Chapter 365 The Three Obediences and Four Virtues

Chapter 365 The Three Obediences and Four Virtues

Liang Yizhi was completely speechless by her words, and his heart inexplicably tightened.

Even with the loss of memory, some hidden emotion was still touched by those words, and a dull ache rose in my heart.

Looking at his furrowed brows and the expression of wanting to say something but unable to articulate it, Ji Ying couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.

No matter how infuriating the man in front of her was, he was someone she had once loved wholeheartedly and trusted.

Now that his memory is being controlled, isn't he, in a sense, another victim?

So she softened her tone and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Liang Yizhi was reminded by her words and then remembered the important matter.

"I discussed it with my older brother yesterday, and the whole family went to Wangqiu Villa today. I didn't allow anyone to not inform you, so... I came to pick you up myself."

He did take her words from yesterday to heart.

"Let's go then."

Ji Ying picked up the ginger tea on the table and walked out while drinking it.

Jiang Ran drove them leisurely towards Wangqiu Manor.

In the spacious back seat, Ji Ying sat a bit far from Liang Yizhi, and the two didn't say a word after getting in the car, which made the atmosphere inside the car fall into a subtle silence.

A little while later, the car drove onto the elevated road.

Liang Yizhi took a food box from the insulated box beside him.

Inside, there were several crystal-clear pieces of yam and jujube paste cake, garnished with delicate osmanthus flowers and goji berries, still steaming hot.

"Here, this is what I bought at Shuhua Academy," he said, handing the food box to Ji Ying. "Secretary Yue said their pastries are refreshing and not greasy."

Ji Ying was sipping ginger tea when she smelled a sweet fragrance wafting from the car. Her gaze fell on the delicate pastries, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

Lately, she has become increasingly sensitive to greasy foods, and the smell of this jujube paste cake is quite pleasant.

So she reached out and took it, pinched off a small piece and put it in her mouth to taste it; it did taste quite good.

The yam puree mixed with sweet jujube paste had a delicate and smooth texture, which soothed her empty stomach that was churning from morning sickness.

After taking a couple of bites, she suddenly realized something, looked up at Liang Yizhi, and stared at him with a questioning look in her eyes.

"Is my aversion to greasy behavior really that obvious?"

Liang Yizhi looked at her, his lips curving slightly, not with a distant and polite smile, but with a hint of gentle mischief.

"I didn't see it, I felt it."

He reached out and wiped the crumbs from the corner of her mouth, then leaned closer and whispered to her, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you're a picky eater."

Ji Ying was slightly taken aback.

A strange ripple swept through my heart.

His clumsy attempts at thoughtfulness, despite his amnesia, are rather endearing.

Perhaps it was because of the ginger tea, but in no time at all, she finished the jujube cake in the food box.

Liang Yizhi was astonished by her appetite.

He looked at the empty food box and exclaimed in surprise, "It's all gone? You didn't leave me a single piece?"

Ji Ying licked the lingering sweetness between her fingers, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"You think I eat too much? I'm not asking you to support me. I'll transfer you the money."

These words, half-joking and half-barbed, caused Liang Yizhi's feigned surprise to slowly fade.

He looked out the window, his gaze deep and thoughtful.

"I... won't stay like this forever."

Ji Ying opened her mouth, but ultimately didn't respond to him.

How do I answer?

Right now, he seems like a considerate husband, but once he returns to Pang Yin, his drug-controlled mind and the sense of responsibility bound by his so-called "promises" will regain the upper hand, making him forget all the tenderness he feels at the moment, and he might even turn his attention to protecting the person "he needs to take responsibility for".

So even though she knew he was just trying to make her happy, she still couldn't respond to his words.

What should have been a 40-minute walk turned into an hour and a half.

Jiang Ran drives extremely steadily, especially on national highways, where her speed is so low that it almost makes the car behind her sound its alarm.

Liang Yizhi was also an extremely patient person, and he didn't urge them at all the way.

When they arrived at Wangqiu Mountain Villa, Pang Yin had already been led by Liang Weiyue to play several activities.

At this moment, the group was sitting in the rest area next to the horse farm, "waiting" for the two of them.

As they approached, Pang Yin immediately put on a bright smile and quickly walked towards Liang Yizhi.

Once again, disregarding Ji Ying's presence, she reached out to try and link arms with Liang Yizhi.

"Yizhi, you've finally arrived! Were you stuck in traffic on the way? I was worried that President Ji might not want to come and that it caused a delay."

Her words, seemingly concerned, were actually meant to dampen everyone's spirits.

Just as her hand was about to touch Liang Yizhi's arm, Liang Yizhi turned his body to the side very naturally, avoiding her contact, and walked straight to the tables and chairs in the rest area.

Pang Yin's hand froze awkwardly in mid-air, and her heart sank.

What happened?

Is the drug's effectiveness weakened, or is the dosage insufficient?

Suppressing her surprise and suspicion, she leaned in again and, in a voice only the two of them could hear, tentatively asked with concern, "Yizhi, the medicine I reminded you to add that night, I couldn't find the used syringe in your study the next day. Did you administer the medicine to yourself?"

"I've already injected it and disposed of the waste, but... would you really like me to increase the dosage?"

Pang Yin's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly smiled and said, "I was worried the dosage wouldn't be enough, and you'd have a headache again. You know how awful a headache is..."

Her voice softened, carrying a hint of heartache.

Liang Yizhi didn't reply. He walked to the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

When Liang Jian saw Ji Ying approaching, he stood up and gave her his seat.

Liang Weiyue was displeased with his son's behavior, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he said to Liang Yizhi, "Look how thoughtful Pang Yin is. She always cares about your health. This kind of thoughtfulness is very rare."

After saying that, he changed the subject, his face darkened, and his gaze fell directly on Ji Ying, who had just sat down.

"Look at the time! Because of you, everyone's been waiting here for nothing!"

Ji Ying raised an eyebrow slightly, her tone calm, "Did I make you wait? So filial, are you my son?"

Liang Yizhi was picking up a bottle of purified water when her words caused a flash of amazement to cross his eyes, which then quietly disappeared.

Liang Weiyue was so choked up that his face turned red. "You...you don't even know what the Three Obediences and Four Virtues are!"

Ji Ying looked at him with a calm and composed expression.

"Am I not good enough? I'm never proactive, never gentle, never polite. I can't be hit, can't be scolded, can't be spoken to, and can't be provoked. Tell me, in which aspect have I failed?"
