. She's got the answer.

Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother was silent for a moment, then opened her mouth and said, "You think you can just say whatever you want? Where's the evidence? Even if your daughter saw it, I'd say she framed me."

Shen Qing said slowly, "Then let's call the police. This isn't the first or second time they've had this kind of thing. There must be some clues. Our family isn't afraid. Originally, I was willing to marry Huang Zhiqing out of pity, but you're asking for such a high dowry. Our family can't afford it even if we sell everything we own. And Meng Fan, don't you have anything to say?"

Meng Fan was listening intently when the conversation suddenly turned to him. He was a little confused, but the male lead is the male lead.

He quickly realized what was happening and said, "I had always kept my distance from Huang Zhiqing, but her behavior was outrageous. It not only damaged my reputation but also ruined my wedding. My fiancée is still in jail. You can ask around. I am truly innocent."

Huang Yuanyuan's father and stepmother were at a loss for what to do. This was not what they had agreed upon. They thought they would get a piece of the pie, but who knew it would turn out like this.

Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother said unhappily, "You're locals, how can we find out if you're covering for my child? My child is unconscious right now, we've really suffered in silence. How about this, we can discuss the bride price, how much can you offer?"

Shen Qing coldly replied, "Fifty yuan, not a penny more."

Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother shouted loudly, "What did you say? Fifty? Do you think this is a store? You're still haggling here! Five hundred yuan, if you take even a penny less, I'll make a scene. I'm not afraid. Anyway, we're not from here. You're going to live here. If you really make a big fuss, it won't do you any good."

Jinran saw Shen Qing glance at Meng Fan, and Meng Fan nodded slightly.

Shen Qing then spoke: "Alright, but this matter is over. You should sign the papers, and Huang Yuanyuan will have nothing to do with your family from now on."

Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother gave a fake smile and agreed, while Huang Yuanyuan's father remained silent throughout, as if he were trading a puppy rather than his own daughter.

Aunt was about to say something when Uncle stopped her, glaring at her and signaling her to shut up. Uncle then turned and glanced at Meng Fan.

Meng Fan kept his head down, so his expression was not visible.

However, Jinran had a gut feeling, like a little animal, that the male lead was about to turn evil.

They must have made some kind of deal in private, otherwise Uncle and Shen Qing wouldn't be looking at Meng Fan like that.

It wasn't until Shen Qing and Meng Fan went out and returned that Jin Ran saw Shen Qing take out a thick stack of money, and only then did she realize that the money was taken by Meng Fan.

Indeed, if this matter escalates, Meng Fan will suffer the greatest loss. In this day and age, as long as it's said to be hooliganism, it's a serious crime. They would rather arrest the wrong person than let them go, and they won't give them any chance to explain.

But this money is a bit too much. Oh dear, if a man is lustful, it really hurts him both physically and financially!

But seeing my aunt's pained expression was really funny. She looked like a ticklish spot that had been touched when she was angry, baring her teeth in pain.

After receiving the money, Huang Yuanyuan's stepmother and biological father signed the papers and immediately got up and left.

The eldest uncle said goodbye to Grandpa Shen and Grandma Shen, and then left with his entourage.

Jinran watched as Grandpa Chen puffed on his pipe, one puff after another. She quickly advised, "Grandpa, please stop smoking. You'll cough again. Wait for me to go up the mountain and see if I can find any autumn pears. I'll make some pear syrup for you when I get back. That stuff is good for your lungs."

Grandpa Shen obediently put down his pipe and said with a smile, "Alright, I'll be waiting for Nini's filial piety."

Grandma She laughed too, and they pretended that what had just happened hadn't happened.

Jinran asked Grandma Chen if there was any heavy work to do at home, so she could help with some.

Grandma Chen smiled and shook her head, saying, "No, your eldest sister has finished everything. She's even put out the laundry to dry."

Jinran then gave up, chatted for a few more minutes, and then leisurely went home.
