Chapter Thirteen: Wonderland, Top-Grade Dendrobium officinale

As the three of them walked through the valley entrance, Yi Shangyun was stunned by the vast world before her.

Green mountains, clear waters, strange rocks, purple bamboo forests, birdsong and fragrant flowers, and endless medicinal fields... The valley is shrouded in mist, just like a fairyland for cultivating immortality.

"Wow, what's going on here...?"

"Behind this cliff lies another world, untouched by the mortal realm, like a forgotten corner of the world, with endless, undulating mountains stretching for thousands of miles around the entire valley." Yi Shangyun murmured in surprise, following closely behind the two figures who resembled fairies.

She had never seen such a large-scale and uniquely topographical herb valley before, more expansive and mysterious than any herb valley she had ever seen in the 21st century.

"Two fairy sisters, is this medicine valley managed by just the two of you?" Yi Shangyun asked, quite surprised, as she caught up with them.

"Yes, besides the Valley Master, there are only the two of us in this Medicine Valley." The two women raised their eyebrows at Yi Shangyun, and the taller of the two women answered her as they walked.

Then the woman continued, "You little girl, since you're about our age, you don't need to call us 'sisters' anymore. My name is Bai Zhi, and hers is Zi Su."

"Sister Baizhi, Sister Zisu, shall I call you that from now on?" Yi Shangyun's words were as sweet as honey, and the three of them chatted and laughed all the way, quickly becoming familiar with each other.

Upon entering, Yi Shangyun discovered that the entrance to Shennong Herbs Valley was flanked by towering and endless mountain ranges, with cliffs and strange rocks standing tall. Both the yin and yang sides of the valley and the surrounding area were ideal for the growth of many precious and rare medicinal herbs, making it a treasure trove.

Medicine Valley is isolated from the world. It turns out that not only is there a river winding around the foot of the mountain outside the valley, but it is also inside the valley.

The water in this river, like the water in the other rivers, originates from a magnificent waterfall cascading down the mountainside. The waterfall splits into several streams that flow into the riverbeds on either side at the foot of the mountain, irrigating this magical medicinal valley.

Looking up, the waterfall is magnificent, cascading down for miles, with a lot of water vapor, which is quite spectacular. The water in the river is clear and green to the bottom.

The long riverbank stretches as far as the eye can see, with only the faint outlines of green mountains visible in the distance. Those who find themselves there feel as if they are in a celestial realm.

"Sister Baizhi, Sister Zisu, living in such a beautiful paradise, no wonder you two are as beautiful as immortals," Yi Shangyun seemed to be in a very good mood.

“This girl has a sweet tongue, no wonder the Valley Master treats you so well…” Before Bai Zhi could finish speaking, Zi Su hurriedly tugged at her sleeve, signaling her not to reveal too much information about the Valley Master to outsiders. Seeing this, Yi Shangyun did not continue to ask questions.

Ancient trees that have stood for thousands of years cover the mountains and fields, wildflowers bloom in profusion, and patches of medicinal herbs grow quietly and freely, emitting a refreshing and charming fragrance that blends perfectly with the unique climate of the valley.

Under a clear blue sky and bright sunshine, a stroll through the mountains is filled with oxygen, instantly making one feel relaxed and invigorated.

Along the way, we saw many natural medicinal bath pavilions. If one could soak in such a natural and comfortable environment to clear one's meridians with the most natural and harmless medicinal bath, even the gods would be reluctant to leave.

After walking for about half an hour, a cluster of red-roofed wooden houses appeared in the distance behind a lush and dense forest, facing the waterfall.

"Sisters, are we almost there?" Yi Shangyun asked after seeing the group of wooden houses.

“It’s just ahead,” Zisu said, pointing in the direction of the wooden houses.

All of them are unique yet uniformly red-roofed wooden structures. The courtyards feature elegant and unique pavilions, corridors, wooden bridges, and man-made streams. The courtyards and surrounding areas are also filled with natural herbs and flowers that are beneficial to the body and mind.

"Girl, why don't you rest and wait here?" Bai Zhi said.

The two women gestured for her to rest in the pavilion in the courtyard, and then went into the largest three-story wooden house in the middle, named "Xiaoyao Pavilion".

Yi Shangyun was excited the whole way, and only now did she feel a little tired and uncomfortable, so she sat down.

Suddenly, a beautiful little bird landed on the railing beside her. Its beak was jet black, and its legs were grayish-brown, simple and elegant. As soon as Yi Shangyun saw its tie-like black markings, she recognized it as a precious "priest bird".

"It's incredible that Baicao Valley has such rare ornamental birds," Yi Shangyun murmured.

Suddenly, she noticed that the priest bird's leg was injured and bleeding. She quickly took out a silk handkerchief from her sleeve and carefully bandaged its wound. After stroking its body for a long time, she released it.

