☆72. Chapter 72 Peaceful Coexistence

Chapter 72 Peaceful Coexistence

Shen Zhichu stayed at home for five days and the wound had begun to scar. It didn't hurt but it was a little itchy. At this rate of healing, she would be able to go out for an interview and a job in two days.

Li Jingshen went to the hospital to pick up Xia Mingyue, and before leaving, he repeatedly emphasized that she should be more careful.

Shen Zhichu agreed verbally but didn't care in her heart. At five o'clock in the afternoon, she began to prepare dinner as usual.

Aunt Wang was still her assistant. She was in charge of cooking. It took a long time to prepare three dishes and one soup. It was almost eight o'clock when they were done.

The doorbell rang, and Shen Zhichu called Aunt Wang to open the door, but she waited for a long time but there was no response from Aunt Wang.

Shen Zhichu took off her apron and went to open the door. She was injured and walked very slowly. After opening the door, Shen Zhichu saw Li Jingshen first and then looked at Xia Mingyue behind him.

Xia Mingyue was obviously still very afraid of her. She huddled behind Li Jingshen and looked at Shen Zhichu cautiously.

Shen Zhichu stood at the door, smiled and said, "Xia Mingyue, congratulations on being discharged from the hospital."

Xia Mingyue nodded and lowered her brows without saying a word. She looked so aggrieved that one would think that Shen Zhichu had bullied her again.

Shen Zhichu looked Xia Mingyue up and down, and suddenly said: "Fortunately, you took sleeping pills. If you cut your wrists, you probably wouldn't wake up for more than an hour."

The words that Shen Zhichu said were like needles, piercing Xia Mingyue's most guilty spot.

Shen Zhichu is not a saint. All her injuries are caused by Xia Mingyue. She can't act magnanimous, nor can she pretend that nothing happened.

Xia Mingyue's expression changed. She looked at Li Jingshen and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that his expression was normal. "It was my impulsiveness that caused you trouble."

Shen Zhichu smiled and said, "It's not a big deal. It would be a big deal if you lost too much blood. You would have to let me donate blood for you."

Li Jingshen went in and pushed her. The force was not strong, but Shen Zhichu had an injury on her leg and the push made her stagger forward and almost fall.

Li Jingshen said in a warning tone: "Don't bring up that topic. Go in and eat."

Chen Zhichu didn't say anything, but Xia Mingyue, who was walking behind him, started to act like a good person. She tugged at Li Jingshen's sleeve and said softly, "Chen Zhichu is also concerned about me. You promised me on the way that you wouldn't get angry..."

Shen Zhichu walked into the restaurant and paused after hearing the green tea line. The corners of his mouth curved into an arc. It would be a shame if he didn't learn acting if he pretended to be so good.

Before Shen Zhichu could retract the hatred in his eyes, Li Jingshen who came in saw it.

Li Jingshen stared at Chen Zhichu with cold eyes. He was not actually very angry in his heart. Pushing Chen Zhichu was nothing more than a warning to her not to be petty. After all, she would live with Xia Mingyue in the future, and he didn't want her to be domineering and cause trouble.

"Mingyue doesn't even bother to pursue you, yet you're throwing a tantrum here."

Shen Zhichu pretended not to hear, washed his hands, and filled a bowl of soup to drink.

The meal was peaceful and quiet, with no extra sounds except the clinking of dishes and chopsticks.

After dinner, Li Jingshen and Xia Mingyue went out for a walk, and Shen Zhichu seemed redundant sitting on the sofa reading a book.

After Aunt Wang washed the dishes, she saw Shen Zhichu still sitting alone on the sofa, and hesitated for a moment before asking, "Miss Shen, do you need me to help you up?"

"No, I can walk." Shen Zhichu put down the book and slowly went upstairs.

Now that her legs are able to walk and run, going out to work should not be a problem.

As soon as Shen Zhichu got upstairs, she heard some noise coming from downstairs. She leaned on the railing and looked down. It was Li Jingshen and Xia Mingyue who had returned from a walk.

Aunt Wang made some lemon water and brought it to Xia Mingyue. It was obviously a normal thing, but Shen Zhichu felt something was wrong.

Aunt Wang's attitude towards her and Xia Mingyue was completely different.
