Chapter 138 I Don't Want to Die in a Cold Hospital

Faced with Feng Jinchen's questioning, Liu Yufeng opened her mouth, quickly thought for a moment, and finally managed to sort out her thoughts.

The son still has feelings for that damned woman. If he finds out about this, he will definitely tell Su Xi immediately.

Feng Jue was exceptionally talented and a prodigy. The two old men were completely infatuated with him, but his coveting of his nephew's wife was an indelible stain on his reputation.

If this gets out, the two of them will definitely break off their friendship, and Feng Jue's only stain will be gone, right? Wouldn't her son be forever overshadowed and never be given important positions by those two old geezers?

Having figured out the key point, Liu Yufeng shook her head seriously, "Your dad doesn't allow you to tell. It won't do you any good even if you know. If you really want to know, ask your dad."

Suspicion flashed in Feng Jinchen's eyes. But since his mother wouldn't say anything, he couldn't cut open her stomach to take a look. As for his father, their relationship had long since cooled, and he would never bow down to that man.

Hospital.

Hearing the door open, Su Luochen glanced at it casually, continuing to play her game.

"Sis, what are you doing here again? Are you just reminding me that I'm about to die?"

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that the person following Su Xi didn't seem to be Feng Jinchen. He looked up casually and saw Feng Jue. The boy's eyes flickered, and he looked at Feng Jue's body and face a few more times.

Meeting Feng Jue's cold, obsidian-like eyes, so handsome that even he was momentarily moved, the boy curled his lip in disdain and turned his gaze back to the computer.

After finishing a game, Luo Chen lazily looked at Su Xi and asked, "Weren't we going to get a divorce today? Has the judgment been issued yet?"

Mentioning this, Su Xi's serious expression softened with a smile. "Download it, see for yourself."

After reading the verdict, the boy chuckled softly, his smile carrying a hint of mature satisfaction.

"I trust you and me. As for me, Dr. Li Yu should have told you, right? If a suitable match cannot be found within half a month, the chances of success will be greatly reduced."

I've made up my mind. If a suitable match can't be found within two weeks, I'll give up on treatment.

The tone was entirely commanding, not permissive.

Su Xi was both angry and anxious. "Luo Chen, I don't care how willful you are in other things, but you can't be willful in this matter. I won't agree to it."

"I'm the one who decides my own life, why don't you agree? Who do you think you are?"

The boy, also somewhat angry, looked up and saw the deep sadness and concern in Su Xi's eyes. A hint of guilt flashed across his own eyes.

With a sigh, the boy's voice grew low and hoarse, yet every word he uttered came from the bottom of his heart.

"Sister, even if we try to find a match again in two weeks, it won't work. I don't want to die in this cold hospital."

Almost from the time I can remember, I've been forced to stay in this cold hospital, forced to undergo endless surgeries. I may be alive, but my soul is long dead.

I want to make my own decisions one last time. The world is so big, I want to go out and see it.

Su Xi's eyes instantly burned, and her throat felt as if it were stuffed with cotton, sore and choking her so much that she couldn't breathe.

"However, even if the optimal treatment period has passed, there is still hope as long as a match is found..."

A warm, large hand suddenly gently touched hers, and a man's clear, gentle voice sounded in her ear.

“Xiaoxi, Luochen is an independent individual with his own thoughts. No one can truly empathize with someone else. He is suffering, and you must trust and respect his choices.”

Large, hot tears finally rolled down his cheeks, each drop landing on the back of Feng Jue's hand.

The man took out a tissue and naturally wiped away the woman's tears. "Actually, we both know that Dr. Li Yu also made it very clear that even if a match is found in half a month, there is no need for surgery. It will only make Luo Chen suffer from the disease again."

Xiaoxi, you want your brother to live, not to live with illness and then die with regrets, right?

The ward was unusually quiet for a moment.

Even Luo Chen put down his mouse, staring blankly out the window, lost in thought.

After the bitterness and shock in Su Xi's heart subsided, she realized that she was almost pressed against Feng Jue's chest, so she quickly moved to the side.

Her voice was still a little choked up, "Luo Chen, since you've made your decision, I respect your choice. If... if we really can't find a suitable match, I'll go with you. You can go wherever you want."

"No way." The boy turned his head, his eyes filled with undisguised disdain. "I don't want to go with you. I have someone else who does."

Su Xi choked for a moment, but a surge of joy welled up inside her. She was happy for her younger brother that he had made a close friend.

Who is this person?

"Keep it a secret."

"Okay," Su Xi said helplessly. After all, it's puberty; everyone has their own little secrets now.

The two talked for a while longer, then Feng Jue received a phone call and went outside to answer it.

Seeing the man leave, Luo Chen leaned closer and whispered mysteriously, "Sister, this man is a thousand times better than Feng Jinchen. If you really get together with him, I'll die in peace. Trust me, you're absolutely right."

"Don't say such unlucky things." Su Xi had no mood to discuss her and Feng Jue, her brows furrowed the whole time.

After Feng Jue finished his call, Luo Chen kicked the two of them out, telling them not to flaunt their relationship in front of him because he was going to play games.

In the enclosed elevator, Su Xi kept her eyes straight ahead, but her peripheral vision stole glances at the man's handsome profile. She hesitated several times before finally saying something, too embarrassed to do so.

Feng Jue smiled knowingly, his voice calm, "Don't worry, I will do my best to find a match. I just find this child pleasing to the eye, it has nothing to do with your attitude towards me."

A feeling of gratitude and surprise welled up in Su Xi's heart. If it were Feng Jinchen, he would definitely have threatened her to the death.

Suddenly, the man braced himself against the wall with one hand, pinning Su Xi against the elevator wall.

"But I still hope you'll treat me better."

Su Xi's gaze turned icy as she looked at the man. "You're absolutely right about one thing: people really can't truly empathize. If you had a seriously ill brother whose life hangs in the balance, you definitely wouldn't be in the mood to flirt with women."

"Teasing?" the man repeated with a self-deprecating tone, straightening up. His tall and slender figure made the space feel somewhat cramped.

He still offered an explanation, saying, "I just wanted to make you happy."

"Your way of making fun of people is really unique; it only bothers me."

The elevator doors opened, and Su Xi stepped out first.

"President Feng, please go and attend to your company matters. I don't want to be talked about behind my back. I'll take a taxi myself; I want to be alone for a while."

“…Okay.” Feng Jue had never imagined that he would one day compromise so much with a woman, and be so good-natured.

The man only drove away after watching the woman get into the ride-hailing car.

Su Xi got out of the car and had just reached the entrance of the residential area when a car screeched to a halt, nearly knocking her down.

The screeching sound of brakes made Su Xi gag repeatedly.

Su Xi turned her head to look over, her pupils shrinking slightly.