All of this was witnessed by Yi Junhao, who was just about to walk out of Xiaoyao Pavilion. He stood by the door, quietly watching her as she appeared so gentle and kind.

A gentle breeze caressed her face, softly lifting the veil covering her lips; the scene was the most beautiful picture in the world. He couldn't bear to disturb her, wanting to freeze her in this serene moment forever.

In the end, he still strode confidently toward Yi Shangyun.

As Yi Shangyun watched the priest bird fly away safely, she was about to turn around when she saw a red-robed man with half-tied black hair and peach blossom eyes standing in front of her, smiling at her. She exclaimed in surprise, "You are... Valley Master?"

"Miss Yi, we meet again," Yi Junhao said with a gentle smile as he leaned closer to her.

"It's you!" Yi Shangyun exclaimed in surprise.

"Bai Cao Tang and Bai Cao Gu were originally the businesses of the Third Young Master. I truly admire the Third Young Master for achieving so much at such a young age."

“Miss Yi, you missed one,” Yi Junhao reminded Yi Shangyun in a somewhat amused tone.

Yi Shangyun hurriedly searched her memory, "I forgot one, what was it?"

Seeing the suspicious look on Yi Shangyun's face, Yi Junhao said, "Five Gu Pills".

Yi Shangyun immediately widened her beautiful phoenix eyes in surprise and exclaimed, "Could it be that the itinerant doctor from that day was also you?"

"Hahahaha..." Yi Junhao let out a hearty laugh, so loud it echoed through the valley. Perhaps it was because he had waited too long for Yi Shangyun to come to his door, and finally, the girl's arrival was finally here.

"You forgot one thing, you took my Nine Deaths Resurrection Grass, am I right?" The Third Young Master decided to settle accounts with her later.

Yi Shangyun was immediately stunned. She had thought she had stolen the immortal herb without anyone noticing, but it turned out she had already been discovered. At this moment, she blushed and was truly embarrassed.

"Fine, you can have it all. Who told you to be beautiful inside and out? But today's trip is another..." Yi Junhao paused and asked.

Yi Shangyun then remembered the purpose of his trip and said, "Third Young Master, this time I want to obtain top-grade Dendrobium officinale. Without it, my father, the entire Yi family, and I are afraid our lives will be in danger. Third Young Master, can you help me? If needed in the future, I will do my best. I'm afraid only you can help with this matter."

As Yi Shangyun spoke, her face revealed a look of hope and expectation for Yi Junhao.

"A mere top-grade Dendrobium officinale could actually kill your entire family. The person who used the medicine must be utterly incompetent to use it to threaten a weak woman."

As he spoke, he raised his right hand, and Bai Zhi walked over to Yi Shangyun carrying a small, exquisitely carved wooden medicine box.

When Yi Shangyun opened the package, she was so excited that she almost burst into tears. Last night, the heavy rain almost cost her her life at the foot of the mountain, but now she had obtained the immortal herb without lifting a finger.

The herb was preserved exceptionally well, looking as if it had just been picked and was incredibly fresh. She was so excited she didn't know what to say in gratitude, "Third Young Master, I..."

She had just opened her mouth when the Third Young Master raised his hand to stop her.

"Since it's a matter of saving your life, then hurry up and take care of your business. I'll settle the score with you later," the Third Young Master said seriously, but his expression was completely indifferent.

Everyone says the Valley Master of Hundred Herbs Valley is extremely difficult to talk to, yet Yi Shangyun has taken so many immortal herbs from him without doing anything. She really doesn't know how she can repay these favors. Even a single herb she took is incredibly valuable.

After receiving the immortal herb, Yi Shangyun thanked him and took his leave, hurrying out of the valley to find Cheng Liang.

Meanwhile, Cheng Liang was worried at the entrance. He didn't dare to leave for even a moment. He was beginning to regret agreeing to let Yi Shangyun enter the valley alone.

If his master found out, he would surely lose his life. But seeing her walk out unharmed, he finally felt that his anxious heart was finally at peace again.

"Girl, are you alright?"

Yi Shangyun pursed her lips and smiled, waving the small wooden medicine box in her hand at him, indicating that she had succeeded. The two then hurriedly headed towards the palace.

It was already dark.

Xuanyuan Han was discussing matters with Emperor Jing in the palace, but he seemed somewhat distracted. He knew that the two of them would return to the palace tonight, whether they obtained the medicine or not, so he arrived at the palace early to wait for them.

"Your Majesty, my daughter, Yi Shangyun, requests an audience."

An old eunuch rushed in to report that everyone knew tomorrow was the deadline for the three-day agreement, and at this time everyone was keeping their distance, fearing that the emperor's wrath would implicate them.

"Issue," Emperor Jing ordered.
