Chapter 156 An Eye for an Eye
Su Xi stared wide-eyed in shock. "Assistant Liu, are you alright?"
"Good, good, Su Xi, you've got some serious skills, even managing to seduce your secretary. I really underestimated you."
"Liu Cheng, I order you to leave immediately. Su Xi is still a member of the Feng family, and I have the right to enforce family discipline on her."
"Grandpa, the most important thing right now is to take care of President Feng, not to reprimand Su Xi."
The old man's eyes flickered, as if he had exhausted all his strength. His cane fell to the ground with a thud. He walked shakily to the bedside, sat down, and stroked his son's face with trembling hands.
A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes, and without turning his head, he said, "Take Su Xi back to the old house and lock her up."
Before Liu Cheng could say anything more, Su Xi shook her head at him and said to the old man, "Grandpa, can I wait here for Uncle to wake up?"
"Shut up, I'm not your grandfather. Now tell her to get out."
"Old man..." Liu Cheng was about to try to persuade him.
"Assistant Liu, you have injuries that need to be treated. Stay here and take good care of President Feng. Call me if you have any news."
Su Xi was pushed and shoved away.
Hearing that the old man had actually disciplined Su Xi, Liu Yufeng and the others were both curious and gloating. This was unprecedented, which meant that Su Xi must have done something that would anger both heaven and man.
The old lady went to bed early, and Liu Yufeng instructed the servants not to disturb her, then went to Su Xi's room with an arrogant air.
There were bodyguards guarding the outside.
"The old man said to lock her up, but did he say where to lock her up?"
The bodyguard shook his head.
A dark glint flashed in Liu Yufeng's eyes. Their attempt to forge a divorce agreement had backfired spectacularly; what was supposed to be a 10 billion yuan settlement had turned into a 20 billion yuan loss. This resentment had been building in her heart for a long time, and today was the day to settle her score.
"Foolish thing. She was being punished, and you thought she was on vacation, so you locked her in the wine cellar."
The bodyguard opened the door. Seeing Su Xi leisurely lying on the bed, Liu Yufeng was furious and threw the blanket off to the ground.
"How dare you sleep in bed?"
Seeing that Su Xi was lying down fully clothed, Feng Qinyue pouted, it was a real pity that the bodyguards and servants didn't get a good look.
Su Xi sat up and frowned when she saw a large group of people who looked hostile.
"Ms. Liu, I am still a member of the Feng family. If I were naked, wouldn't you be making the Feng family lose all face by lifting my clothes like this?"
"It was you who lost it, not me."
Su Xi sneered, "Try spouting this kind of nonsense in front of the old man and the old lady. They probably won't listen to you. You, the matriarch, are just being glib and stubborn, making yourself a laughingstock."
"you!"
"Su Xi, don't change the subject. What shameless things did you do in the Bai family that made the old man so furious?"
I noticed you're always dressed very warmly, even when you sleep. Could it be that your entire body is covered in marks from being with some random man?
“Yes, Qin Yue is right, all men should leave. Su Xi, take off your clothes right now so I can check. If I find out you’ve been unfaithful to my son, you’ll be sorry.”
A glint of joy flashed in Liu Yufeng's eyes. If Su Xi had also committed adultery, she would definitely preserve the evidence carefully, as it would be very useful during the second trial.
The man rushed out and slammed the door shut. Inside, seven or eight women stared at Su Xi menacingly, as if she were a lamb to the slaughter.
"Hold her down. You two, strip her clothes off."
"Ms. Liu, you are setting up a court without permission. This is illegal."
The servants were taken aback and dared not step forward.
"Su Xi, you cheated on me and you still think you're right? Now you know it's shameful? Then take your clothes off yourself. I've kept the evidence, so I won't make things difficult for you."
"I won't take my clothes off. If you accuse me of cheating, then produce the evidence."
“If you take your clothes off, there will be evidence.”
"Exactly, the more you don't take your clothes off, the more guilty you seem. Otherwise, why would the old man put you in solitary confinement for no reason?"
Faced with the mother and daughter's aggressive questioning, Su Xi felt a pang of bitterness in her heart.
For the past three years, she had carefully nurtured these two people, treating them like family and diligently working to cultivate their relationship. She never expected it to end like this.
Suddenly she remembered Lu Fan's words: rather than falling into the trap of self-proof, it would be better to retaliate in kind.
“Ms. Liu, I saw you having an affair with a man that night. If word gets out, you will be even more disgraced than I am for your disrespectful behavior as an elderly person.”
"You...you're talking complete nonsense."
Su Xi didn't miss the fleeting hint of guilt in the woman's eyes, and her tone became even more resolute.
“How could what I saw with my own eyes be false? If you continue to slander me, I will definitely spread this story, and then you can explain it to your son, your husband, and your in-laws.”
Liu Yufeng's face instantly turned extremely ugly.
Feng Qinyue raised her voice in anger, "Su Xi, how dare you slander my mother for cheating? In all my years, this is the first time I've ever heard of someone being so disrespectful to their mother-in-law. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?"
The noise was so loud that even the bodyguards outside could hear it.
Liu Yufeng shoved Feng Qinyue aside, sending the latter crashing hard into the wall.
"What are you yelling about? Saying things that didn't happen only makes people suspicious, don't you know that?"
Feng Qinyue's shoulder was almost dislocated from the impact. She glared at Liu Yufeng with a mix of grievance and indignation, then turned and left in a huff.
Liu Yufeng felt exhausted and just wanted to end the farce as soon as possible, so she "took her to the wine cellar."
"I can walk by myself."
In the corridor, Feng Jinchen approached with a cold face and frowned, "Mom, what's going on?"
"Why don't you ask the good woman you carefully selected? The old man was so angry at the Bai family, you couldn't possibly not know? It must be that this woman was caught cheating, do you even need to ask?"
Feng Jinchen frowned and looked at Su Xi.
He had inquired about the Bai family's affairs. The old man was tight-lipped, but he could guess that Su Xi and his uncle must have somehow gotten into a passionate affair and been caught, which was why the old man was so furious.
My uncle is probably still in that guest room being scolded by the old man.
He rushed back to question Su Xi about her shamelessness and lack of any sense of decency.
"Su Xi, do you have it?"
"No."
"She's just being stubborn. The old man will deal with her when he gets back. Don't be angry, it's not worth it."
Feng Jinchen grabbed Su Xi's wrist. "Proving it is simple. Let me see."
Su Xi glanced at Liu Yufeng subtly, her eyes full of threat.
Liu Yufeng knew that she was going to accuse her of adultery in front of her son. Did she have no shame?
"I've already checked, there's nothing. Since it's an affair, they certainly wouldn't leave any evidence, so it's pointless for you to look."
The old man said he was going to lock her in the wine cellar to reflect on her actions. So much time has already passed; if he finds out, he'll definitely be angry.
Seeing that her son didn't speak, Liu Yufeng quickly pulled their hands apart and shoved Su Xi away.
Feng Jinchen turned around, moved his lips, but ultimately didn't utter the words of pleading.
Su Xi was locked in the underground wine cellar. It was very cold inside, and the smell of alcohol made her feel dizzy and lightheaded after a while.
Fortunately, she found a storage room filled with miscellaneous items, with a small window overhead.
She cleared out all the clutter, disassembled the cardboard boxes of expensive liquors, laid them on the floor, lay down inside, and closed the door.
The temperature plummeted in the middle of the night, and Su Xi was woken up by the cold. One of her arms was frozen stiff like a rubber mallet and completely numb.
With her other hand trembling, she covered herself with the cardboard box and curled up into a ball.
In a daze, bang!
