Chapter 300 Enjoying It (3)
"Fander, explain the riddle." Chu Hengkong said, "What are the rules?"
"The rule is wooooooooooooo."
Gulibo couldn't wait to answer, but was silenced by a tentacle from Fander. The latter looked around and said, "Let's find a few places where there are disputes."
Feiyan Amusement Park was packed with people, and the citizens of Jingsha often had unique personalities, so arguments and conflicts were commonplace. Chu Hengkong listened carefully and found several. The closest one was a small soldier arguing with a couple.
"Excuse me, why are you staring at me? Can't you smell my look-away perfume?"
The couple were both dressed like gangsters, holding crystals and snapping non-stop: "Go on, louder!"
"You're using people as material for a short video, aren't you?" The little soldier jumped up angrily. "You've offended me, and you're done for!"
"What? Are you looking for trouble?" the thug said dismissively, "High-speed roller coaster or ping-pong ball game."
"Coward, I want to challenge you to a battle of the ultimate!"
"Then let's duel!" "Duel!"
In the middle of the argument, both sides changed the subject, took out their card decks and started a thrilling duel, which made Ji Huaisu rub his eyes.
"What's going on?" Ji Huaisu was bewildered. "Two particles got angry and then... played cards?"
The soldier, wearing a shadow jacket, is a typical newly transformed, eager to show off. The gangster couple's skulls are prominent, clearly showing their toughness. After a quarrel, the two tempered Transformers choose to "start with a Extreme Battle." To the uninitiated, you might mistake them for some role-playing game.
Chu Hengkong scanned the surrounding arguments. He saw the miserly father who was arguing with the amusement park's high prices and the candy ball seller (both sides were competing in a business simulation game), conservatives and radicals arguing endlessly over a new bill (their argument led them to a ping-pong ball game), and young people who were furious because their failed attempts at flirting had failed (they were engaged in a mock gladiator match on the spot)...
Whether they were Transformers or ordinary tourists, all disputes were resolved through gaming, and no one objected; everyone felt it was as it should be.
"This must be the 'rule' of Hariroa," said Vander thoughtfully. "Her Holy Honor Cup was probably built around the core concept of 'entertainment'. In her territory, all disputes can be resolved through entertainment, and violent conflicts are probably strictly prohibited."
"Request further clarification." Ji Huaisu raised his hand.
"I'm talking about the common characteristics of the Holy Honor Cup," Gulibo continued. "Once the Transformers of the Floating Light Path reach Sephiroth 5 and above, they all have their own 'rules'."
Everyone knows that the path to success in life is one that relies on external things.
Upon reaching Sephiroth 4, the Ascenders of the Floating Light Path possessed a "vehicle" to colonize the land. Leaving their homelands, they journeyed to new worlds, slaying local enemies with their Strange Blades. Using their ability to materialize information, they crafted staffs of pain and cornerstones for their companions, allowing them to survive in dire situations, just as they had in the past.
Thus, the Transformers were able to spread their own teachings and pursue their own paths in foreign lands. And when all this was accomplished, and the land they had conquered became their home, the Transformer's status naturally transformed. He was no longer a mere pioneer. He gained prestige through his achievements, and he united the people through his education. He had become a de facto "ruler," and what he needed was no longer tools, but power.
Define the rules within your territory, satisfy the wishes of the people through rewards and punishments, and establish a comprehensive system to ensure the smooth operation of everything under your rule. The vehicle you develop becomes a vessel for gathering authority and fulfilling wishes: Sephiroth 5 of the Path of Submerged World and Floating Light, the "Holy Honor Cup."
"…the 'sacred' that represents merit, the 'credibility' that symbolizes authority, and the 'cup' that carries wishes, when combined together, they embody the ruler's rule."
Fander added, "You're all very familiar with this logic. The cook's father believed in healing the world, saving people from suffering. That's why his Holy Cup is a pestle; the more people he saves, the stronger he becomes. Under Youyou's rule, Huilong City encourages communication and trade. After the waterway opened, trade continued, divine power surged, and Huilong City was instantly transformed. This is the power of proven 'rules.'"
The two chief inspectors of Huilong City looked bewildered, as if they were listening to someone else's affairs.
"Hey, what are you two doing? I don't know. You really don't know?"
"Never heard of it." Chu Hengkong said.
"I don't know." Ji Huaisu scratched his head. "Youyou didn't tell me all this in detail... I thought everything would be fine once the city opened."
Fander dove into his pockets and said, "God have mercy on us, please send someone with brains! These two savages aren't even as smart as Gulibo, I can't handle them anymore!"
"In short, the more rules are followed in the Holy Honor Cup's territory, the better for the lord." Chu Hengkong concluded, "What if the rules are not followed?"
"The ruler's authority will be shaken, just like if you commit a crime and refuse to change your ways despite repeated warnings." Vander poked his head out again, "And the ruler will certainly not allow such nonsense. Look over there."
Not far away, there was a big guy who looked like he was from another island. He was pushing and kneading a small animal that accidentally bumped into him.
"Who the hell is playing this with you? Give me—"
"I protest!" the little animals shouted. "No violence in the amusement park!"
Suddenly, a little rabbit came floating down with a balloon and put a balloon cap on the big guy's head without saying a word. Then a cartoon dragon toy came running over with an air pump and pumped up the balloon.
The balloon grew bigger and bigger, until it expanded like a hot air balloon, carrying the big guy high into the sky. The big guy was originally pure fire of particle 3, but he couldn't catch fire in the balloon no matter how hard he tried, just like an ordinary person.
