Chapter 199 It's Your Size
Su Zian looked much more haggard and shook his head blankly. "I just went to the restroom and suddenly everything went black and I fainted. When I woke up, I was lying at the scene of the fire and was immediately arrested."
"How can they just arrest people like that?"
Su Zian shook his head bitterly, "There were my fingerprints on the gasoline can. And Gu Chong, the manager of the Feng family branch, saw me set the fire with his own eyes."
Moreover, the batch of medicinal herbs that was burned happened to be the main business of the Su family. Since that entire batch of herbs was burned, the Su family could then inflate the price of their own herbs and make a fortune.
"So you have a motive for arson? This should just be a coincidence. Isn't there any CCTV footage to prove your innocence?"
Su Zian sighed heavily, "It's because of the surveillance footage that I have no way to defend myself. I've seen the footage; I was indeed the one who set the fire."
Su Xi's pupils contracted sharply. "Uncle, why did you do this?"
"I don't know, I really don't know I did that. Maybe I was sleepwalking. And..."
"And what?"
Su Zian shook his head. "In short, I was the one who set the fire, but I really don't know why I did it. If I were sober, I would never have done such a heinous thing."
He watched the surveillance footage, and the person did indeed look exactly like him. But he still felt that the person wasn't him.
But if he denies it, he will be beaten so badly that he feels like he's dying, yet there will be no visible injuries. He dares not recant his confession again.
Fortunately, he has that 30 billion, so he'll be fine.
Su Xi pursed her lips. "Uncle, I have a feeling there's something fishy about this. Tell me everything you can think of again in detail, don't miss any details."
“Okay,” Su Zi’an explained the matter again in detail. Su Xi recorded the conversation, intending to study it carefully when she got back and also send a copy to Attorney Qian.
“Xiaoxi, I heard from your aunt that she’s right. Don’t sign the letter of forgiveness. Money talks. Holding onto this money is a hundred or a thousand times better than a letter of forgiveness. With a little money, I can get out of prison.”
“Uncle, how can it be so easy when it involves 30 lives? Besides, the opponent is the Feng family.” Su Zi’an had obviously been brainwashed by Huang Sifeng, which made Su Xi feel helpless.
“Xiaoxi, I have my own ideas.” Su Zi’an was a little embarrassed, but still spoke up. “If you get that money, put it with your aunt and we will manage it for you.”
Su Xi clenched her fist tightly. "Uncle, this money is mine. Do you even want to take it for yourself?"
Su Zian's face darkened, and he became somewhat angry and embarrassed. "Xiao Xi, your father passed away early, so I am like your father. I am just looking after this money for you."
"I'm not a child anymore."
"Yes, but you can't deny that I'm being targeted because of you. We do business honestly and without offending anyone. Only you are stubborn and cause trouble, ruining a perfectly good situation."
Before, it only harmed the company, Luo Chen, and Grandma; now it's directly killing me, killing 30 people.
Su Xi's pupils constricted sharply, her nails digging deep into her flesh. Thirty precious lives lost—all because of her?
Seeing the woman's face turn deathly pale, Su Zi'an's tone softened, "Besides, I've heard that you're a good child, willing to give up that money for your uncle. Now I'm just not asking you to give up that money, but rather helping you keep it safe. Why do you disagree and think your uncle has ulterior motives?"
We are your elders, we've seen more of life than you've ever known. We'll hold onto this money for you, and once I get out of prison and my life is back on track, I'll pay it back to you.
Su Xi pursed her lips, her voice slightly hoarse, "Okay. But this money can only be kept in your account, Uncle."
“Sure,” Su Zi’an smiled with satisfaction. “Your aunt is just that kind of person, sharp-tongued but kind-hearted. She’s actually a very good person. You’ll know that once you get to know her better.”
Su Xi remained noncommittal. She'd deal with who got the money later, once she had it in her hands. She had a feeling this money wouldn't come easily.
"Uncle, are you implying that someone targeted you because of me, which caused this incident? Have you noticed something suspicious?"
Su Zian shrank back in fright and shook his head repeatedly. "There's nothing suspicious." He looked around before lowering his voice and saying, "Whether I was the one who set the fire or not, it was definitely not my intention."
He firmly believes he didn't do such a thing; how can he be forgiven for something he didn't do? But now all the evidence points to him, and he has no way to defend himself.
"I understand, Uncle. I will definitely find out the truth."
The two talked for a while longer, and when it was time, Su Xi was asked to leave the visiting room.
What did my uncle say?
"It's nothing. He didn't know he did that kind of thing. Maybe he was sleepwalking or something. It wasn't his intention."
Feng Jue nodded. "I will send someone to investigate. If it is indeed sleepwalking or something similar, the sentence will be lenient."
"Hmm." As she was walking, a woman carrying a baby suddenly walked over and accidentally bumped into Su Xi, spilling the milk she had just prepared directly onto Su Xi.
Large water stains flowed down her clothes, making her wide-leg pants transparent and clinging tightly to her legs.
The curves of her smooth, glossy thighs were instantly revealed.
Feng Jue's eyes darkened, and he quickly took off his suit jacket and wrapped it around the woman's waist, then naturally reached out and pulled open her tight trousers.
Su Xi's lips tightened instantly, and she subconsciously stepped back.
"I'm so sorry, miss, I didn't mean to. I'm so sorry." The woman quickly took out a tissue to wipe Su Xi's face.
The tissue was blocked by the seal.
Meeting the man's wise, cold gaze, the woman's eyes flickered a few times before she immediately looked away.
"It's alright, it's okay." Su Xi smiled at the woman, her gaze instinctively drifting towards the baby in the woman's arms. The baby was wrapped tightly in swaddling clothes, so she couldn't see the child's face.
The woman smiled apologetically and hurriedly left with her child.
"stop!"
Feng Jue's cold voice made the woman tremble.
Seeing that Feng Jue was about to argue, Su Xi quickly stopped him, saying, "I'm fine."
"That woman's eyes are suspicious; she's definitely up to no good."
Su Xi clearly thought the man was overthinking it. "Never mind, it's just a piece of clothing. Maybe he's afraid he can't afford to pay for it."
Seeing that the woman had already disappeared, Feng Jue had no choice but to give up. Only then did he realize that Su Xi was holding his arms with both hands, and his sharp face softened. "Go to the car and change your clothes."
"You have women's clothing in your car?"
Yes, and it's your size.
Su Xi's eyes flickered, and she quickly realized that she and Luo Anya had similar figures, so it might have been prepared for Luo Anya.
"Is it okay for me to wear it?"
Feng Jue looked at Su Xi as if she were an idiot, "These clothes were specially prepared for you, what do you think?"
Su Xi's cheeks suddenly flushed, and she quickly walked towards the car.
Just then, the grass rustled slightly, followed by a chilling sound.
Instinctively sensing danger, Su Xi's body instantly stiffened.
