Chapter 68 The Furniture Has Arrived
Jinran sighed in the car. Luckily, the car hadn't malfunctioned. Otherwise, if she had stepped on the gas and fallen into a ditch, she would have lost all face.
As they approached the village entrance, Jinran found a secluded spot, stored the car in her spatial storage, and found that the sky was already beginning to lighten. Fortunately, there was no one on the road.
Jinran didn't change her clothes. Just in case, she didn't go home first, but went straight up the mountain. She found a secluded corner deep in the mountains and entered her spatial dimension.
Jinran sorted out what she had gained that evening, looking at the ancient books and paintings with feigned appreciation for a long time, then smacked her lips and said, "I didn't look at them."
Then, like a nouveau riche, she put jade around her neck and on her hands. She knew these things were very expensive, and the better the quality, the more expensive they were.
As for the rest of her knowledge, she only had a superficial understanding.
Jinran had her fill of admiring it, so she packed everything up. Thinking about tonight's deal, she was tempted to take another risk.
There was simply too much grain in the country, and after the reform and opening up, grain was no longer a scarce commodity. That changed the price entirely.
It's not that it's worthless, it's just that it's not as valuable as antiques, gold, or jade.
Jinran thought about it and decided to take the plunge. You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub.
But we'll have to wait and see. Let's wait and see what happens.
Jinran changed into her usual mountain clothes, carried a basket, and slowly walked home. She hadn't come empty-handed; she'd even released a wild rabbit along the way. She was waiting for the old man who was delivering goods today.
When I got home, there were already people carrying hoes and heading to the fields.
Seeing Jinran, she greeted her with a smile, "Nini, you're up really early! You've already come back from the mountain? You're so diligent."
Jinran simply smiled and greeted them, then headed home without saying much.
"Look at other people's kids, they've already finished their work and come back early in the morning. And look at mine, still lying in bed. They're so spoiled."
Some agreed, while others felt that those who were losing money should be observant and work hard.
Jinran was unaware of all this; she was trying to reason with Doujin and Fugui.
"I know I've been gone for a while, and I thought I'd be back soon. Next time, I'll definitely put you all in that place and take you with me, okay?"
"Woof woof~" You're just kidding me!
"Meow~~" Even a dog wouldn't believe what you're saying.
Jinran: ".............." If that's what you think, there's nothing I can do!
The person, the dog, and the cat were locked in a stalemate until Jinran finally softened and coaxed them gently, "You two can eat as many cans of food as you want today, I won't limit you, okay?"
"Woof woof~~" It's a deal.
"Meow~~" I'm not so easily appeased.
Jinran resigned herself to her fate, saying, "That's the situation. Fugui, if you don't agree, let's break up!"
"Wealth and prosperity"???
"Meow~" Okay, okay, don't do it again next time~
Jinran was secretly pleased with herself; she was well-versed in the scumbag quotes from novels.
That's exactly what I wanted!
Not long after Jinran finished breakfast, the old man arrived with his son, pushing furniture.
The old man was a kind-hearted man and offered to help Jinran put her things in the right place. Jinran didn't help, but she still thanked him and handed the wild rabbit to the old man.
The old man and his son's eyes lit up; this looked so novel, it made their mouths water just thinking about it.
Before leaving, the old man said, "Little girl, if you ever need anything in the future, just tell me, and I'll keep an eye out for you and save the best for you."
Jinran quickly thanked him and said that she would go to the county to see her parents every month, and then go to chat with the old man.
The old man explained his working hours, then placed the rabbit on the cart, covered it up tightly, and left.
The people left, the goods arrived, let's get to work. First, let's dust off these pieces of furniture. Just then, Grandma Chen arrived.
"Nini, I saw someone pushing a cart full of things coming towards your house?"
Jinran put down the rag and welcomed Grandma Shen in.
“The furniture I bought from the scrap yard was all old, but it was still made of good wood and it was cheap. It was perfect since I had nothing in my house, so I bought it.”
Grandma Shen examined it carefully, then praised, "It's a good product, not bad at all."
Jinran smiled and said, "Grandma, I bought this cabinet for you. Didn't you always say that you have to get out of bed to get a drink of water at night? This cabinet is placed by the kang (heated brick bed), so you can reach it easily at night. Plus, these drawers can hold things like needles and thread. It's very convenient."
Grandma Shen looked at Jinran with affection and said softly, "How come my Nini is so sensible! She even remembers what I said casually."
Jinran chuckled and then said, "Grandma, I'll bring it to you later. I'm strong."
Grandma Shen smiled and nodded in agreement.
