Chapter 30 Resignation

At six o'clock in the afternoon, Lin Jiaojiao went to her part-time job as usual, but she didn't take the bus today. Instead, she took a Didi. Her school didn't have strict management, and cars from outside could drive in, so she only had to walk to the bottom of the dormitory building.

She was ready to resign. Now that she had enough money, there was no need for her to do this job anymore.

If she resigned, she would probably have less contact with Brother Wei.

"Jiaojiao, come here and try the new food." Wei Chao saw the girl and came up to her with a smile.

Lin Jiaojiao looked around cautiously, "Will the manager allow me to drink?"

They secretly drank the food in the store and were fined if they were caught.

"It's okay, the manager allows it. Just give me some feedback after you drink it."

"Brother Wei, I'm in the front area today, right? Do I need to wear the front area work clothes?" She used to be in the back kitchen, and the clothes she wore were different from the front area work clothes.

"Yes, wait a moment and I'll give it to you." As he said that, he walked towards the warehouse, and Lin Jiaojiao followed him in quietly.

Wei Chao lowered his head to pull off his work clothes, mumbling, "I forgot to ask Jiaojiao what size she is, but Jiaojiao is so thin now, it should be an S."

After picking up the clothes and turning around, I saw the girl standing at the door.

"Jiaojiao, why are you here?" the man asked, unpacking the clothes and handing them to the girl. "Try them on to see if they fit. If not, change them." After saying that, he walked out and closed the door.

"Brother Wei, I'm dressed now. It fits me well." The girl opened the door and walked out.

"Then let's go to the front area."

Seeing the girl standing there motionless, the man lowered his head and asked, "Jiaojiao?"

“…It’s okay, let’s go,” the girl said after hesitating for a moment.

I originally wanted to tell Brother Wei about my resignation, but then I thought I’d do it after get off work.

Wei Chao led the girl to the front area, explaining as they walked, "The work at the front area is very simple. When customers come, we greet them, take their orders, and deliver their meals. You need to be nice. The store has very strict assessments, and a single complaint will result in a 500 yuan fine..."

"Okay, I understand, Brother Wei."

The girl answered obediently and was very lovely.

Seven to nine o'clock is the evening rush hour. Lin Jiaojiao is busy like a top and accidentally placed two wrong orders, which were solved by Brother Wei.

There were so many people that no matter how carefully she tried to remember, her brain just wasn't enough. She was clearly mumbling something, but she kept making mistakes. Fortunately, the guests at those tables were very nice and didn't pursue the matter.

This reminded her of the time when her mother asked her to buy soy sauce and vinegar when she was a child. Her mother clearly asked her to buy soy sauce, but she kept muttering something and ended up buying vinegar.

"Jiaojiao, how are you? Are you adapting?" Wei Chao touched the girl's head.

"My memory is a bit bad," the girl smiled embarrassedly.

"It's okay, don't feel pressured. You'll be fine after a few days of getting used to it." The man comforted softly.

The girl rubbed her fingers together, struggling with what to say next. "Brother Wei, I'm ready to resign."

The man was stunned for a moment, and his smile disappeared. "Jiaojiao, why?"

Did he cause trouble to Jiaojiao? Did she hate him and didn't want to see him?

"Brother Wei, my family recently increased my living allowance. My part-time job makes me come home too late at night, and I'm a little scared."

"Brother Wei, I've told my family about my loan. They've transferred the money to me. I'll transfer it to you later."

This was the most reasonable reason she could think of.

The man looked at the girl without saying a word, with deep sadness in his eyes.

Seeing Wei Chao's bad face, Lin Jiaojiao asked with concern: "Brother Wei, what's wrong with you?"

The man took the girl's white and tender hand and walked to the corner, "Brother Wei, where are you taking me?"

He did not answer the girl, but enveloped her in his presence.

Lin Jiaojiao leaned against the wall, looked up at the man in front of her, and called softly, "Brother Wei?"

Is Brother Wei angry? Because she wants to resign.

But she really doesn't want to do this job anymore. She had no choice before because she was short of money, but now that she has money, she doesn't want to suffer this hardship anymore.

"Jiaojiao~" The man stroked the girl's fair and delicate face, "Are you really quitting your job because you don't need money?"

The girl felt uncomfortable being touched and wanted to hide, but there was a wall behind her and a man in front of her. She had nowhere to hide. "Yes, Brother Wei, my parents made some money from their small business recently, and they gave me a thousand yuan increase in living expenses every month."

Wei Chao felt a little relieved when he heard the girl's affirmative answer. He also hoped that Jiaojiao would not have to work so hard. Her schoolwork was already heavy, and she had to work part-time every day. She would arrive at school at 10 o'clock every night, which was not safe.

"Okay, then I'll go with you to talk to the owner later."

The man looked at the girl reluctantly. They would no longer be able to see each other every day, and he would slowly disappear from the girl's life...

"That 20,000 yuan is for Jiaojiao. You don't have to pay me back. Jiaojiao can use it to buy some clothes, cosmetics, etc., okay?"

"Brother Wei, my family gave me money. It's not easy for you to save money. You..."

"I'm not short of money, Jiaojiao, can you take it?"

He admitted that he was a bit despicable. If Jiaojiao returned the 20,000 yuan to him, they might never have any contact in the future.

The man looked at Lin Jiaojiao with pleading eyes. She suddenly felt so sorry for him. She was so bad!

Lin Jiaojiao took Wei Chao's hand and shook it gently, "Okay~ Then I will save it for Brother Wei. If you need money in the future, please let me know~"

"Jiaojiao, Brother Wei won't be able to see you every day from now on." The man stepped forward and hugged the girl tightly in his arms.

Lin Jiaojiao sensed the man's sadness, reached out to hug him back, and patted him gently, "Brother Wei, have you forgotten? I have weekends, we can meet on weekends."
