Chapter 65
While thinking about Candy, Cheng Shi also took the time to dance with Suningna.
Suningna, true to her ethnic minority background of singing and dancing, had an exceptionally good dance style. Although she wasn't as voluptuous as the scantily clad girls dancing energetically, her captivating moves still won cheers from the surrounding children, making her the center of attention on the dance floor. Now, a little tired from dancing, Suningna leaned close to Chengshi, rambling on about random things: "My goodness, there are so many people here! I feel like it's been so many, many, many years since I've drunk so much or danced this happily!"
Cheng Shi smiled slightly after hearing Su Ningna's words, thinking to himself that it was good he didn't dance with Huang Ruoyu, because if he had danced with her, she would have just said, "It's too messy here, let's go home quickly."
Cheng Shi didn't want to go home at all. He wouldn't even mind if Huang Ruoyu left first and left him there to play by himself, because he could call a car to go home after he was done playing. Thinking of this, a beautiful picture appeared in Cheng Shi's mind: he was curled up in his bed like a bachelor, and the only things on the bed besides him were piles of dirty clothes and books scattered all over the place—this scene was so desirable.
So, if he had to go home now, Cheng Shi would rather stay in this chaotic yet vibrant place. He loves the craft beer here, and even more so the deafening music. Here, he can feel a sense of inner satisfaction because he knows he is no longer the poor student who used to go to the pub and have to drink several cans of beer at home because he couldn't afford to buy drinks. Now, he is glamorous, mature, and charming.
"Hey Xiaocheng, I think I might be a little... I need to go..." With that, Su Ningna walked unsteadily toward the bathroom.
Chengshi took the opportunity to run to the outside bar and ordered another pitcher of craft beer. After downing the can, he returned to the inner area. However, after a long while, Suningna came out of the restroom. She looked exhausted, and under the eerie colorful lights of the Live House, her face appeared ashen and dull, as if she had encountered a ghost.
Suningna forced a smile at Chengshi, reeking of vomit, and then weakly said, "Sorry, Chengshi, I think Pengfei and I have to go first. I might... have drunk a little too much... I'm sorry..."
"Don't say that if it's nothing. Can you stand up straight? I'll call Lao Sun over right away." Cheng Shi said, while dizzily scanning the swaying bodies all over the dance floor, until he saw Sun Pengfei's overly bulging back muscles and Huang Ruoyu's overly slender swan neck swaying in the far corner.
Chengshi whistled and made an urgent hand gesture to the two men, but they didn't notice. Finally, Chengshi had no choice but to call Sun Pengfei. A little while later, the four of them were standing in the gravel-paved parking lot outside the Live House, and then they got lost in the vast sea of cars.
Looking at the scene before her, Cheng Shi immediately thought of that car-moving game advertisement that she had seen a lot of recently—are all the cars in Beijing parked here?
"Where exactly did you park the car?"
"Over there, I remember it was over there."
Are you alright?
"It's so dark here! The facilities aren't even finished, why is it open? There's not even any lighting!"
Sun Pengfei turned on the flashlight on his phone. The cone-shaped beam couldn't reach very far, but the four of them still raised their chins as the faint beam of the flashlight extended in all directions.
Then, as Narumi walked forward, he turned on the flashlight on his phone. In the light, a pair of faces appeared, looking back. The faces were less than an arm's length away from him. Narumi's flashlight startled a couple who were being affectionate in the back seat of the car.
Embarrassed, Chengshi quickly used the beam of light to run to the front of the next row of cars and began shouting, "Where did all these cars park? Even if we find our cars, we can't get out! Hey, does anyone remember where we parked?"
As Cheng Shi spoke, he pressed the power button on the remote control.
"Here it is!" Sun Pengfei responded from a distance after spotting the flashing car lights. "It's under the tree, but we can't get out, it's all blocked off!"
A few hours ago, when it was still light, Chengshi and his friends had arrived early and deliberately parked their car under the shadiest tree in the parking lot, thinking that it wouldn't be too hot inside the car when they got back. However, now there are at least two whole rows of cars parked in front of, to the left and right of their car, so the three sides of the aisle next to Chengshi's car are completely blocked, and the shady tree doesn't leave him any room to turn around, so they can't get out at all.
"Oh my god, it's such a mess! Can we call the police and get them to move all the cars?" Suningna asked, choking back tears.
“Of course not,” Sun Pengfei replied angrily. “Do you want the police to catch us in the act of drunk driving?”
"Why don't these people think about others?"
"It would be better if this broken tree weren't here!"
"Do you think this will work?" Cheng Shi suggested. "Let's call a car to take Nana home first, and then I'll have the driver bring me back. By then, those cars might already be available..."
“But that would take a long time to get here,” Suningna said weakly. “Shanshan and Xiaosi are waiting for you to come home. Xiaohuang said they’ve been waiting for you to come home before they go to sleep lately.”
“No, no, wait a minute,” Sun Pengfei said. “We can all go home first, then I’ll drive my car over, and then… wait, wait a minute…”
“Listen to me,” Huang Ruoyu’s voice sounded calm and authoritative amidst the chaos, and everyone quieted down. “It’s simple, Shitou. You can call a car to take Nana home first, and then you can go home to see the children. Aunt Wang left at 9 o’clock, and they might be awake by now. If you go home early, they can go to sleep early too. Lao Sun and I will stay here and wait for them to drive the car away. This is the only feasible solution right now.”
“Alright then,” Cheng Shi said, taking out car keys from his pocket and handing them to Huang Ruoyu. “Is everyone okay with this?”
