Chapter 72 A Kiss in the Dark
Shen Li reacted extremely quickly, raising her hand to press down Lu Yanchuan's cup.
Lu Yanchuan looked at her.
"Your rash hasn't even gone away yet, and you're drinking?" Shen Li suddenly realized that the glass contained beer, so she quickly stopped him.
He moved his cup aside, poured him another glass of juice, and placed the less spicy hot pot in front of Lu Yanchuan.
Lu Yanchuan smiled slightly, showing no objection, and the two enjoyed their meal peacefully.
The taste of this spicy hot pot was surprisingly good, although it wasn't a delicacy and couldn't compare to the sumptuous feast we had at the Shen family restaurant.
But the two of them ate quite well and weren't upset.
After the meal, Shen Li took out the dessert called 'Rose Planet'.
I hadn't originally planned to take any photos, but after thinking about it, I figured the value of this thing probably included its value in taking photos.
After thinking for a moment, I took out my phone and snapped a few pictures.
Lu Yanchuan wasn't interested in these fancy gadgets, but he was more interested in the 'remodeling of a broken cake' that Shen Li had tinkered with earlier.
"I don't want this. What about the cake you just made? I'd like to try that one."
Shen Li originally just wanted to avoid wasting anything, so she casually tinkered with it, intending to eat a couple of bites during breaks from pottery making to replenish her sugar levels.
I didn't expect Lu Yanchuan to be interested.
"I'll go get it."
They quickly took the box out.
The round food storage container was still a mess, and it didn't look very appealing.
But with so much cookie crumbs and nut crumbs mixed in, it somehow looks messy but actually quite delicious.
Shen Li turned around to get a plate and a spoon, but just a short while later, the lights in the reception room suddenly went out.
"Huh?" Shen Li was stunned, and when she turned her head, she saw a small spark.
Lu Yanchuan's figure and face were faintly visible in that small firelight.
He looked rather lazy and even sluggish, but he was holding a small, already lit birthday cake candle in his hand.
It was stuck into that messy pile of cake.
He raised his handsome eyebrows, seemingly quite satisfied, and looked up at Chen Li, "Come on, make a wish."
Shen Li blinked, her gaze somewhat dazed, "This candle..."
"I just picked them up casually. The boxes are all open, and only one or two are still usable," Lu Yanchuan said. "Hurry up and make a wish. You can't expect me to sing you a song, can you? That would be too much to ask."
Shen Li walked over and looked at the faint candlelight. She felt a mix of emotions, unsure whether she was happy or disappointed.
She clasped her hands together and made a simple wish—that her life would get better and better in the future.
With a whoosh, the candle was blown out.
Suddenly, everything went dark.
In the darkness, Shen Li heard Lu Yanchuan's footsteps and assumed he was going to turn off the lights.
But soon, a tall figure suddenly approached in the darkness. The familiar scent of cedar wafted into Shen Li's breath.
Warm breath brushed against her face, and the next second, her chin was pinched, and her lips felt hot.
Lu Yanchuan's kiss was neither as light as a feather nor as fierce as if it wanted to devour someone whole.
A very delicate kiss.
He pried open her teeth and plunged in, as if trying to capture every breath she had.
Shen Li opened her eyes wide in the darkness. Gradually, her gaze seemed to adapt to the darkness, and she was able to vaguely make out the sharp contours of Lu Yanchuan's incomparably handsome face.
Because I can see clearly now, it seems like my dazed state of mind can become clearer.
Shen Li slowly raised her hand, pressed it against Lu Yanchuan's chest, and slightly pushed him away, ending the kiss.
Lu Yanchuan lowered his eyes and gazed at her, not pressing her any further. After staring at her for a few seconds, he seemed to still have something to say.
He then gave her a very light peck on the lips.
The sucking sound was quite obvious, and Shen Li's blinking speed increased.
"Let's eat cake." Lu Yanchuan squeezed her shoulder for a moment, then let go, turned on the light, and went to the table.
Shen Li stood there, silently adjusted her breathing, calmed her emotions, and walked to the table to cut the cake out of the box for him.
The taste was surprisingly good. Lu Yanchuan, with a plastic fork in his mouth, raised an eyebrow.
"Stop playing in the mud, I'll open a cake shop for you," Lu Yanchuan said.
Shen Li's emotions had calmed down considerably. Upon hearing this, she bit down on the thick straw of the rose milkshake, her teeth slightly squeezing the straw until it was slightly flattened.
He blinked and said, "Then you might have to wait in line."
Lu Yanchuan looked at her and saw that she had her chin slightly raised, looking somewhat proud.
“Someone has already offered to invest in me to open a cake shop,” Shen Li said.
Upon hearing this, Lu Yanchuan bit his fork and curled the corner of his mouth. "Really? Then where am I in the ranking?"
"Third," Shen Li said.
“I don’t like being third.” Lu Yanchuan thought for a moment, “I’m not third in this matter of building the kiln, am I?”
Shen Li thought about it. Although Brother Xun had mentioned that he could invest in her to open a pottery studio or build her a kiln, she still remembered that Brother Xun had also mentioned that he could invest in her to open a pottery studio or build her a kiln.
But when it comes to action, President Lu is indeed...
Shen Li gave Lu Yanchuan a thumbs up, affirming his status as the number one kiln builder.
After finishing her milkshake, Shen Li stood up. "Okay, give me the medicine."
Shen Li was concerned about his red rashes that hadn't been treated with medicine.
But when I said that, it felt a bit far-fetched. Someone like Lu Yanchuan, if he were the kind of person who would carry medicine with him at all times, wouldn't leave it unapplied on his shoulders and back.
"I didn't bring it." Lu Yanchuan said matter-of-factly. He thought for a moment, "Should I ask Zhou Yan to bring it?"
Shen Li thought to herself that Zhou Yan had it tough too. He had just gotten off work and might have just gotten home before heading back to work.
"I'll order some takeout. Have a seat and wait a bit," Shen Li said.
Lu Yanchuan didn't seem unhappy at all. He rested his hand on the table, propped his chin up, and looked at her.
Shen Li lowered her eyes, carefully selected the ointment on her phone, placed the order, and then quickly tidied up the table.
Then she stopped.
She was already getting ready to go to the studio to work on her pottery, but Lu Yanchuan was still here. It didn't seem right to leave him all alone in the reception room.
Shen Li pondered for a moment, then looked at him, "Lu Yanchuan, I'm going to the studio to work on a potter's wheel now. Would you like to watch?"
Lu Yanchuan raised an eyebrow and stood up. "Alright, I'd also like to see Master Zhong's apprentice's skills."
Perhaps because she had never let Lu Yanchuan see her making pottery before, Shen Li felt a little uncomfortable.
On the way to the studio, she already regretted it a little.
“Actually, it doesn’t mean anything. How about…” Along the way, Shen Li wanted to turn around and discuss it with Lu Yanchuan.
But before she could turn around, a pair of hands gripped her shoulders firmly, preventing her from turning.
"Don't say you can't have it, how can you go back on your word? I want to see it."
