Chapter 25 Husband Feelings
Lu Tingzhou pursed his lips tightly and said nothing. The sweet scent of gardenia mixed with the faint smell of alcohol on Sang Wan's body seemed to have not dissipated yet.
Seeing Lu Tingzhou's forbearance, Song Ze said sternly, "Honestly, you did enough back then. It wasn't your fault."
Looking at Lu Tingzhou's tense profile, he paused and spoke again: "If you really can't let her go, why not keep her by your side openly and pamper her. Don't torture yourself with these twists and turns. Even if she does remember something in the future, she will slowly accept it when she sees your sincerity."
Lu Tingzhou held the wine glass, his knuckles turning slightly white from the force.
Song Ze's words were like a heavy hammer, hitting his heart hard and knocking out the deepest constraints in his heart.
Protect her openly and pamper her...
These words echoed in his mind again and again.
"Hey, Xiaoxuan is really considerate. He carried her all the way into the car."
Chen Yubai didn't mind the trouble and thrust his phone in front of Lu Tingzhou.
His woman was held in the arms of his nephew. He clenched his fists and left without saying a word.
Chen Yubai laughed nonchalantly and said, "This guy is so stubborn that he can't even talk like a dead duck. His mouth could be passed down from generation to generation."
Song Ze shook his head, "Be careful he might punish you someday. Tingzhou is a man of measure, so don't worry about it."
"Take care of me, who am I doing this for? He hasn't even had a woman in all these years. Is he going to spend his whole life with the Five Fingers girl?"
Song Ze: ...
Lu Tingzhou lit a cigarette after getting in the car.
Seeing that he had been silent, Lin Hao glanced at him through the rearview mirror and asked in a low voice, "Mr. Lu, where are you going?"
Lu Tingzhou slowly exhaled smoke out of the window and said in a deep voice, "Go back to Jingyuan."
As the night deepened, the Maybach stopped steadily downstairs of Sang Wan's house.
Lu Tingzhou leaned against the car and smoked a cigarette. The color of his eyes behind the lenses was like the night at that moment, deep and revealing an indescribable complexity.
Seeing Lu Jinxuan's car stop, he put out the cigarette in his hand.
Lu Jinxuan opened the car door carefully and was about to pick Sang Wan up from the passenger seat.
As soon as he bent down, a pair of strong hands pulled him away from behind.
Lu Jinxuan stumbled, turned around and saw the culprit, and immediately called out respectfully, "Uncle."
"Stay away from her and be more careful next time."
The man's deliberately lowered voice was even deeper than usual, like ice chips, hitting Lu Jinxuan's ears and making him shiver suddenly.
"She's not someone you can touch."
Before he finished speaking, Lu Tingzhou stepped forward.
He leaned over, his movements seemingly forceful but with an imperceptible gentleness, and directly picked up Sang Wan and carried her sideways.
Sang Wan was stunned for a moment by this sudden change.
Why is he here?
The crisp cedar scent mixed with the faint smell of tobacco on the man's body wrapped her up forcefully, and his steady pace made her heart, which had just suddenly risen, return to its place in an instant.
After she realized what was happening, she quietly raised her eyes and looked at the man's cold and hard jaw.
A sly smile spread across her eyes, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curve up into a beautiful arc.
Well, the fish is hooked.
Lu Jinxuan stood there, looking at his uncle, then at Sang Wan in his arms, who didn't seem to feel any discomfort but rather a little... comfortable. His mind completely froze.
What is going on?
Hasn’t my uncle always been cold to Sang Wan?
"Uncle..." He stammered, wanting to ask something.
However, Lu Tingzhou acted as if he didn't hear anything. He held Sang Wan in his arms and walked straight to the elevator.
Being held firmly in the man's arms, Sang Wan tilted her head slightly, her hair brushing against his solid chest, causing a slight itch.
She stretched out her slender fingers and gently hooked the man's collar.
Her voice was soft and sticky, "Mr. Lu, how did you know I live here?"
Lu Tingzhou looked straight ahead, pursed his thin lips, and ignored her.
He just held her arm, subconsciously tightening it a little bit, and his steps remained steady, carefully avoiding any bumps that might make her uncomfortable.
Sang Wan was not annoyed, but instead found Lu Tingzhou particularly interesting.
She rubbed her little head against his arms, finding a more comfortable position, and the smile in her eyes deepened.
The elevator arrived with a ding.
Lu Tingzhou carried her into the elevator and pressed the number for her floor.
Although he didn't say a word during the whole process, the aura around him was no longer so cold, but instead revealed a bit of... stiffness and discomfort.
Sang Wan saw through it but didn't say anything, and nestled obediently in his arms.
Only after they entered the house did Lu Tingzhou carefully place her on the soft sofa in the living room.
He knelt on one knee, his deep gaze falling on her slightly swollen ankle.
A large hand with distinct joints gently grasped her ankle, wanting to check the injury.
The thin calluses on his fingertips touched her delicate skin, causing a tingling sensation.
Sang Wan's breath was caught in his throat.
Just as Lu Tingzhou was about to stand up, Sang Wan suddenly stretched out her arms and wrapped her soft arms around his neck.
She tilted her head slightly, her pair of watery peach blossom eyes close to him, staring straight into his bottomless black eyes.
"Lu Tingzhou." She called him by his full name, but her tone was solemn, which was not in her usual tone.
