Chapter 200: Find Something to Do

Chapter 200: Find Something to Do

She pushed Huo Jinjian and stood behind the porridge bucket.

"Don't be anxious, just line up, there will be something for everyone." She looked at the refugees with eyes full of longing and gave a gentle reminder.

Those refugees actually lined up obediently.

Liang Moyuan took a look inside the porridge bucket. It was cooked very thick as required, and some corn and vegetables were added to it.

The dishes included one meat and one vegetable. Although they were not very exquisite, they were of a level that these refugees would have found difficult to achieve even if they had not suffered a disaster.

"Mrs. Huo."

A woman with cracked corners of her mouth held a bowl, swallowed her saliva, and stared at the porridge and vegetables in front of her.

Liang Moyuan smiled gently and filled her bowl with sticky porridge: "Eat until you are full. If not, have more."

This sentence kept Liang Moyuan busy from morning till noon.

She rubbed her aching waist, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and glanced at the dazzling sun hanging high in the sky.

The refugees were all very satisfied with the meal and praised Liang Moyuan and Huo Jinjian highly.

Seeing the tiredness on Liang Moyuan's face, Huo Jin said distressedly, "Why don't you go back home first."

"It's okay, look at those people." Liang Moyuan raised his chin slightly and motioned Huo Jinjian to look at the people disguised as refugees.

They gathered together, talking about something.

From time to time, he would glance at Liang Moyuan and the others.

He looked as if he was afraid that Liang Moyuan and the others wouldn't notice him.

Liang Moyuan and Huo Jin looked at each other.

"Wei San, tell our people to keep a close eye on that group of people." Huo Jin waved at Wei San.

Wei San nodded: "When that man argued with Madam this morning, we already had our sights on them, don't worry."

After the refugees had eaten and drunk their fill, they were taken to the vicinity of the abandoned fields by people from the management department.

It was originally a granary, but it had been abandoned for a long time and had not been taken care of. With a little tidying up, it could still be habitable.

Liang Moyuan saw that the man walking in front was also wearing official uniform.

He looks a little younger than Huo Jinjian.

"That's the deputy His Majesty sent to me. He's from the Ministry of Revenue and his name is Qi Fengxian." Huo Jin saw Liang Moyuan's eyes flickering and knew who she was looking at at a glance.

Liang Moyuan withdrew her gaze.

With an assistant to help, at least Huo Jin doesn't have to be so tired.

He should take less care of his health.

When he returned to the Marquis' Mansion, he was knocking on the door when he ran into Huo Siyuan who was about to go out.

Looking at Huo Jinjian, who was sitting in a wheelchair and wearing an official robe, looking even more noble and elegant, Huo Siyuan's eyes were filled with unconcealable jealousy.

Huo Siyuan saluted Huo Jinjian with a forced smile, "Big brother, you are so impressive! Have the refugees been properly settled?"

Seeing his indifferent expression, Huo Jin didn't even give him an extra glance: "Second brother, I'm worried about you. What are you doing out there?"

Huo Siyuan's expression changed unnaturally. He coughed lightly and said, "Second brother is an idle person. Unlike my elder brother who is valued by His Majesty, I naturally have to find something to do and not bring shame to our mansion."

After saying this, he raised his hand to salute, and without waiting for Huo Jin to speak, he hurried away.

"I'm afraid he went to see the prince again." Liang Moyuan turned around and looked at Huo Siyuan's back.

Huo Siyuan is just the prince's target. Liang Moyuan always feels that the prince is willing to use him, perhaps there are deeper reasons.

We still need someone to keep an eye on it.

"You'll know at night." Huo Jin noticed Liang Moyuan's thoughts and patted her hand that was holding the wheelchair handle.

The warm touch brought Liang Moyuan back to her senses.

She nodded and returned to the main house with Huo Jinjian.

"The court will allocate funds tomorrow, and the materials for resettling the refugees will also arrive. We will have to find two trustworthy people to guard there then." Liang Moyuan was thinking about letting the four maids take turns.

After all, as women, they are less likely to arouse people's vigilance there, but their martial arts skills are strong enough to deal with those with bad intentions.

Huo Jin walked to Liang Moyuan's side and raised his hand to pinch her shoulder.

"You don't have to worry about it. Wei San has already arranged the people. The other lady has invited the ladies and wives of various families to enjoy the flowers and drink tea. You have to worry about these things every day."

As Huo Jin spoke, he pinched Liang Moyuan with just the right amount of pressure.

I have to say, Huo Jin felt that the pinching was quite comfortable.

Liang Moyuan had been standing and bending over all day, and her whole body was indeed sore.

Huo Jin saw her hitting her waist in the afternoon.

"That's because I have other ambitions. Could it be that my husband no longer needs my help?" Liang Moyuan raised her eyes, the candlelight flowing in her eyes, which made Huo Jin's heart tremble.

Huo Jinjian's hand slowly slid from Liang Moyuan's shoulder to her waist: "Can I massage it for you?"
