Chapter 116 She's in My Arms

Chapter 116 She's in my arms

Su Xi let out a breath and took a taxi straight to the sanatorium.

The nursing home caregiver called, saying that Grandma was insisting on seeing her, saying that there was something important to discuss.

Su Xi was somewhat uneasy the whole way. When she opened the door to the ward and saw that her grandmother was in good spirits and her eyes were clearer than usual, she was relieved.

"Xiaoxi, come quick."

Su Xi went over and sat down on the edge of the bed. Grandma Su reached out and pressed on her shoulder, pulling her clothes down to reveal half of her shoulder.

Seeing the white patch on her shoulder, the old woman's eyes flashed with surprise. "Why isn't it there?"

Su Xi lowered her eyes, her pupils contracting slightly. She knew the old lady was looking at the birthmark on her shoulder. Her mother had instructed her on her deathbed not to let anyone know, so she could only gently coax, "Grandma, it's nothing? Are you confused again?"

"Is...is that so?"

"Yes, Grandma, the most important thing for you right now is to eat well and sleep well. Don't worry too much..."

Feng Jinchen rushed to Qiushui Villa and found Wu Yaoyao in the garden.

The woman, dressed in Hanfu (traditional Han Chinese clothing), with flowing sleeves and a long skirt trailing on the ground, swung on a swing, admiring her own reflection. Under the moonlight, she was breathtakingly beautiful.

Upon seeing Feng Jinchen, a look of surprise flashed across the woman's face. Just as she was about to get up, the man pressed her down, and a series of hissing sounds filled the air.

She was then forced to lie face down on a nearby nanmu wooden table by the man, with the fruit and pastries scattered all over the floor.

Afterwards, Wu Yaoyao climbed onto Feng Jinchen's lap and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Feng Jinchen took the suit jacket and covered the woman with it. He was quite restrained and didn't want to be seduced again.

Seeing that the woman hesitated, Feng Jinchen raised an eyebrow. "Speak your mind."

Wu Yaoyao bit her lip, and encouraged by the man's gaze, she finally said hesitantly, "I've heard people say more than once recently that Manager Shen likes Su Xi and that the two have an ambiguous relationship. How is that possible? What more could Sister Su want from you? It must be a rumor."

Even if Sister Su is innocent, she should still keep her distance from other men. If I were her, with you, Jin Chen, no other man could come within three meters of me.

Feng Jinchen's face immediately darkened.

When that guy surnamed Chen didn't even give him face that day and forcefully brought Su Xi back to Guangyao, he knew there must be something fishy going on, but he didn't expect it to be true.

He was already very annoyed and angry lately, and Su Xi just had to add fuel to the fire. She really didn't care about him at all.

The thought of that old woman, Qiao Li, made Feng Jinchen even more agitated. He hadn't figured out how to conduct himself tomorrow; he couldn't very well wash himself clean and send himself over—that would be an utter disgrace.

Wu Yaoyao reached out to smooth the man's brow, but her wrist was grabbed and violently thrown away.

Before she could react, her coat was pulled off, and she was thrown to the ground, covered in grass clippings.

Feng Jinchen raised his hand to put on his coat, his entire body impeccably dressed in a suit, exuding an aura of unapproachability.

The man looked down at the naked woman.

"From now on, only I am allowed to touch you, and you are not allowed to touch me, understand?"

Wu Yaoyao almost broke her fingernails, but still raised her head pitifully and nodded devoutly, "I understand."

Feng Jinchen turned and left, saying, "I'll come back later."

“Okay, I’ll wait for you.” A hint of surprise flashed in Wu Yaoyao’s eyes.

Su Xi left the sanatorium and took a taxi to the entrance of her residential compound.

As the car drove away, Su Xi was about to walk towards the residential area when a bright, blinding headlight came from behind.

Su Xi quickly dodged, but the car was heading straight for her again, its headlights so bright she couldn't open her eyes.

Her heart sank to the bottom. This was clearly a deliberate attack on her; she was finished for today.

Despair, palpitations... a mix of emotions surged into her heart in an instant. Her mother had also died in a car accident. Her mother must have experienced this feeling of desolation and near-death.

Almost instantly, the car sped past her, knocking her into the green belt.

The screeching sound of brakes filled my ears.

Su Xi breathed a sigh of relief. Just as she got up, she saw the car door open and several men in black get out. A black hood was put over her head, and they dragged her into the car and threw her to the ground.

That familiar feeling... Su Xi subconsciously thought it was another black bread van, the kind with the seats reclined. Her heart skipped a beat.

The floor was clearly very soft, covered with an expensive carpet.

A hand pulled her up, and she sat on a man's lap.

The hood was pulled off, and she squinted her eyes. The moment she saw the man in front of her, she let out a long breath, and her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, was finally at ease.

Feng Jinchen was very satisfied with the woman's reaction.

He used to avoid him like the plague, but now seeing him is like seeing a relative, which has calmed his anger down considerably.

The woman's long hair was messy but had a unique beauty, and his hand around her waist tightened.

Seeing the man's unpleasant expression, Su Xi still questioned him, "Do you know you almost killed me just now?"

The man didn't take it seriously and reached out to remove the leaves from the woman's hair. "I'm teaching you a lesson. Don't go out alone at night. You'll get into trouble. You won't be so lucky next time."

Who did you go to see so late? Your uncle?

"No, I went to a sanatorium."

"Is that so? I'll send someone to investigate. If you're lying, the consequences won't be good."

Su Xi didn't speak. She could tell that the man was emotionally unstable today, his expression teetering on the edge of madness and darkness. She could only obediently sit on the man's lap.

Feng Jinchen dialed a number with one hand, "Uncle, did Su Xi just come to see you?"

There was a pause on the other end of the line, followed by a cold, indifferent voice from the man, "No. She's missing? I'll send people to look for her right away."

"No need, she's in my arms. Xixi, call him Uncle."

Meeting the man's cold, threatening gaze, Su Xi pursed her lips and said, "Uncle."

"Did you hear that? Are you relieved now?" Feng Jinchen's tone was smug, his handsome face full of petty triumph. "Uncle, you..."

He was only halfway through his sentence when the other end hung up, leaving Feng Jinchen with a bellyful of words stuck in his throat.

He looked at Su Xi, "That doesn't necessarily mean you weren't going to see him just now. Maybe you two were putting on an act together. Or maybe you went to see Manager Shen. Or maybe it was Feng Jingnian."

Su Xi looked at the man in front of her in disbelief.

"I didn't know until you told me, you've cheated on me quite a few times." The man's playful expression suddenly turned cold, and he grabbed Su Xi's chin.

Why aren't you explaining?

"Because you can't wake someone who's pretending to be asleep."

Feng Jinchen smiled, turned off the interior lights, and the car suddenly became dark and ambiguous.

"I believe you. I just miss you."

Feng Jinchen buried his head in Su Xi's chest, and only slowly raised his head after a long while, his emotions appearing much more stable.

"Can't we just be okay?"

"Put your arms around my neck." The man took Su Xi's hand and placed it on his shoulder.

"Call me Jinchen. You haven't called me that in a long time."

Where are we going?

"Don't change the subject."

Moonlight, mixed with the neon lights near and far, streamed through the car window, outlining the man's handsome and deep features. His melancholy eyes, coupled with the beauty mark under his eye, made him appear deeply affectionate and devoted.

Su Xi saw this but only felt wary, her fists clenched at her sides. She moved her lips and said, "Jin Chen."

The man's eyes softened instantly, and his heavy breathing could be clearly heard in the quiet carriage.
