Chapter 10 Did he regret it?

Chapter 10 Did he regret it?

"What do you mean by 'learning from me'?"

Shen Li didn't even care that he had changed his way of addressing her to Li Li.

"When have I ever broken a contract?" Shen Li asked.

Lu Yanchuan looked at the expression on her face, his eyes seemingly full of interest.

He picked up his phone and dialed Zhou Yan's number.

He only gave one instruction: "Bring the things to the inn."

Then I hung up the phone.

Although Shen Li was completely confused, she knew that someone like Lu Yanchuan wouldn't make things up on a whim.

She didn't know what he had asked Zhou Yan to bring. Shen Li felt a little uneasy.

But Lu Yanchuan didn't bring it up again, only lightly tapping the edge of the bone china plate with his chopsticks.

It made a few crisp sounds, indicating to her, "Try the steamed chicken."

What time is it? Still steaming chicken?

Shen Li bit her lip and glanced at him.

But there's no use in being anxious right now, so we might as well eat our fill. Shen Li ate her meal with a huff.

This contrasted sharply with Lu Yanchuan, who sat opposite her eating slowly and deliberately.

Zhou Yan arrived at the perfect time; she was full when she came.

Shen Li's emotions have also calmed down considerably.

"Mr. Lu, Madam."

"Okay, show the things to her." Lu Yanchuan sipped his after-dinner tea and gently raised his chin toward Shen Li.

Zhou Yan took a document out of her briefcase and placed it on the table in front of her.

Shen Li paused, her gaze falling on the document.

She recognized the document, of course, because it was the prenuptial agreement she had signed with Lu Yanchuan.

The terms and conditions not only cover the details of their original collaborative project, but also the details of their post-marriage collaboration.

It also includes the division of marital property, the obligations to be fulfilled during the marriage, and the duration of the marriage.

Five years.

Zhou Yan said, "Madam, according to the agreement you and President Lu made, the term of your marriage is five years. If either party does not wish to continue the marriage at the end of the five years, the marriage can be terminated."

Shen Li frowned slightly and nodded. "Yes, so now that it's been five years, it's perfectly reasonable for me to file for divorce."

Zhou Yan stated matter-of-factly, "In fact, there are still three months left before the agreement expires."

He pointed to the date on the agreement, "To be precise, there are still one hundred days left."

Shen Li was taken aback, and only then did she see where Zhou Yan was pointing.

Good heavens, a prenuptial agreement!

There's a damn cooling-off period hidden in the terms! The official agreement only starts to run after the cooling-off period ends!

Shen Li frowned and looked at Lu Yanchuan, "What...what do you mean by this?"

Lu Yanchuan raised an eyebrow. "The agreement hasn't expired yet, Shen Li, so I said I learned how to break the contract from you."

"Lu Yanchuan, what exactly do you want? It's only been three months, what's the point of dragging this out?"

Shen Li took a deep breath and laughed self-deprecatingly, "Besides, wouldn't it be better if I offered Song Xiaowan a spot?"

Lu Yanchuan's deep eyes narrowed, his expression slightly displeased.

For the past five years, Shen Li has been an obedient little rabbit, rarely expressing any objections to him.

But now it seems they no longer want to leave any room for maneuver.

Shen Li chuckled lightly, "Moreover, if I may be frank, Lu Yanchuan, there are many unreasonable clauses in our agreement besides the distribution of property, which are unlikely to be recognized by law."

Lu Yanchuan forced a cold smile. "Is that so? Then you can give it a try."

Shen Li pursed her lips and remained silent.

Over the years, Shen Jiaquan has relied on Lu Yanchuan's financial support, and this support is entirely based on her marital relationship with Lu Yanchuan.

If I were to say now that it's unreasonable, it would be like crossing the river and burning the bridge. Given Lu Yanchuan's temperament, such behavior wouldn't end well.

Shen Li calmed down. "What exactly do you want?"

"I don't like having my contract broken, especially since there are still three months left on the contract."

Lu Yanchuan, still holding his cup, looked at her and said, "Then you can be a good wife for another three months."

Shen Li frowned deeply; she simply didn't understand why he was doing this.

All I can think is, "If you're upset because I brought up divorce first, then I can..."

Lu Yanchuan put down his teacup and stood up. "Just let me know when you've thought it through. I have a meeting, so I'll be going now. I've already paid the bill, so please enjoy your meal."

After saying this, Lu Yanchuan walked towards the door, his tall and upright figure pausing as he passed by Shen Li.

The crisp scent of cedar drifted into Shen Li's breath.

"Consider it within three days." Lu Yanchuan's lips curled into a smile, and the subtle details of his expression made the usually aloof CEO look somewhat sinister at this moment.

The use of a title rarely used for Shen Li made it seem even more nonchalant: "Li Li, my patience is limited."

Shen Li sat in the inn for a long time, sighed softly, packed some food, and went to Qu Xiang Company.

Qu Xiang had a wad of paper stuffed in her nose, with faint traces of crimson on it. She was talking to a secretary with a worried expression.

Seeing Shen Li approach, she even smiled, her eyes crinkling. But Shen Li couldn't manage a smile. "I've already met Lu Yanchuan."

Qu Xiang's expression froze.

Shen Li frowned. "Why didn't you tell me he was blackmailing you?"

“If I told you, wouldn’t that be letting him succeed in blackmailing me?” Qu Xiang sighed. “His condition is that he wants to talk to you.”

Qu Xiang asked with some concern, "You met with him? What did you say? Did he make things difficult for you?"

Shen Li frowned and repeated Lu Yanchuan's meaning.

Not to mention Shen Li, Qu Xiang was also completely baffled.

"Wait, what does he mean by this?" Qu Xiang frowned. "Is he regretting it?"

"Regret what? Regret not mentioning divorce to me first?" Shen Li had long since given up hope on Lu Yanchuan, and her words were devoid of any emotion.

Qu Xiang opened her mouth but no sound came out. After a while, she finally said, "Is he... reluctant to part with you?"

Shen Li was taken aback by his words, then laughed, "He can't bear to part with me? You'd be more likely to think that pigs can fly."

Qu Xiang couldn't laugh when she heard this. After enduring the hardships of the Lu family for the past few years, Shen Li's inner thoughts had probably been worn down.

“Don’t compromise, Lili,” Qu Xiang said. “At worst, I’ll just quit this project.”

"I don't believe it. I'm going to sell the Changyuan shares he gave me." Shen Li gritted her teeth. Selling them for 30 million would be enough to cover the initial investment in Qu Xiang's new project.

Qu Xiang laughed and touched her face. "Don't talk nonsense. Keep it for yourself. I'll figure something out. Just do what you need to do and don't worry about me."

How could Shen Li not consider it?

She was just worrying when some clueless person came knocking on her door.

"I think we should meet, so I took the liberty of asking you out, Miss Shen."

Song Xiaowan sat opposite Shen Li and spoke.

Shen Li twitched the corner of her mouth, looking at her coldly, "You know this is presumptuous. I don't think there's anything to say to you."
