Chapter 15

After hearing Fu Changling's words, Qin Yan did not ask about the other party's identity, but only asked: "Are you sure?"

"Yes." Fu Changling nodded, "Don't worry, he's a good man."

Qin Yan frowned when he heard this. He seemed to want to ask something, but finally took back all his words.

The two of them walked all the way back to the Wu Mansion without speaking a word.

Fu Changling kept thinking about the person's appearance and the pair of eyes.

They really look alike, just like Yan Ming, whom he dreamed about day and night when he was young.

He knew Yan Ming was in the secret realm, but he didn't hold out much hope. After all, if he were to be reborn again, perhaps some things would change. He didn't expect Yan Ming to be there, and he would actually meet Yan Ming.

Meeting Yan Ming again had left him feeling a bit emotionally confused. After returning to the Wu residence, he said goodbye to Qin Yan, turned off the lights early, and went to bed. They each went to sleep.

But he did not fall asleep. He listened to Qin Yan's breathing, took out the jade pendant in the middle of the night, and stroked the name on it.

Looking at the name, he thought of the wind and snow in his youth, and the person in the wind and snow.

Yan Ming was the first person who treated him well without asking for anything in return when he was young.

When Fu Changling thought of that time, a smile appeared on his lips.

He remembered that he had just been betrayed by his stepmother, fell into the Xuanji Secret Realm, and became blind. He was rescued by Yan Ming at the most difficult time.

When Yan Ming first rescued him, he was actually quite scared. He didn't know how long Yan Ming would protect him. He had learned from Yan Ming that this was the Xuanji Secret Realm. Although he had never been there, he had heard of the dangers. He was grateful that Yan Ming was willing to save him, and he wouldn't be surprised if Yan Ming abandoned him.

But it is one thing to figure it out, but people are always worried about a hopeless future.

So during those days, he did his best to please Yan Ming and tried to help him in all ways he could.

But he was really a waste at that time.

He couldn't say anything to cheer Yan Ming up, and his magic power was very low.

He couldn't help in any way, so he kept thinking that Yan Ming would definitely abandon him, but it was just a matter of time, whether it would take one, two, or three days.

Because of this, he always tossed and turned at night.

One night, Yan Ming suddenly asked him, "Why don't you sleep?"

Fu Changling was just hesitating whether to tell him when he felt Yan Ming lean over. He took his hand, placed it on his chest, and asked him calmly, "If you have any concerns, you can write it down here and tell me."

He held his hand, and Fu Changling could feel the calluses on his hands from long-term sword practice and the temperature on his hands that was like frost and snow.

Fu Changling trembled slightly, and then he heard Yan Ming say gently: "Don't be afraid, just tell me."

He didn't move. After a long time, he finally told Yan Ming, stroke by stroke, on his chest: "You will abandon me."

After finishing, he added three more words, seemingly finalizing his own ending: "I will die."

Yan Ming didn't say anything. After a long moment, Yan Ming said calmly, "I said I would get you out, and I won't abandon you. If you're worried about this, you don't have to be."

"I'm useless."

Fu Changling wrote on his chest again: "I can't help you."

"It doesn't matter."

Yan Ming said calmly: "You don't have to help me, you just need to be yourself."

"I saved you because it's my duty. You don't need to do anything."

These were words Fu Changling had never heard in his life.

He grew up in the Fu family, the most prestigious sect in Yunze. He is the eldest son of the Fu family, but he is an illegitimate child.

He had no mother, so in order to survive and live a decent life, he could only carefully please everyone around him. His father, his stepmother, even his younger siblings, uncles...

Because of the flattery, he was used to smiling all year round. That was the first time someone told him - you just need to be yourself.

After saying this, he felt a little tearful and embarrassed. He lowered his head, his hand still on the man's chest. His throat was choked and painful. He wanted to say something to ease the atmosphere, but found that he couldn't say anything.

At this extremely embarrassing moment, Yan Ming raised his hand and placed it on his shoulder, saying in a very normal tone, "Go to sleep, I'm here."

It was probably at that moment that the young man's love first blossomed and took root.

That night, he didn't sleep. He just kept waiting. When Yan Ming fell asleep, he reached out his trembling hand and touched Yan Ming's face carefully.

He touched the corners of his eyes, the tips of his eyebrows, the bridge of his nose, his lips, and his jaw.

He used his fingertips to describe this person. He wanted to know what this person looked like. He hoped that one day in the future, if they met again, he would be able to recognize at a glance that this person was Yan Ming.

