Chapter 95 I love him terribly
Suddenly, someone pulled her into their arms.
Su Xi's heart skipped a beat. She turned around abruptly and, upon seeing the man's face, her expression turned even more unpleasant.
"Are you unhappy to see that your uncle has a girlfriend?"
Su Xi broke free from the embrace and pointed to a mother and daughter walking away. "I just heard them say that when I fainted at the Qu family's, it was my uncle who saved me, not you?"
Feng Jinchen's face stiffened for a moment, his eyes turning cold. "Of course it was me. I carried you to the sofa, fed you water, and watched you wake up."
Su Xi looked away weakly. This man was really stubborn and shameless.
Just as she was about to fall to the ground and be slapped by her wicked mother-in-law by the hair, it was her uncle, not him, who stuffed a piece of candy into her mouth to keep her alive as she was about to faint.
Sugar, no wonder her uncle gave her candied fruit.
Thinking about how she had repeatedly shown her cold indifference to her uncle, her heart ached.
“Su Xi, I told you long ago that he wouldn’t marry you, he was just playing around. If I hadn’t interfered, you would have been even more heartbroken if he had used you and then dumped you.”
The man's voice was cold. Ever since he saw Feng Jue pull out a chair for Luo Anya, Su Xi's depressed mood could no longer be hidden. His mood was also turbulent, and he had only just reached his limit by enduring it until now.
"I'm not sad because of him, but because of Luo Chen."
"You know in your heart who you're sad for." Mentioning Luo Chen made the man's attitude much better.
"I want to go back."
"You couldn't stand seeing your uncle being all lovey-dovey with another woman? Xixi, now you should understand how I felt when I saw you with your uncle, right?"
The man grabbed Su Xi's wrist. "You can leave, but go say hello first."
Feng Jinchen pulled Su Xi to Feng Jue and his wife, saying, "Uncle, Aunt, we have to go back first." He then nudged Su Xi, urging her to greet them.
Su Xi's gaze met Feng Jue's, but he remained unmoved, as if all their intimate moments were merely her memories. Su Xi felt both embarrassed and heartbroken.
She tried her best to remain calm, and moved her lips slightly, "Uncle, little..."
She looked at Luo Anya, her fingers clenching the hem of her clothes tightly without her realizing it.
Luo Anya's beautiful face flushed red, and she quickly stood up and took Su Xi's hand, "Oh, sister, just call me Anya. I told you we're not boyfriend and girlfriend yet, we can change it later when we become a couple."
She looked at Feng Jue, her eyes sparkling and radiant, "Brother A-Jue, don't you think so?"
The man nodded, his voice carrying a hint of doting affection, "Yes."
"Anya," Su Xi smiled, "we'll be going now, you two chat."
"good."
Su Xi didn't even glance at Feng Jue, and practically fled in panic.
The girl's smile was like sunshine, her eyes as bright as if she were wearing colored contact lenses, and the moment she looked at Feng Jue, they shone like stars. She must be madly in love with him. And he was too.
That's settled then.
Feng Jinchen remained silent, his mood not good. After dropping Su Xi off at the villa, he returned to the company.
There's no point in him staying if we live in separate rooms.
Su Xi arrived at the hospital early in the morning, bringing Luo Chen's favorite breakfast. It was Saturday, and she had originally planned to go to Color Technology, but with her brother in this situation, she wasn't in the mood.
The time was long and agonizing, but the surgery itself seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.
The door opened, and Feng Jinchen pushed it in. He looked at Su Xi and sighed, "Xi Xi, I'm sorry, we haven't found Feng Wenzhou yet. The surgery has to be postponed."
The attending physician walked in and said, "Mr. Feng, Luo Chen's surgery can be postponed for a maximum of three days. Otherwise, there's nothing I can do."
"Okay, you prepare wholeheartedly, I will definitely find the person."
Feng Jinchen said some perfunctory words of concern, but seeing the woman's long face, he left without lingering.
Luo Chen was always playing games, as if his life and death were as ordinary as eating and drinking.
If he weren't on an IV drip, breathing oxygen, and so thin, he wouldn't be any different from any other young PUBG player.
Su Xi pushed open the door and went out to the rooftop. Her phone was damp in her hand. Finally, she got through to Feng Jue.
Her younger brother only has three days. Feng Jinchen alone isn't reliable; she needs to have an extra layer of insurance.
The other end didn't answer immediately; it rang two or three times before picking up. "Su Xi?"
The other end was clearly on speakerphone, and along with the man's voice came a woman's cheerful laughter, "Brother Ajue, this video is hilarious! Oh, you're on the phone, sorry."
Upon recognizing Luo Anya, Su Xi felt her cheeks burning with embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Uncle, I dialed the wrong number."
She hurriedly finished speaking and hung up the phone. A cool breeze made her realize she was in the hospital; her brother's life was her top priority, not her pride.
Holding her phone, she paced back and forth, finally mentally preparing herself to make the call, when the man's call came in.
Looking at that familiar number, Su Xi's eyes immediately welled up with tears.
He quickly answered the call.
"Hey, Uncle."
"What happened just now?" The man's voice was cold and clear. It was very quiet on the other end, without any noise, obviously because the environment had changed.
"Uncle, Feng Wenzhou, who was supposed to be a match for my brother, took the money and ran away abroad to hide. We haven't been able to find him yet. The doctor said my brother only has three days left. If a suitable bone marrow donor can't be found, he'll..."
Su Xi's voice began to choke, and she couldn't continue speaking.
"I understand. It is indeed difficult to handle if they have fled the country. I will do my best in three days."
"Thank you, Uncle."
"They're all relatives, it's only right. But time is short, I can't guarantee anything." The man's voice was tinged with guilt.
The perfectly good match was ruined by Feng Jinchen, and he could imagine that Feng Jinchen was partly to blame.
"I'm already very grateful that my uncle can help me." Su Xi gripped her phone tighter and tighter. "If there's anything my uncle needs me to do, I will do my best."
"……good."
After the conversation ended, neither of them hung up; they could almost hear each other breathing through the microphone.
"Hang up." The two said in unison.
"Hang it up."
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Luo Chen's body had reached its limit of exhaustion.
Su Xi's heart gradually turned to despair, and her anxiety made her tremble involuntarily, her palms sweating profusely.
Feng Jinchen and the attending physician entered the ward together, both with somber expressions.
"Honey, I'm sorry, that kid is hiding abroad and we can't reach him from afar. We haven't been able to find a match for a new one either."
The attending physician glanced at the time. "I'm sorry, Mr. Feng, I've done my best. You'd better find someone else to treat Luo Chen's illness."
He absolutely cannot let the patient die in his hands; he must get rid of him as soon as possible.
"Can't we have the transplant later?"
The attending physician shook his head, "There is no need for a transplant."
Su Xi's tears streamed down her face. Feng Jinchen, filled with remorse, pulled the woman into his arms, his face grave.
Luo Chen, while engrossed in his game, glanced at them disdainfully and said, "What are you crying for? It's like you guys... won't die."
As the game ended, his hands trembled slightly as he adjusted his oxygen mask, his eyes unfocused on the screen.
His hands were truly bony, with clearly defined joints, and you could almost see the shape of the bones.
His voice was weak and intermittent, but his spirit was strong and resolute.
"Sister, I'm so tired of being stuck in this hospital all day, which smells like disinfectant. It's like a... square dog cage. I miss Mom and Dad too."
