Chapter 47: Ruined Blind Date

"No, no! This girl has very good legs and feet! She's very capable and nimble!"

Since it concerned her reputation as a matchmaker, Zhang Juanniang almost broke her handkerchief while explaining repeatedly.

Aunt Li pointed angrily at Jiang Henian's limp right leg and asked, "What's going on?"

"Well……"

"My legs are broken and I can't walk fast. I'm sorry I'm back late."

Jiang Henian waved his hand to explain calmly and turned to look at Wang Chunfang.

"Mom, Uncle Ding said I can't even finish two work points a day. If the team doesn't assign me work in the future, I won't go to the fields! Anyway, you said you would find me a reliable husband to take care of me, so I just wait to get married."

"What nonsense!"

Wang Chunfang walked over quickly and pulled Jiang Henian hard, explaining, "Aunt Chen, my girl loves to play around. She sprained her ankle a while ago and it's healed now. She was just pretending to be having fun."

Aunt Chen frowned suspiciously, and the wrinkles at the corners of her mouth revealed her sharp criticism.

Jiang Henian frowned in disapproval, "Mom, why are you still hiding this?"

As she lifted the stick, she accidentally stepped on Wang Chunfang's foot, causing her to take two more crippled steps.

"My legs are getting worse day by day. I might not be able to stand up before I get married. I'll have to be carried on someone's back. I have to make it clear first."

"Hiss--" Wang Chunfang was in so much pain that his features were shaky and he was gasping for breath while holding his foot.

"Second sister, my legs hurt so much, please make room for me."

Jiang Henian walked to the stone table, pushed Jiang Yanqiu away with his butt, and sat down in her seat.

Jiang Yanqiu was stunned: "Can't you see there's a seat over there?"

"Second sister, we have guests here, please stop making noises. It makes us look like we have no manners. If I take two more steps, my legs will break."

Jiang Henian waved his little hand, leaned his crutch against the stone table, turned his head to look at the Li family members next to him, and his beautiful upturned eyes scanned from top to bottom and from left to right more critically.

Her thick eyelashes fluttered like a butterfly, attracting people, but the words that came out of her little mouth were particularly attractive.

"The one my mother chose as the scapegoat is your family?"

The three members of the Li family: ...

Aunt Li's face instantly became so long that it could plow two acres of land.

Zhang Juanniang saw something was wrong and quickly stepped forward to interrupt: "Young lady——"

Jiang Chengmin slammed the table and said, "Sanya!"

"Didn't Dad ask me to get married? I have to understand."

Jiang Henian pushed Jiang Chengmin back without even turning his head. He tilted his head to look at the young man sitting in the middle and suddenly smiled.

"Your name is Jinbao? You look really energetic, and your body is..."

Jiang Henian looked at his physique, which was very similar to that of a steamed bun, and praised him against his will: "You are quite strong. You will definitely be able to carry me in the future. I will rely on you when I go up the mountain and down the field. What do you think of me?"

Li Jinbao was so fascinated by Jiang Henian's pretty face that his saliva started to flow.

With his big mouth with two missing front teeth, he made excited "er er" sounds and clapped his hands like a sea lion.

"That works."

The two sides had a pleasant conversation, and Jiang Henian made the decision directly:

"From now on, you, your mother, and... is this your sister? The three of you have to take good care of me. My legs and feet aren't working well, and I'll be paralyzed in bed next month. If you treat me badly, I'll beat you with a stick."

Li Jinbao ignored his sister's attempts to stop him and continued clapping his hands like a sea lion, "Uh uh!"

Zhang Juanniang's eyes turned dark and she pinched the bridge of her nose with her fingers.

Wang Chunfang's face was as dark as the Li family's. He tiptoed over, grabbed Jiang Henian tightly, bent over and shouted, "Don't think you can ruin this marriage by talking nonsense!"

"Mom—you're here again."

Jiang Henian sighed deeply, then bent down, took hold of his right leg with both hands, and with great effort, pulled it out, then pulled up his trouser leg. "Everyone said I couldn't hide this."

Everyone gasped and their eyes almost popped out.

"Heavenly Mother!"

"Don't go! Aunt Li! I really don't know what's going on! Let me explain!"

Zhang Juanniang waved her handkerchief and hurried out the door.

Jiang Henian sat steadily with his legs crossed, raised his hands and said reluctantly: "Auntie! I like Jinbao very much. As long as he is willing to serve me, tomorrow I will -"

Aunt Li, who had just walked out of the courtyard with her son, turned around and spat, "Bah! You're dreaming, you useless, crazy, lazy woman! Jinbao, go!"

Li Jinbao was drooling and making grunting sounds as he reached out to Jiang Henian, but was dragged away by his mother and elder sister, one on each side.

Leaving behind an exceptionally sumptuous meal on the Jiang family's stone table, and a yard full of petrified people.

Jiang Jirong stared at Jiang Henian's right leg, which had been rolled up to the knee. His voice trembled and his eyes were red.

"Third sister...your legs..."

"What's going on?..."

Jiang Henian looked down at his slightly swollen calf, which was covered with scary red lines like spider webs, without explaining.

He calmly picked up the chopsticks, picked up a piece of fried pork slices, put it in his mouth, chewed it and ate it.

Well, the taste is okay, but it's a bit cold.

Wang Chunfang came back to his senses, shaking with anger, pointing at Jiang Henian and looking at Jiang Chengmin:

"Boss, I didn't mean to say that to that girl this time, did I? Look at what she did just now? She's just a crazy girl talking nonsense! She's really embarrassed our family!"

"Am I as crazy as you?"

Jiang Henian ate another piece of fat and lean meat, tapped the plate on the table with his chopsticks, and spoke in a cold tone.

"Stir-fried pork slices with dried vegetables... brown sugar steamed buns... spicy stir-fried potato slices, and four fried eggs. You spent a lot of money to marry me to that kind of person."

"How much was the betrothal gift? Could it be exactly one hundred?"

She poked a soft-fried egg with her chopsticks and swept her cold gaze over Jiang Yanqiu.
