Chapter 5 Take your filthy hands off
Feng Jinchen quickened his pace, unaware that inside the closing elevator doors, Feng Jue's casual glances at him from behind had turned sharp and unfathomable.
Locked onto by such a gaze, Su Xi's expression stiffened, and her breath caught in her throat.
What exactly did she do that night?
When the two arrived, the operating room lights were already off, and Grandpa Feng was wheeled out.
"Fortunately, he was brought in in time. The old man is fine and can go home after a few days of observation at the hospital."
"Thank you so much, doctor." Grandma Feng cried tears of joy.
In the hospital ward.
"Grandma, what's wrong with Grandpa?" Feng Jinchen asked.
"It's an old problem, a cerebral hemorrhage. If it's caught in time, it'll be fine." The old lady suddenly stared at Feng Jinchen's lips. "What happened to your lips?"
"...Oh, it's nothing, Grandma. Su Xi learned about fashion from abroad and wanted to get a lip piercing for me, but it didn't go well."
"Lip piercing?" Liu Yufeng glared at Su Xi, annoyed. "Why don't you get it done yourself? Isn't this just making things difficult for my son?"
"Alright, alright, don't worry about what's going on in their relationship." The old lady clearly believed her, but her gaze shifted down to Feng Jinchen's hand, and her smile froze.
"Who scratched the back of your hand?"
Liu Yufeng's eyes turned red with anger. She rushed over, grabbed her son's hand, and glared at Su Xi, demanding, "Was this your doing? How dare you?"
"No, Mom. Xixi wanted to adopt a stray cat, and I got scratched by it when I went to catch it."
"Oh, I see. Did you get vaccinated?"
"I hit him."
Relieved, Liu Yufeng glared at Su Xi with a warning, "Don't keep those cats and dogs. Taking good care of my son is your real job."
Su Xi remained noncommittal. Her grandmother had been good to her, and she didn't want to reveal the truth and worry the old woman.
Feng Jue glanced at the bite marks on Feng Jinchen's lips and the scratches on his hands, smiled playfully, and then stared lazily at Su Xi.
Others might not doubt Su Xi, but he had the privilege of witnessing her without her disguise.
That's the kind of thing that woman is capable of doing.
This couple is having a great time.
Feng Jue looked away in disgust, his expression growing colder and colder, even turning somewhat dark.
The patient needed to rest well. After talking for a while, the old lady chased them out one after another, saying, "You can all go about your business. Yu Feng can take care of things here."
"Also, you've all been staying at the old house for the past few days. If anything happens, you can come over together."
Inside the elevator.
Feng Qinyue scolded in an annoyed tone, "Su Xi, look at the state you've taken care of my brother. You're not even as good as a nanny."
"And your belly hasn't shown any signs of pregnancy in three years. I think you just can't have children. You're really just taking up space without doing anything."
"Alright, Qinyue." Feng Jinchen frowned. If there were children involved, Su Xi would never just agree to a divorce.
It seems he needs to step up his efforts.
The elevator doors opened, and Feng Jue was the first to step out.
"Uncle, wait for me a moment, can you give me a ride?" Feng Qinyue's voice was sweet, completely different from before.
"I'm busy."
Feng Jue drove off, his exhaust fumes spraying her face.
Feng Qinyue stomped her feet in anger. Her uncle used to treat her well, so why was he so cold to her now?
Feng's Building.
Feng Jinchen had finished processing some documents and was preparing to attend a dinner party when his assistant, Wang Dong, knocked on the door and entered.
"President Feng, Su Xi has submitted her resignation."
Feng Jinchen didn't pay any attention, signed the document, and casually tossed the resignation letter onto the table.
When she runs into trouble finding a job later, she'll naturally beg him to come back.
The Feng family's old house.
Su Xi was browsing job postings on her laptop, looking for a new job.
Feng Jinchen has already approved her resignation. In another week, after she finishes handing over her work, she will be able to leave the Feng family business.