A member of the Divine Guard, who happened to be passing by and piloting a small flying saucer, plopped down on the hot air balloon and said leisurely, "According to the Sixth Amendment to Article 87 of the Fifth Citizenship Act, anyone who initiates a violent conflict in an amusement park will be sentenced to marching for five minutes for the first time. Repeat offenders will be detained for one to ten days, depending on the severity of the offense."
"This idiot has absolutely no memory," commented Gulibo.
"Yes, this is the second time this person has committed a crime."
The little rabbit came over and saluted everyone in a gentlemanly manner. "This is the rule of the Fifth Pulse Order. Please be more restrained when investigating cases and don't make things difficult for the hard-working people in the Divine Guard."
The rabbit had gray fur, a silver pocket watch dangling from its neck, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses draped over its serious face, making it a literal, gentle beast. Seeing it reveal its purpose, Chu Hengkong realized it was the amusement park employee assisting with the investigation, so he squatted down and asked, "What's your name?"
The gray rabbit pushed up his glasses, raised one paw diagonally above the next, and struck an exaggerated pose like a special effects hero: "I am the hero of chaos, Mr. Gray!"
The cartoon dragon doll came running over, not wanting to be outdone: "I am the devil of justice, Mr. Blue!"
The two small animals flipped over and jumped together, landing on another large, adorable animal that resembled a giant salamander. "To protect world peace and to ensure true fairness, we've fought fiercely on the other side of the horizon, seeking the unknown and possibilities. We are a group of small animals traveling through the world of movement, and a brand new future awaits us!"
"Wow~" the big animal responded in a silly way.
“…” X4
The four men stood frozen, expressionless, like prehistoric figures stunned by the sight of a mysterious black slate. Unresponsive, Mr. Gray struggled to strike a pose, his gaze blazing and sincere from behind his glasses.
"Well, Akong, although I don't quite understand, Mr. Gray gave me a look that seemed to be eager for a response." Ji Huaisu couldn't bear to respond.
Chu Hengkong hesitated again and again, then turned his head away: "The Rockets joke is already very old..."
"I told you this is no longer popular." Mr. Lan sighed.
"How can I be old? Mr. Gray, I grew up watching this cartoon when I was a kid!" The gray rabbit got angry.
"And Xiaozhi has been retired for several years." Chu Hengkong pursued.
"I don't admit it! I don't admit that there's no Pokémon anime without Ash and Team Rocket!! Besides, even though the original anime was terrible, I haven't seen any real improvement in quality after changing the protagonist and the world view!"
Chu Hengkong comforted him, "At least the painting is getting better..."
"Mr. Gray, I don't agree with this reason. There were many excellent drawings during Satoshi's time!"
"Can we get down to business now? I haven't watched the Pokemon animation." Ji Huaisu raised his hand.
"From Sealless to Diamond and Sun and Moon, they're all worth a look. Remember to catch up when you have time." Mr. Gray muttered, "So, everyone has understood the rules of the fifth meridian sequence..."
"Even if you are here to investigate a case, you still have to follow the rules..." Mr. Lan echoed.
The two little animals turned around at the same time and showed a game crystal. "So, let's use this modified version of Super Robot X-Man vs. Alpha 1+2+3 to decide the outcome! Both sides use a full 0-modified lineup. If you win, we will provide clues!"
Chu Hengkong turned around: "Then I'll check it myself."
"Why?! This is a Gundam!"
Chu Hengkong shrugged: "I have no interest in robot animation."
Mr. Gray let go of the game crystal and collapsed to the ground in frustration. "Where has the Steel Soul of otaku gone these days? Don't you even know how to sing your favorite anime theme song? Or even recite famous lines by heart?"
"You usually don't get this much when watching animations." Chu Hengkong said expressionlessly.
Mr. Lan sighed repeatedly. "Look, you're already behind the times. You're the kind of person who stands in a crowd hoping to command a crowd's attention only to find everyone looking at you strangely. You post on forums seeking recognition only to receive a bunch of responses you don't understand. You upload a video of your heartfelt feelings online only to be ridiculed as a naive person. You discuss anime with the rare fans only to find they don't stick to the point and instead accuse you of not understanding the work. It's only late at night, tossing and turning, that you suddenly realize you've gone against the grain. You're a decadent and powerless adult."
Mr. Gray choked up, "You've seen the tears of time..."
"Honestly, it's pretty impressive that you can still keep using memes at this time," said Vander.
"Wow, wow," echoed the wonderful big animal.
Mr. Gray regained his spirits and stood up. "In that case, let's use this Street Fighter 5—"
"No, thank you. We'll check it ourselves."
Mr. Gray adjusted his glasses and questioned, "What's going on? According to the routine, you should go through all the attractions with me at this point, introduce the entire Feiyan Amusement Park, and then go to the demon gathering place hidden beneath the park to investigate the truth of the case."
"So why don't I go directly to the demon gathering place hidden under the amusement park to find out the truth of the case?" Chu Hengkong said.
Mr. Lan yawned and said listlessly, "My friend, you're so boring. If you don't cooperate, we won't tell you where the entrance is. It's not too late to regret now - wow, he's really gone."
"What a strong salinity. The salt in this thing has a power of 15,000 points." Mr. Gray exclaimed.
If they were just here for fun, Chu Hengkong wouldn't mind following the usual routine. But now that they were investigating a case, he didn't want to play along with the little animals. He found a map, glanced at it, and handed it to Gulibo, whose face was full of "I want to go out and play."
"You don't want me to help you?" Gulibo wondered.
"Do you want to play cards?" Chu Hengkong asked back.
