Chapter 153 Antidote
"Who are you?"
Just as Su Xi was about to answer, a strong force came from her wrist.
She was pulled in front of the man.
"You are Su Xi."
Su Xi's eyes widened. Aren't men supposed to be unable to recognize people when they're drunk? Does being drunk and drugged mean they can recognize people? Then...do they still have blackouts?
"I...I'm not Su Xi, though we might look a bit alike. I'm a caregiver."
"Really?" The man rolled over and pinned the woman beneath him. "You took my clothes off?"
"I'm applying medicine for you." Su Xi reached for the ointment on the bedside table, trying to prove that she wasn't taking advantage of him, but the man pressed her hand down on the bed.
"I'll give you 5 million as my antidote."
Su Xi's pupils contracted.
The next second, the lights were turned off, leaving only a dim, hazy night light.
The surrounding air suddenly became lingering and ambiguous, humid and scorching.
The man pulled her closer, and Su Xi instinctively struggled.
I remembered what the old man had said: that kind of medicine has an effect on a man's body.
"Ten million. Aren't you a caregiver? With this money, you can live a carefree life for the rest of your life." The man coaxed her softly in her ear, his breathing becoming slightly heavier.
Her hand accidentally touched the man's back, and the man closed his eyes in pain and groaned.
Su Xi paused in her struggle, a lingering fear creeping into her heart at the thought of the man's back injury. Her uncle had done so much for her; shouldn't she be his cure? At least she wouldn't feel embarrassed afterward, since she had no memory of it.
He could tell the woman was hesitant.
Hesitation is acceptable.
The moment they were about to kiss, the man stopped, letting out a chilling, indifferent laugh.
His thin lips drew near the woman's ear, his voice as cold as a blade.
"Miss, are you that casual?"
He only used a little trick, and the woman really let him do whatever he wanted.
This forced him to believe what those women said; Su Xi would accept any outstanding man who showed even a slight liking for her.
Su Xi's face turned pale instantly.
It was as if the last fig leaf had been ruthlessly torn off.
The man sat up and threw the woman's shirt at her.
"So casual? I don't think I'm afraid of getting sick. Get out."
Su Xi's face was completely drained of color. She silently put on her clothes and was about to leave when she caught a glimpse of a glaring crimson in her peripheral vision. She turned her head and saw the man lying on his side, the wound on his back reopening, with blood trickling down his back.
She suddenly realized that she hadn't been angry with a drunk man who had been drugged. He was just talking nonsense, and it wasn't even directed at her.
She texted Liu Cheng, "Have you found the antidote?"
"No, it's all up to you, Miss Su. That kind of medicine is very harmful to the body. Whether President Feng can still be a normal man in the future depends entirely on your decision."
Su Xi stared at the message, hesitating for a good ten seconds.
Finally, she climbed onto the bed again, slowly pressing herself against him, her lips brushing against his ear, "Mr. Feng... Mr. Feng, I..."
The man whirled around, grabbed the woman's chin, his eyes filled with a terrifyingly dark glint, and spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Do you have to prove to me again and again that you're a promiscuous woman? Or do you think I'm as promiscuous as you? Get out of here right now."
Su Xi was completely heartbroken. She fled the room as if her life depended on it, called Liu Cheng, and told him the whole story.
Liu Cheng?
"Alright, Miss Su, you've been wronged. But Mr. Feng's drunkenness wasn't directed at you. Doesn't that just prove he's a good man who keeps himself pure and upright?"
Su Xi didn't respond to that question, but instead asked, "What about the medicine on his body..."
“I will take him to the hospital. I have already contacted a specialist in this field, and they said it is possible.”
Upon hearing this, Su Xi immediately took a taxi back to her apartment. Lying in bed, the events of the day flashed through her mind like a revolving lantern.
She always felt that Feng Jue had recognized her, and that those cruel and insulting words were meant for her.
Does he really think that Su Xi is a promiscuous woman, so he would rather go to a cold hospital than touch her, because he thinks she is dirty?
Then I realized she was being paranoid.
She finally fell asleep, unaware that far away overseas, Feng Jingnian, unable to reach Feng Jue by phone, booked the earliest flight back to China.
The next day, Feng Jue woke up from a hangover with a splitting headache.
Thinking back on everything that happened last night, the man's eyes turned cold. He had really misjudged that woman.
Liu Cheng knocked and walked in, his brow furrowed deeply. "President Feng..."
"Speak your mind."
“I investigated and found that the person who had dinner with Ms. Su yesterday was Bo Licheng, the president of Color Technology. Ms. Su Xi also has an investment in this company, so they are business partners.”
"The one on the university playground next to Wangyue Pavilion is Su Xi's cousin. He was studying abroad and flew back last night. He only stayed in China for one day."
The man's pupils flickered, just then a person rushed in through the door.
Both of them were somewhat surprised to see that it was Feng Jingnian.
The man looked at Feng Jue scrutinizingly, "What did you mean by suddenly asking me that question yesterday? Why did you block me?"
Don't you know how strong I am? How could she, a weak woman, possibly resist me? Afterwards, she said that if I said anything more than friendship, we wouldn't even be able to be friends anymore, which is why I gave her to you.
You don't suspect that I did something to hurt her that wasn't entirely innocent between us, do you? Is this how you show your love? You two broke up?
"We didn't break up." Feng Jue said decisively. "I asked you because I wanted to learn from your experience. Last night I pretended to be drugged and we're already together, officially dating. She's my woman now."
He looked at Liu Cheng and said, "Liu Cheng." Liu Cheng understood immediately and looked down at his phone, operating something.
“You know she’s not divorced yet. My love for her is real and irresistible, while you are just a stain on her reputation. Your existence does her no good, nor her divorce proceedings, nor her feelings. What are you doing back here? Is this how you show your love for her? Liu Cheng has already booked your plane ticket. Please go back.”
Feng Jingnian was stunned. His phone rang, and he saw that his plane ticket had indeed been booked, and he would have to rush to catch the plane in just one hour. The man was dumbfounded.
"Fine, you've got guts. We'll see." The man turned and left angrily.
Feng Jingnian wasn't stupid. Feng Jue was clearly not as good to Su Xi as he had imagined. He still needed to love her properly himself.
In Su Xi's eyes, he is now just a man who can't control his lower body, and his presence in front of her only makes her feel disgusted.
He needed to think carefully about what Feng Jue couldn't do for Su Xi, but he could do, even at the cost of his life.
Su Xi opened the door and immediately saw Feng Jue leaning against the stair railing, clearly having been waiting for a long time.
Upon seeing Su Xi, the man hurriedly came forward, forced the woman back into the room, and closed the door behind him.
"Xiaoxi, be my girlfriend."
A hint of guilt flickered in the man's eyes, but his words remained cold, domineering, and utterly inhuman.
