Chapter 68 What Kind of Woman Is She?
When Feng Jue saw the two embracing, and Su Xi didn't seem to object, his expression turned even colder as he left the living room.
Su Xi was strolling in the garden when she was stopped by Old Master Feng as she passed the waterside pavilion.
The old man was usually kind and gentle to her, but now his face was long, and he asked bluntly, "Xiaoxi, tell me the truth, are you infertile?"
Su Xi unconsciously gripped the hem of her dress, but finally nodded.
The old man cared more about procreation than Feng Jinchen; only by acknowledging infertility could he prevent the possibility of his children being taken away from him in the future.
Upon witnessing Su Xi's admission, the old man's face completely fell.
"You've really disappointed your grandfather. If I had known you couldn't have children, all my previous efforts..." Old Master Feng suddenly stopped talking, his voice turning several degrees colder, "Since you can't have children, then vacate the position. Here's 20 million, let's part ways amicably."
"Grandpa means I have to leave with nothing?" Su Xi's tone turned icy.
"You still think 20 million isn't enough? You've already made Jinchen a second-time bride, what more do you want? You can't be too greedy."
The two men behind the big tree overheard the entire conversation.
Feng Jue glanced at Feng Jinchen with a playful look. The latter's gaze shifted, his fists clenched, and his face was full of struggle and hesitation.
Feng Jue sneered and strode over. Feng Jinchen hesitated for a moment, then quickly followed.
Seeing the two people approaching, Old Master Feng's grim expression softened somewhat.
Feng Jinchen interjected, "Grandpa, I like Su Xi. It doesn't matter if we can't have children. There are plenty of surrogacy agencies overseas..."
Before he could finish speaking, the old man glared at him coldly. Feng Jinchen's eyes darted around, and he immediately lost his confidence.
The old man scolded, "What do you know? What kind of woman is she if she can't carry on the family line? If you really like her, you can keep her outside; it's not like you haven't done it before. In short, you must find me a woman who can bear children."
The old man became increasingly angry as he spoke, and his voice gradually rose in pitch.
Feng Jinchen dared not speak. Everything he had now was given to him by his grandfather. If he angered the old man, removing him from the position of president would be a matter of a single word.
Thinking he had the whole situation under control, Old Master Feng snorted coldly, his majestic and sharp eyes fixed on Su Xi. Just as he was about to open his mouth to make trouble, Feng Jue's blatant sneer reached his ears.
Facing the old man's glare, Feng Jue not only didn't care, but instead sneered repeatedly, "Dad, when the two families got engaged, the Su family was at the height of its power, and you were eager to marry into it. Later, when the Su family declined, you, old man, kept your word and didn't object to the marriage, which earned you a lot of good reputation."
"Of course you're not that kind-hearted. The only reason you didn't call off the engagement was because you were afraid of gossip from your colleagues. Aren't you afraid now? Now that Su Xi's parents are dead and her younger brother is seriously ill, you're so eager to kick her out. Aren't you afraid people will talk behind your back and affect Feng's stock price?"
Feng Jinchen didn't dare to breathe loudly. When he saw the old man panting with anger, he silently pulled Su Xi back a few steps.
The old man, catching his breath, glared fiercely at his youngest son. "You unfilial son. I'll teach you a lesson someday."
He then turned and left. The timing is indeed sensitive; the divorce can wait.
When the news that Su Xi cannot have children is released, I believe that those people, especially the old patriarchs, will acknowledge his helpless decision.
Su Xi stared at the man's straight trouser legs, bit her lip, and wanted to thank him, but when she looked up and saw the man's cold and indifferent eyes, her heart trembled involuntarily.
The man's aura of complete aloofness left her speechless.
Seeing the woman with her head down and not saying a word, the man also turned away with a cold face.
“Xixi, I’m sorry. He’s my son and I’m my grandson. I could never speak to my grandfather like that. If I were him, I would have been even harsher.”
Su Xi looked at Feng Jinchen and found it somewhat amusing, but she couldn't show any expression on her face. She simply said coldly, "I want to be alone for a while. Call me when it's time to eat."
Watching Su Xi walk away, Feng Jinchen's face darkened. The old man was truly biased; if he had spoken like his uncle, he would have been kicked out of the family on the spot.
Moreover, he had already mustered up the courage to speak up for Su Xi, but she didn't appreciate it. The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became, and he punched a pillar.
Su Xi wandered aimlessly, and only after stepping off the arched bridge did she notice a tall figure under the tree.
Upon seeing Feng Jue, Su Xi instinctively wanted to run away, but considering the man's extremely cold attitude recently, she continued walking forward.
She thought a simple greeting would suffice, but the man walked over step by step, his captivating eyes fixed intently on her.
Su Xi clenched her fists and retreated step by step until she leaned against a tree.
The man's expression was aloof, his eyes calm and undisturbed, as if he were looking down on all living beings from the clouds, which made Su Xi feel at ease.
He was drunk last time, but not this time. Su Xi looked up at the man, watching helplessly as his incomparably handsome face pressed down on her.
She didn't dodge, but only slightly turned her head, as if he was about to warn her something again.
The next instant, her chin was gently pinched by the man, lifting her face up.
Before Su Xi could react, the man's handsome face loomed large in her eyes, and his burning lips instantly landed on hers.
After an almost retaliatory and brutal crushing, the man glanced down at the woman.
He bit down on her lip.
Su Xi stared wide-eyed in disbelief, her mind reeling.
Her first thought was that he must have drunk too much again.
Su Xi reached out and placed her hand against his chest, trying to push him away.
The man held her wrist lightly, but it made her unable to move.
The man also grasped her other hand and gently placed it on his other hand. His hot hand held Su Xi's two restless little hands, while his other hand supported the back of her head.
The man's handsome face loomed large in my eyes once more.
Forcing herself to regain her rationality, Su Xi clenched her fist.
A surge of immense resentment welled up within her, and Su Xi bit down directly.
The woman's strength was very light, as if she were yielding.
In response, an even fiercer storm ensued.
The sound of panting could be heard in my ears.
Su Xi felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. This was the old house. What did he take her for?
She closed her eyes and bit down hard with all her might.
He felt the pain and finally released the woman.
Blood dripped from the man's lips, running down his smooth chin and onto his white shirt, pattering and blooming like fiery red roses.
Seeing the almost penetrating wound, Su Xi's pupils contracted, and her heart trembled.
She didn't expect it to be this serious.
The man didn't seem to care at all, only turning his head to look at the woman, his voice slightly low and husky, carrying a tone of concern and warmth.
"Does it hurt? Where does it hurt?"
