Chapter 485 I'll Give You Back Your Child
Tang Xiaoya was stunned for a moment. Why would he come?
"Are you alright?" His voice rang in her ear.
"It's nothing," she replied softly.
"Grenade!" his accomplice suddenly shouted.
Yan Jin quickly tackled Tang Xiaoya to the ground, the stones on the ground digging painfully into her shoulders.
Yan Jin's voice carried a hint of anger, "Leave no one alive, Ge Er, they must be alive."
Gunfire erupted again, and screams pierced the night sky before quickly fading away.
The entire mountaintop was pitch black, filled only with the sounds of fighting and wailing.
Finally, everything quieted down.
Just then, a roar came from the sky, and a beam of light shone down from the helicopter, illuminating the entire mountaintop.
Only then did Tang Xiaoya see everything clearly.
Yan Jin and six other tall men, dressed in camouflage combat uniforms and carrying advanced weapons.
They were all wearing night vision goggles, just like a professional combat team.
Apart from the Southern Gang members, all the enemies on the scene were wiped out, each one wounded in the hands and feet, howling in pain on the ground.
Yan Jin helped Tang Xiaoya up and quickly took off his combat jacket, wrapping it around her.
Tang Xiaoya rushed to Zhang Xiuyi's side immediately and helped her up, asking, "Mom, how are you?"
"It's okay, Mom is okay. Are you alright?" Zhang Xiuyi was still in shock. Fortunately, Yang Ting had protected her.
Good heavens, she actually survived a gunfight.
As Yan Jin walked over, she gave orders, "Clean up the scene. Hand over Ge Er and his gang directly to the authorities. Make sure to take good care of my mother-in-law."
The words "mother-in-law" made both Zhang Xiuyi and Tang Xiaoya pause for a moment.
One of the men quickly replied, "Brother Jin, don't worry, you can trust us to handle things."
After all, they were a top-tier team that had been fighting for ten years. These few thugs were nothing to them.
Yan Jin reached out and picked up Tang Xiaoya, letting her hang on him.
Tang Xiaoya was startled. "What are you going to do?"
Yan Jin held her in one arm and grabbed the rope ladder lowered from the helicopter with the other. The helicopter took off and lifted them away.
"Ah!" Tang Xiaoya screamed, grabbing his neck tightly with both hands and stepping haphazardly on one section of the rope ladder.
This man is insane!
"Baby, don't be afraid, hold me tight."
His voice was deep and powerful, close to her ear.
"Open your eyes and look at me."
Tang Xiaoya slowly opened her eyes, met his deep gaze, and then followed his line of sight downwards.
The entire city of Sunshine lay at her feet, a dazzling sea of lights.
The wind whistled past her ears, lifting her long hair and the hem of his clothes. She was held tightly in his arms, suspended between heaven and earth, her heart pounding wildly.
The world was now down to just the two of them.
The helicopter eventually hovered on the rooftop helipad of the Vanstar Hotel.
Yan Jin helped Tang Xiaoya land, and then the helicopter flew away.
Tang Xiaoya asked, "Why did you bring me here?"
"Go to sleep," he uttered with ill intent.
Tang Xiaoya rolled her eyes at him and turned to walk towards the stairs.
Yan Jin grabbed her, "You can't leave, you still need to take care of the child tonight."
Tang Xiaoya's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? You brought the child with you?"
Yan Jin said lightly, "Otherwise what? What if we leave her alone in Qingcheng and she runs into human traffickers again?"
Tang Xiaoya was speechless for a moment.
Okay, at least he has some brains.
Upon entering the room, they saw Xiao Tangxin and Yun Mu playing with building blocks.
"Mommy!" The little guy saw her and ran over with his short legs.
Tang Xiaoya picked up the child and kissed her soft little face several times.
"Dad!" Tang Xin reached out to hug Yan Jin again.
Yan Jin didn't take it, and said in a deep voice, "Daddy is dirty. I'll hug you after I take a bath."
So he turned and went into the bathroom.
Tang Xiaoya carried Xinxin into the room, her eyes glancing at the black shirt carelessly tossed on the floor.
The clothes had several large tears on the shoulders and back, and the edges were a dark color.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Is he injured?
She placed Xinxin on the bed, quickly walked to the bathroom door, and turned the doorknob.
The bathroom was filled with steam.
The man, shirtless and muscular, leaned against the sink. Water droplets clung to his bronze skin, revealing smooth, powerful muscle lines.
He was holding a towel and struggling to wipe the blood seeping from his left shoulder.
Tang Xiaoya's pupils suddenly contracted.
Why didn't you say you were injured?
Her tone carried an urgency she herself was unaware of.
"Should I take you to the hospital?"
"It's alright."
Yan Jin turned around, his dark eyes fixed on her, and casually threw the red-stained towel into the trash can.
"Just help me clean it up."
Tang Xiaoya quickly turned around and went out, then soon came back in with a first-aid kit.
She made him turn around and carefully examined his wound.
They were all cut by shrapnel from grenades, four or five in total, some of which were even deeply embedded in their flesh, leaving them bloody and mangled.
