Chapter 504 I Will Never Like You Again

Chapter 504 I Will Never Like You Again

Meanwhile, at the Shen family villa.

Shen Li went downstairs to get a drink of water and habitually glanced at Wen Youyou's room.

It was pitch black inside, without the nightlight she usually kept on.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she pushed open the door.

Sure enough, he didn't come back.

Shen Li was startled and quickly took out her phone to call Wen Youyou, but the phone was switched off.

She panicked completely and started banging on Shen Xin's door.

"Slap! Slap! Slap!"

Shen Xin had just fallen asleep when she was woken up by the noise, and her anger flared up instantly.

He flung open the door, revealing himself wearing only a loosely draped bathrobe, his chest half-open, and his face terrifyingly dark.

"Chen Li, do you know what time it is?"

"Brother!" Shen Li was almost crying with anxiety. "Youyou hasn't come back yet! She said she was going to come see you tonight, and it's almost midnight now. It just rained heavily outside, and I can't get through to her on the phone!"

"Didn't come back?"

These three words instantly dispelled Shen Xin's drowsiness and sobered her up considerably.

His mind went blank for a moment, then he turned around and went back to his room. "I'll change my clothes and go find her."

The two hurried downstairs, and as soon as the living room light was turned on, the roar of a motorcycle came from outside.

A blinding beam of headlights approached from afar, finally coming to a steady stop outside the villa's ornate iron gate.

Shen Xin strode to the door and looked out through the window lattice.

A tall, slender figure sat astride a motorcycle, wearing a helmet so his face was obscured, but it was clear he was a boy.

Wen Youyou got off the back seat, handed him the helmet, whispered a few words, and then turned and walked towards the gate.

OK.

That's really great.

In the dead of night, she went on a date with some random guy.

The fire in Shen Xin's heart suddenly flared up to the top of his head, burning away all his reason.

Not long after, Wen Youyou entered the password and pushed the door open to come in.

She wore a large men's leather jacket, and the dress underneath was wet, dirty, and clung to her body in a wrinkled mess. Her hair was wet and stuck to her cheeks, and she walked with a limp, looking utterly disheveled.

"Youyou!" Shen Li rushed over to support her. "Where are you hurt? How did you get like this? My brother and I were just about to go out and look for you!"

Wen Youyou didn't answer, but simply broke free from Shen Li's hand and walked step by step to Shen Xin.

She looked up, her eyes bloodshot.

“Shen Xin,” she began, omitting even the word “brother,” her tone filled with barely suppressed anger and accusation, “I called you thirty-seven times, why didn’t you answer?”

Looking at her grotesque appearance, Shen Xin felt a mix of anger and inexplicable panic, but the words that came out of her mouth were icy cold and devoid of any warmth.

"If I didn't want to answer, I didn't."

These six words shattered Wen Youyou's heart in an instant.

Shen Xin didn't stop. He stared at the coat that didn't belong to her and continued to torture her with the sharp blade of his words.

"Wen Youyou, who gave you the audacity to fool around with a man until the middle of the night? Look at the state you're in now! Do you really think all men in the world are virtuous gentlemen? If something really happens, you'll have nowhere to cry!"

He immediately launched into a barrage of accusations and lectures, without asking what had happened or showing any concern for why she was injured.

Wen Youyou's broken heart sank straight to the bottom.

She bit her lower lip hard, tasting the metallic flavor of blood, and used all her strength to keep her tears from falling.

She looked up at him, and the despair in her eyes inexplicably burned Shen Xin's heart.

In the end, she said nothing, turned around, walked past him, and limped towards the stairs.

"Brother! Say less." Shen Li couldn't stand it anymore and quickly chased after her to help her up.

"Not going to speak? You're using silence to fight me, are you?" Her silence completely ignited Shen Xin's anger.

He couldn't help but yell at her retreating figure, "Wen Youyou! Since you're so opinionated, move out of the Shen family tomorrow!"

"As long as you don't live here, I have no problem with where you want to go or who you want to fool around with!"

Wen Youyou stopped in her tracks.

She slowly turned her head to look at him.

Was he trying to get rid of her?

