Chapter 32 Separated?
After parking the car at the entrance of the building, Feng Jue saw in the rearview mirror that the woman was about to get out of the car looking silly. He frowned and said, "Don't move."
Seeing the man pick up a black umbrella, Su Xi cracked her knuckles. "Uncle, these few steps are no problem."
"Don't you want your hands anymore?" Feng Jue glanced at Su Xi with obvious disdain, a hint of languor and nonchalance in his eyes. His grip on the umbrella handle tightened slightly as he spoke, seemingly unintentionally, "Why did you move out? Is this... separation?"
Su Xi hesitated, unsure how to begin.
"Never mind, it has nothing to do with me anyway." Feng Jue got out of the car with an umbrella, opened the back door, and said coldly, "Watch your hands."
Su Xi was flattered. She had thought Feng Jue would let her hold the umbrella herself, but he actually held it for her. A warm feeling welled up in her heart. She thanked him and was about to get out of the car when she saw the man's expression darken again.
"Document folder".
How can such a foolish woman take care of herself if she moves out and lives alone? It's really worrying.
"Oh, oh." Su Xi quickly turned around, grabbed the file bag, and got out of the car. As she turned back to wave goodbye, she noticed that there were already rain stains on the man's tall back, while her body was completely dry. She subconsciously bit her lip.
As I climbed the stairs, my mind kept replaying the image of long, slender fingers holding a black umbrella, slowly raising it to reveal a breathtakingly beautiful face amidst the misty rain...
Every time she thought about it, her heart skipped a beat; it was simply a visual feast. Her uncle was indeed incredibly handsome.
As soon as she turned on the light, she received a call from Feng Jinchen, "Xixi, I'm downstairs, I'll pick you up for dinner."
Su Xi went downstairs and saw that Feng Jinchen had also parked his car at the entrance of the building and was holding an umbrella. When he saw her coming down, he quickly walked a few steps to help her carry her bag, then turned around and opened the car door. A black umbrella completely covered Su Xi's head, while he himself was in the rain.
Su Xi's heart skipped a beat, knowing that Feng Jinchen must have seen her uncle take her home.
Once in the car, Su Xi waited for the man to make his move, but when they arrived at the restaurant, he didn't utter a single word. Instead, he was incredibly gentle and attentive to her.
Su Xi narrowed her eyes suspiciously, not letting her guard down.
Seeing that it was a candlelight dinner and there was no one else besides the cellist playing live and a few waiters, Su Xi asked, "Did you book the whole place?"
Feng Jinchen smiled gently, "Yes, do you like it?"
Su Xi smiled without saying a word. She liked peace and quiet, but right now, what was making her unable to find peace and quiet was the man in front of her.
She also had a bit of a conspiracy theory. Could it be that Feng Jinchen booked the entire venue because he didn't want outsiders to know she was Mrs. Feng? After all, he always presented himself as single. When he did business with female partners, no matter how powerful they were, he always succeeded.
"Xixi, don't you like the jewelry I bought you? Why aren't you wearing it?"
"I really like it. It's just that my hand is injured, so I didn't wear it." Su Xi said indifferently. She had no doubt that if she said she didn't like it, this man would definitely not spend another penny on her.
Speaking of hands, the man's gaze fell on Su Xi's hands, and he seemed slightly dazed, his eyes filled with heartache and self-reproach. "By the way, Xi Xi, why didn't you tell me you went to the hospital to change your bandages today?"
It's finally here.
Su Xi glanced at him and asked coldly, "You saw it, so you're not going to suspect that I have something going on with my uncle again, are you?"
Feng Jinchen's handsome face flushed with embarrassment. He had indeed suspected something, and was convinced that the two of them were going to a hotel this time, but it turned out that he had been overthinking it again.
He was in the car at the time, scrutinizing the expressions of the two of them almost like a nitpicker. He only saw that his uncle was impatient with Su Xi, and his expression was very cold, while Su Xi was reserved and respectful towards her uncle.
Aside from the fact that the younger brother is more attentive to women, even with a magnifying glass, you can't see any ambiguity between the two.
Moreover, Wang Dong quickly sent over the hospital's surveillance footage. He saw Su Xi going to change her dressing alone, saw the pain on her face from time to time, and saw her trying to press the elevator button while holding something in one hand, only to drop the document bag.
He hadn't been there for his wife in such a sorry state; it was his brother-in-law who happened to be there and helped her. In that instant, he felt nothing but guilt, and all his doubts vanished.
"How could that be? Xixi, I will never doubt you again."
Seeing the shame and deep affection in the man's eyes, Su Xi was unconsciously moved and looked away.
Wearing disposable gloves, Feng Jinchen placed the peeled king crab on Su Xi's plate. "Xi Xi, your uncle has helped you many times, and we should express our gratitude. How about I take you to Mo Garden later to buy some gifts to thank you?"
"It's not good to bother him so late. You can thank him on my behalf."
Hearing Su Xi say this, Feng Jinchen became even more certain that there was absolutely no affair between the two, and his smile deepened.
"Okay, I will."
Su Xi lowered her eyes. To be honest, she should indeed thank her uncle. But every time she was with him, her heart would ache with tension. She didn't want to experience that feeling.
After dinner, Feng Jinchen took Su Xi to the nursing home to visit Grandma Su, and then took her home.
"Xixi, I've decided to start trying to win you back from today. Please give me a chance."
"Okay." Su Xi nodded without much hesitation. After all, she had already decided to live the life of a wealthy socialite who had lost her husband.
I just hope that what he's after is real money, not sweet talk that'll bring down a hornet's nest.
Su Xi went upstairs, feeling the burning, expectant gaze of the man behind her, but she still refrained from turning around. She, Su Xi, would never go back to an old flame.
Feng Jinchen stood downstairs, craning his neck like a statue waiting for his husband, watching the lights in the room turn on and then go out again. He figured Su Xi must have already gone to sleep, and she hadn't replied to the goodnight text he sent her.
With a soft sigh, Feng Jinchen turned and left, the moonlight casting a long, lonely shadow.
Before going to bed, Su Xi chatted with Ye Qingqian: Feng Jinchen was acting a bit strange today.
Ye Qingqian: How disgusting?
Su Xi: My uncle is acting strangely too.
Ye Qingqian: You seem to like me? (Eating a melon-eating face)
Su Xi was speechless: Go to sleep.
After driving away from the residential area, Feng Jue called Liu Cheng and said, "Tell me what happened to Su Xi's hand within half an hour."

Ji Feifei injured her right hand and it was already late at night when she got off work, her stomach was growling loudly.
She arrived at a fast food restaurant and instinctively tried to open the door with her right hand. A sharp pain brought her back to reality, and just as she was about to pull her hand back, the glass door was suddenly slammed shut.
Her hand was instantly clamped tightly, accompanied by a chilling sound of bones breaking.
Old wounds plus new ones, the excruciating pain overwhelmed her, Ji Feifei's face instantly contorted into a liverish color, she collapsed to the ground convulsing wildly, barely managing to catch her breath before letting out a heart-wrenching wail.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a generic-looking man in a delivery uniform glance at her indifferently before getting on his bike and riding away, quickly disappearing into the night.
Ji Feifei gritted her teeth in hatred, and saw that her fingers were hanging limply without support; they had actually broken.
Ignoring the pain and her curses, she got up, hailed a taxi, and rushed to the hospital.