Su Xi found a company she liked called Guangyao Technology, an artificial intelligence software company specializing in AI technology, which is exactly Su Xi's strength.
Su Xi sent her resume over.
I checked my watch; it was already 9 p.m., so I got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
As she came out in her bathrobe, the door suddenly opened, and Feng Jinchen, slightly drunk, barged in.
Su Xi's pupils contracted. Didn't he text that he was out socializing tonight and wouldn't be coming back?
Looking at Su Xi, who had just emerged from his bath, the woman stared at him like a startled fawn, her cheeks flushed like ripe peaches, utterly alluring.
She was pressing down on the hem with both hands, clearly indicating that she wasn't wearing anything.
Feng Jinchen's handsome face instantly turned lustful. He casually tossed his coat aside, and just as Su Xi turned to leave, her waist was gripped tightly by the man's large hand.
"Let go."
"Xixi, are you still angry?" The man asked, sounding aggrieved, deliberately lowering his voice to tease Su Xi.
Su Xi is a voice lover. She might have been moved by voices in the past, but now she is only angry. This man talks about cheating so casually, but he only wants to have that kind of relationship with her. What does he take her for?
"Take your dirty hands off."
Su Xi struggled to break free, but the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms. In the struggle, her bathrobe was mostly undone.
Feng Jinchen's breathing quickened instantly, and his eyes became even more unfathomable. He picked up the woman and threw her onto the bed, his tall figure looming over her.
"Feng Jinchen, don't touch me."
The man was clearly out of control and had no interest in comforting the woman beneath him. He said in a deep voice, "Stop it. Do you believe I'll cancel your brother's bone marrow match and kick your grandma out of the nursing home?"
"What gives you the right?" Su Xi's eyes were red.
Feng Jinchen easily subdued the uncooperative woman, and his actions changed from rough to gentle.
Just as his hand was about to reach up from under his bathrobe, a buzzing vibration suddenly came from the white wall in front of him.
It's the sound of a building vibration device.
Feng Jinchen's face instantly turned ugly. He had almost forgotten that this was the old house, and his uncle lived next door. Moreover, the soundproofing here didn't seem to be very good.
The man could only release Su Xi, straighten her disheveled bathrobe, and then send a message to Feng Jue, "Uncle, I was moving things just now, sorry. I'll definitely keep quiet in the future."
Nevertheless, the vibration device still went off all night.
Left with no other option, Feng Jinchen pulled Su Xi to the second bedroom, put on earplugs, and dared not make any further moves.
The next day, Feng Jinchen had business at his company and left early.
Su Xi went downstairs for breakfast and found that Feng Jue was also there. She hesitated but still went up to him.
"Um, Uncle, thank you so much for that day." Su Xi's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her fingers clenched tightly at her sides.
Are you afraid of me?
Feng Jue scoffed, "You weren't afraid at all that night." His voice was icy cold as he glanced at Su Xi indifferently before getting up and leaving.
Su Xi quickly followed, "Uncle, I have no memory of it, really. Did I...do something?"
"What do you think?" Feng Jue squinted.
Remembering the voice message she had mistakenly sent to Feng Jue, Su Xi's heart suddenly raced, and she blurted out...
"We won't do that kind of thing, will we?"
Feng Jue stared at Su Xi scrutinizingly. The woman's terrified expression didn't seem fake; it seemed she truly didn't remember anything.
He was taken advantage of and demoted in rank; no woman had ever dared to treat him like that before.
"You're dreaming."
The man spoke slowly and deliberately, almost through gritted teeth. The dangerous aura emanating from him made Su Xi's palms sweat.
Watching the man leave, Su Xi finally dared to breathe deeply, patting her chest with her delicate hand, "It's good that nothing happened."
The woman's relieved voice drifted into his ears, and Feng Jue suddenly stopped in his tracks.