He actually spoke up himself and told her to leave?

"Brother! What nonsense are you talking about?" Shen Li screamed.

Shen Xin ignored her and coldly looked at Wen Youyou: "She's an adult now, and her three-year term is up. She's no longer my responsibility. I'm setting her free."

Wen Youyou felt a numb pain in her chest, and her fingernails dug deeply into her palms.

In the end, she only uttered a single word.

"good."

Then, without looking back, he continued upstairs.

Shen Xin was so angry that he went crazy. He took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and took a deep drag. The smoke blurred his gloomy face.

In the bathroom, warm water washes over my body.

Wen Youyou submerged herself in the bathtub, closed her eyes, and finally let her tears flow freely.

The terrifying experience of the night replayed in my mind frame by frame.

That jerk driver kept chasing after her, and pounced on her after she fell. His rough hands had already grabbed her collar, and he was about to reach out and tear off her skirt...

Just then, a beam of bright car headlights shone in.

After a screeching sound of brakes, a tall figure jumped off the motorcycle, grabbed the driver, punched him, and then promptly called the police.

The man took off his helmet, shook his head, patted the rain off his shoulders, revealing a handsome, refined face.

Wen Youyou then realized that it was Xiao Zihan.

Her high school classmate, Xiao Zihan, who sat two rows behind her, and whom she hadn't spoken more than a few words to in three years.

He was this year's top science student, first in the entire school, a famously aloof academic genius, and it seems... he got into the same university as her.

After the police finished handling everything, they took the wailing driver away.

Xiao Zihan took off his leather jacket and tossed it to her, then handed her a helmet, his words concise and to the point.

"Get in the car."

She put on the coat that still held his warmth and got into the back seat of his car.

The night wind was cold, making her shiver all over.

The motorcycle drove for a while, and then Xiao Zihan's deep voice came from ahead.

"If you're cold, you can hug me."

She didn't hug him, but instead rested her face against his back, turning all her fear and grievances into silent sobs.

Xiao Zihan felt the trembling and dampness on his back, and his heart stirred slightly.

Throughout her three years of high school, this girl was known throughout the entire grade as a "workaholic." He saw her studying alone in the library countless times late at night. Everyone assumed that she was so hardworking because of her poor family background, but little did they know that she actually lived in one of the city's most prestigious villa districts and had connections to the Shen family.

He dared not imagine what would have happened to her if he hadn't taken a shortcut home because of the rain and happened to pass by there that night.

Just thinking about it makes me shudder.

The next morning, the Shen family was having breakfast; the whole family was present.

Wen Youyou carried a 24-inch suitcase and walked downstairs step by step.

She is not tall, but she is quite strong.

The suitcase, packed full, felt as light as an empty shell in her hands.

She packed everything she needed to.

She didn't take anything she shouldn't have.

For example, the expensive watch that Shen Xin gave her, as well as those limited edition bracelets and expensive skincare products, all lay quietly on her dressing table.

All four people in the restaurant looked over at the same time.

Mother Shen was the first to stand up, her face showing surprise.

"Youyou, you just came back from Sunshine City, where are you going for another trip?"

Wen Youyou's gaze slowly swept over the four faces.

Her father was stern yet loving, her mother was always gentle, Shen Li protected her like an older sister, and there was also... Shen Xin.

It's been three years.

They treated her like family, and she never felt like she was living under someone else's roof.

If she hadn't fallen for Shen Xin, she probably would have stayed in the Shen family forever.

Unfortunately, there are no "what ifs" in life.

Wen Youyou walked to the center of the restaurant and bowed deeply to everyone.

She raised her head, her eyes clear, and spoke earnestly and sincerely.

"Uncle, Aunt, Brother Shen Xin, Sister Li."

"Thank you for taking care of me over the past three years."

"Thank you for accompanying me as I grow up and enter adulthood."

"You taught me many lessons, and showed me that even without my parents by my side, I can still be treated gently by this world."

"I'm moving out. Take care."

After he finished speaking, the restaurant fell silent.

Shen Xin's face instantly darkened.

This little black ox really holds a grudge.

He only said a few words to her yesterday, and she took it seriously?

