"He was walking towards the bus stop, but I don't know which bus he took."
"Is he the only one?"
"Yes, he answered the phone while walking. It seemed to be a call from someone named Yaoyao. I think that's what he called her." The staff member squinted his eyes and recalled.
Yaoyao?
After thanking the other party, Wen Xi immediately got back into his red jeep.
She had sent the girl home during the parent-child meeting and still remembered the name of the community. After notifying He Tingyan, she followed the navigation to go there first.
There was no light in Yaoyao's house and no one answered the door.
Thinking about what happened last time, it seems that the adult in this family is working overtime again.
The two children were nowhere to be seen in the playground, so Wen Xi went to the guard room to inquire.
Xingzai did come here and didn’t go out, but now not only him, but even Yaoyao is nowhere to be seen.
"Why don't we go look for the neighbor across the street? The kid's father often works overtime, so he usually asks someone to look after him."
"Across the street?"
"Yes, that couple is very nice. They are happy to help take care of Yaoyao, a single-parent child."
"Okay, thank you."
Wen Xi returned to the apartment building.
There was a noise at the opposite door, but it stopped immediately after she knocked, and no one came to open the door.
There must be someone inside.
She was about to continue knocking when a voice suddenly rang out from behind: "Who are you looking for?"
Wen Xi looked back.
She was a middle-aged woman with an old-fashioned bun, a dark complexion and a blank expression.
"Are you the owner of this house?"
"Yeah, what's wrong?" The woman responded, looking at her with a look full of vigilance and precaution.
"Yaoyao is at your house, right? I'm Yaoyao's sister, and I'm here to take him home."
The woman frowned and said, "Let me open the door first."
"good."
Wen Xi walked aside.
The woman took out the key from her bag, the door creaked open, and a ray of light came through the gap.
Wen Xi stood behind her and was about to raise her foot when she suddenly shuddered as if she saw something. She then quickly went into the house and turned around to close the door, as if she didn't want anyone to come in.
Sensing something was wrong, Wen Xi quickly held the door open with his hands.
"What are you doing? Let go! I don't even know you. Who are you looking for in my house?"
"Don't be nervous, I'm not a bad person. If you don't believe me, just call Yaoyao's classmates and you'll know. I'm his sister."
"What classmate? There's no such person at home. Let's go!"
The woman ignored what Xi said and just kept trying to chase the man away, pulling the door handle hard.
This reaction was too intense, and seeing the other party's sudden change in expression, Wen Xi instinctively felt that something was wrong.
She stood on tiptoe and looked inside.
The woman was taller than her, but through the gap she could still see that there was someone on the sofa in the house.
Two little people were lying on it, struggling.
Although neither of them was facing this way, she saw the schoolbag beside her with the panda head pendant on it. She made it herself, one for each of them, so it was impossible for her not to recognize it.
"Xingzai! Yaoyao!"
The person was clearly inside, but you lied to her and said there was no one there. What does that mean?
Wen Xi was no longer polite to the woman. He pushed hard with both hands, causing the person behind the door to stagger.
He kicked the door open and strode in.
"What are you doing! You are trespassing... Lao Zeng, Lao Zeng, come here quickly!" The woman shouted into the house while trying desperately to pull Wen Xi.
Wen Xi shook her hand off and walked to the sofa in a few steps.
When he looked down, he finally understood why no one responded when he called them several times at the door.