From then on, he began to inquire about Yan Ming's background, but Yan Ming rarely mentioned it. He vaguely talked about some of his past, but it was not enough to let people know who this person was.

Sometimes when he talked to Yan Ming about going out, Yan Ming never responded.

They explored the rules of the Xuanji Secret Realm. Back then, Fu Changling hadn't gained the experience he would later receive, nor the luck he has today. The two of them wandered around like flies, knowing nothing except that if they couldn't comprehend the rules during the monthly sacrifice, they would die. They wandered the town many times, and a few days before the sacrifice, Qin Yan finally found some clues. He snatched a magical instrument called the Gathering Spirit Tower, which could provide the caster with a constant supply of spiritual power, briefly enhancing their abilities.

For the sake of this magical artifact, they were chased all the way out of town by those guarding it. Outside the town, it was icy and snowy. Yan Ming dragged him along as he ran furiously. Halfway through, Yan Ming suddenly pushed him aside. He stumbled and tumbled down the slope, clutching the Spirit Gathering Pagoda. Then he heard someone chasing Yan Ming away. He crawled out of the ice and snow, feeling his limbs frozen by the wind and snow. He felt stiff and his heart was cold.

He hugged the Spirit Gathering Tower and felt scared, especially scared.

This fear was not because he couldn't see, not because he couldn't speak, and not because he might die in this vast land. Rather, it was because he didn't know whether a person lived or died, didn't know when a person left, and couldn't do anything for that person's life or death.

That was the first time he felt a deep-seated powerlessness. That feeling of powerlessness made him stand up. He climbed up the slope, then lay on the ground, rubbing the ground inch by inch, and crawling forward along the footprints he felt.

He didn't know how long he had been climbing, nor how long the road was. He didn't think about anything, nor did he dare to think about anything. He just felt that if he couldn't find that person, he would keep looking until he died.

So he tried hard to make "ah, ah, ah" sounds while groping forward, until finally, a hand suddenly held his hand.

The man seemed to have been buried in the snow. His hands were as hard as stone, and it seemed extremely difficult for him to hold Fu Changling.

Then he called out hoarsely, "Changling."

After a brief moment of shock, Fu Changling quickly reached out to touch the man. He felt that the man was almost buried in the snow. He hurriedly reached out to push the snow away and then pulled the man out of the snow.

He didn't know how many injuries Yan Ming had suffered, nor did he know what Yan Ming's condition was. He only knew that Yan Ming's internal energy was almost exhausted, and he leaned limply on his shoulder, his body already starting to get cold.

Fu Changling hurriedly drew a healing formation, let the man lean on his shoulder, then held the Spirit Gathering Tower in his hand, and circulated the spiritual power from the Spirit Gathering Tower all the way into Yan Ming's body.

Yan Ming remained silent, and Fu Changling didn't know whether the other party was okay or not. He trembled as he tried his best to supply spiritual power to the other party, until the other party's golden elixir could no longer accommodate more spiritual energy, and then he finally gave up.

But the other party didn't speak or wake up. He didn't know what to do. He had no idea what to do. He tried his best, but finally he was exhausted.

He couldn't do anything, so he put Yan Ming down and lay beside him.

He took Yan Ming's hand, leaned over, and gently kissed the other's lips.

Yan Ming's lips were cold, but soft.

The moment he kissed him, Fu Changling suddenly felt that the world was at peace.

There was originally strong wind and heavy snow, but everything slowed down.

The snowflakes were like cotton wool and feathers, gently and quietly spreading across the sky and earth, burying all the fighting, all the blood, and all the despair, leaving only a vast expanse of white.

The two of them lay in the blood-colored formation, becoming the only color in the world.

He held Yan Ming and kissed him. For the first time, he felt Yan Ming's warmth. In the ice and snow, that warmth seemed so hot that it made him shiver.

His tears mixed with blood fell into the kiss, giving the kiss the taste of blood and tears.

He couldn't see, he couldn't speak, but at that moment, he suddenly felt that even if his life ended here, he would not be willing to accept it.

Then he suddenly understood what he felt. No one had ever told him what this feeling was, but at that moment, he understood it without any instruction.

With trembling hands and choking sobs, he placed his fingertips on Yan Ming's chest, and then, stroke by stroke, he wrote on his heart.

"Yan Ming, I like you."

"Yan Ming, Fu Changling, I want to be with you."