Mother Shen hurried forward, took her hand, and looked at her with eyes full of reluctance.

"Youyou, why so suddenly? You're leaving like this? Isn't school still a month away?"

“When Xin’er brought you back, she said you would only stay for three years, but your aunt has long treated you like her own daughter. As long as you like, you can stay in the Shen family for as long as you want.”

Wen Youyou's eyes instantly welled up with tears.

She took a deep breath, suppressing the overwhelming bitterness.

It turns out that saying goodbye properly really takes a lot of courage.

"Auntie, I'll come back to see you when I have time."

Shen Li frowned and asked, "If you leave now, where will you stay?"

Wen Youyou said.

“I’m going to Fengcheng to find my brother. He will take care of me.”

She gently pulled away from her mother's hand and glanced at the silent Shen Xin.

"Take care, everyone. I'm leaving now."

After saying that, she turned around and walked out without any hesitation, pulling her suitcase.

Shen Xin didn't say a word from beginning to end, his handsome face was as black as hell.

Shen Li couldn't stand it anymore and glared at him fiercely.

"Brother, are you just going to let her go like that? Aren't you going to try and coax her back?"

"Don't you realize how harsh your tone was last night?!"

Shen Xin uttered a cold sentence from his throat.

"She's an adult now, and it's her freedom to go wherever she wants."

Shen Li rolled her eyes in exasperation.

"It takes four hours to fly to Fengcheng! Are you sure you want her to go alone?"

"You know she's afraid of heights!"

Father Shen, who had been silent until now, finally spoke.

"Xin'er, take her there."

His tone left no room for argument.

"We must hand her over to Wen Yifan safely, lest something unexpected happen along the way."

Shen Xin thought for a moment, then stepped out.

On the tree-lined path outside the villa, Wen Youyou was standing by the roadside, looking down at her phone to call a car.

A pair of custom-made leather shoes stopped in front of her.

She knew who it was without even looking up.

She was all too familiar with the man's clean, cedar scent.

Shen Xin looked down at her, his voice cold and harsh.

"I'll take you to Windy City. What time did you book your flight?"

Wen Youyou looked up at him. Today, Shen Xin was wearing a simple white shirt that outlined his broad shoulders and slender waist, exuding the charm of a mature man.

She gave a slight twitch at the corner of her mouth.

"No."

"I am the master of my own life. I choose who I want to be with and who I don't want to be with."

Shen Xin's anger was instantly ignited, but he suppressed it fiercely.

He stared at her and asked, word by word.

"Wen Youyou, are you serious?"

"Where did you get the idea that I wasn't serious?" Wen Youyou met his gaze without flinching.

She paused, then her tone suddenly became lighter.

"Shen Xin, I know you don't like me, and I won't bother you anymore."

"You're right. What if I meet a guy I like in college? Wouldn't that be a perfect opportunity for a passionate romance?"

"Why should I hang myself on an old man like you?"

Old man?

He is only 29 years old.

Old man?

Shen Xin's handsome face was so dark it was unbearable to look at, and the air pressure around him was frighteningly low.

Wen Youyou, however, shrugged nonchalantly and delivered the final blow.

"Anyway, I'm not picky. It's just a relationship. It's the same whether I date you or any other man."

"Beep beep." The car she booked arrived.

Wen Youyou turned around, deftly opened the trunk, and tossed the rather heavy suitcase inside with one hand.

Then I opened the car door and got in.

She looked at the ashen-faced man outside the car and left with her last words.

"Shen Xin, I will never like you again."

Bang.

The car doors slammed shut.

Shen Xin stood there, her face so somber it could drip water.

For the first time in his 29 years of life, he felt like he had been played for a fool.

The little black ox who followed him around and he couldn't shake her off actually said he didn't like him anymore.

They ran away?

...

In the car, Wen Youyou took out her phone, dialed a number, and burst into tears, "Sister Xiaoya, I've been dumped, boohoo..."

Tang Xiaoya had only been awake for a short while and was still groggy. She threw back the covers, trying to get up, when the man beside her suddenly pressed down on her, saying, "Baby, sleep a little longer..."