He was injured because of her.
This realization caused a dull ache in her heart.
She deftly cleaned his wound with saline solution, then picked up tweezers and aimed at one of the fragments.
"Bear with it."
The words had barely left her mouth when she swiftly struck down with her chopsticks.
"Hmm."
A painful groan escaped Yan Jin's throat, her muscles tensed instantly, and blood gushed out in a rush.
In the past, she would have fainted from fright at the sight of such a scene.
But now, she's used to it.
The brothers in the Southern Gang often got into fights and were injured, so she had long since learned the full set of first aid and bandaging techniques.
She quickly disinfected the area with a cotton ball, sprinkled on some white hemostatic powder, and then prepared to treat the second piece.
This piece is embedded even deeper.
Her hands began to tremble uncontrollably.
Yan Jin took in her tightly furrowed brows and momentary hesitation in the mirror.
"Fear?"
His voice was a little hoarse.
She didn't speak, but simply pursed her lips.
"Feeling sorry for her?" he asked again, his eyes fixed on her through the mirror.
"Shut up."
Tang Xiaoya squeezed out two words through gritted teeth, steeled her resolve, and with a burst of strength, quickly pulled out the largest fragment.
Yan Jin let out another muffled groan, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
"Yan Jin, thank you," she said softly as she disinfected his wound.
If it weren't for him, she would never have been able to escape so easily tonight.
"All the evidence against Ge Er has been submitted to the authorities." He looked at her focused profile in the mirror. "He'll never get out of here for the rest of his life."
"Xiaoya, promise me you won't put yourself in danger again."
"This is my own business, you don't need to worry about it."
Tang Xiaoya replied coldly, but her hands remained meticulous as she carefully sprinkled hemostatic powder and then took out gauze to bandage him.
The gauze was wrapped around his broad shoulders and back in circles.
She had to get very close, close enough to smell his masculine scent, a mixture of shower gel and a faint smell of blood.
The taste made her heart race.
As Yan Jin looked at the woman pressed against her chest, her body gradually became less calm.
"Tang Xiaoya, I need painkillers."
His Adam's apple bobbed up and down, and his voice grew even deeper.
Tang Xiaoya looked up at him, meeting his burning gaze in the mirror.
"I'll have someone buy it for you."
"Eat now." With that, he turned around abruptly, and before she could react, he grabbed the back of her head with one hand and cupped her face with the other, pressing his burning lips to hers.
"Hmm..."
Tang Xiaoya never expected this man to be so shameless.
She punched his chest lightly, but didn't dare to hit him hard, afraid of reopening his newly bandaged wound.
Yan Jin sensed her soft heart and hesitation, and was overjoyed. He kissed her more deeply, with an irresistible sense of possessiveness.
The next second, she felt her body lighten as he picked her up and placed her on the cold sink.
He held her waist with one hand, and his tall body forcefully kissed her, causing her to lean back.
Before long, both of them were breathing erratically.
"Baby, I miss you so much."
His panting, electrifying, shot into her ears, and his large hands began to roam freely over her body.
"Yan Jin, stay away from me!"
Tang Xiaoya's face instantly turned bright red. She shoved him away, jumped off the sink, and ran out without looking back.
Damn it.
What happened to her just now?
She was led astray by him step by step and almost completely succumbed to his charms.
In the bathroom, Yan Jin watched her fleeing figure, licked the corner of his lips, and curled a triumphant smile.
She's softened.
At night, Xiao Tangxin slept in the middle of the two-meter-wide bed, like a small Chu-Han border.
Tang Xiaoya and Yan Jin were sleeping on either side of each other.
She deliberately kept a great distance from him, almost falling off the bed.
The next morning.
Tang Xiaoya woke up to a warm breath, opened her eyes, and found herself nestled in a broad and sturdy embrace.
The man's strong arms wrapped around her waist possessively, their chests pressed together, as intimate as they had been on countless nights when they had slept in each other's arms.
Meanwhile, little Tang Xin, who was supposed to be on the "Chu River and Han Border," had somehow rolled to the far left of the bed, curled up into a tiny ball, with a baby blanket neatly draped over her.
Tang Xiaoya's face flushed red instantly, and she quickly scrambled out using both hands and feet.
Before she could climb out, a large hand on her waist suddenly tightened, pressing her back into his embrace.
A man's deep, sleepy voice sounded above her head.
"You think you can just run away after taking advantage of me?"
"I...I don't know how I ended up sleeping here with you."
She was so nervous that she could barely speak.
Yan Jin suddenly rolled over, pinning her beneath him, his arms bracing around her sides, completely enveloping her in his shadow.
His dark eyes were fixed on her as he asked, word by word.
"Xiaoya, can you love me one more time?"
Tang Xiaoya looked at him with a serious expression.
"Yan Jin, it's impossible for us anymore. I don't love you anymore."
She insisted that she no longer loved him and did not want to get entangled with him anymore.
“I hurt you because of my prejudice in the past, and now I want to make amends.” Yan Jin’s affectionate eyes were fixed on her. “I will give you back a child.”
After saying that, he lowered his head and kissed her lips...