"Tell me, why do you care about me so much all of a sudden?"
The girl's breath was as fragrant as orchid, and her warm breath sprayed all over his neck, carrying her unique gardenia scent.
Lu Tingzhou's body stiffened and his Adam's apple rolled uncontrollably.
He lowered his eyes, avoiding her overly direct and probing gaze. His voice remained calm, but lacked a bit of confidence: "I just don't want Lu Jinxuan to get involved in the fight between you sisters."
"Oh?" Sang Wan's tone rose slightly.
She tightened her arms around his neck, and her whole body almost pressed against him.
"Is it just because of Jinxuan?"
"Mr. Lu, look into my eyes and say it again."
Her soft body pressed against him, and her delicate curves clearly conveyed her warmth through the thin fabric.
Lu Tingzhou felt a heat rising from the bottom of his heart. He took a deep breath and suppressed the throbbing in his heart.
"You're a public figure, you have to protect your reputation. You stirred up speculation at Wang Sheng's birthday party, and now you're getting so close to my nephew. What do you want the headlines to be like tomorrow?"
Sang Wan stared at him without blinking, trying to tell from his cold eyes whether he was saying one thing and thinking another.
She didn't know if it was because her ability to discern was flawed or the man in front of her was too good at disguising himself, but she didn't notice anything unusual.
"Are you really helping me for your own investment?"
If he didn't react tonight, Sang Wan wouldn't be sure.
But now this man appeared in her house. He knew exactly where she lived and which floor she lived on. He helped her solve so many problems silently. Was it really just for money?
Does he look like someone who would bow down for money?
Lu Tingzhou suddenly pulled her arm away, stood up, and looked down at her. His tone had regained some of his usual coldness: "For the sake of investment, of course I feel you're miserable. I pity you. I also do charity work on a regular basis."
Sang Wan suddenly didn't know what to say. This person was too difficult to understand.
So she turned her head away with a wronged look and didn't look at him.
"You haven't eaten anything since you entered the club, right?"
Without waiting for Sang Wan to answer, he took off his suit jacket and casually draped it over the armrest of the sofa, then unbuttoned his shirt cuffs and rolled up his sleeves to his forearms.
The exposed arm lines are smooth and powerful.
He turned and walked towards the kitchen.
Sang Wan blinked, looked at his tall figure, and the corners of her mouth rose unconsciously.
The little guy in my heart was so happy: Humph, you are a man who says one thing and means another. Let’s see how long you can keep being stubborn.
Lu Tingzhou opened the refrigerator.
It was completely empty, with only two tomatoes and a plate of eggs lying alone in the corner.
He frowned slightly, as if he was somewhat dissatisfied with the "barrenness" of the refrigerator.
But soon, he took out the ingredients resignedly.
Before long, the sounds of chopping vegetables and boiling water could be heard from the kitchen.
Sang Wan hopped on one leg and limped to the kitchen door. She leaned against the door frame and looked leisurely at the cold and noble man inside.
He was wearing her pink Winnie the Pooh apron - the picture was slightly funny, yet strangely harmonious.
The man skillfully beat eggs and cut tomatoes, his movements carrying a down-to-earth air that was incompatible with his position as CEO.
Sang Wan thought of a word on the Internet - the feeling of being a husband.
At this moment, Lu Tingzhou was a husband who was pulled down from the altar and had to wash his hands to make a living.
The light cast faint shadows on his deep eye sockets, softening his usually cold and hard features.
Sang Wan's heart felt like it was being gently kneaded by a warm big hand, and it became completely soft.
"I didn't expect Mr. Lu could cook. Do you cook yourself normally?" She spoke in a deliberately teasing tone.
Lu Tingzhou didn't turn around, but just said "hmm" lightly.
"Who did you learn this for?" Sang Wan continued teasing her relentlessly, her voice almost sickeningly sweet. "Is it for your ex-girlfriend?"
The man paused slightly while cutting vegetables, then returned to normal.
"You talk too much." His voice was low, but there was no displeasure in his tone.
Sang Wan chuckled and stopped teasing him, just watching him busy quietly.
Soon, a bowl of steaming tomato and egg noodles was brought to the table in front of her.
Golden scrambled eggs, bright red tomatoes, and emerald green onions—simple yet tempting.
"Eat quickly." Lu Tingzhou handed her the chopsticks with a tone that did not allow for argument.
Sang Wan took the chopsticks, said "Oh" obediently, lowered her head and started eating in small bites.
Lu Tingzhou sat opposite her, his long legs crossed, looking at her seriously, as if he was supervising a disobedient child.
Sang Wan took a few bites and felt warm in her stomach, which was very comfortable.
She raised her head and met the man's focused gaze.
The deep and complex look in his eyes, and the inexplicable sense of familiarity, made her heart move.
Sang Wan put down her chopsticks and blinked her innocent eyes, "Mr. Lu, have we really never met before?"
Lu Tingzhou didn't expect her to ask this suddenly. He raised his eyebrows slightly and said calmly, "Do girls nowadays tease men like this?"
Sang Wan realized that she was overthinking it. If she had really seen him, how could she not remember him?
"How many times have we met before? Miss Sang, do you need me to count them?"
Sang Wan knew that he was talking about her approaching him on purpose.
"It's delicious." Sang Wan smiled, her eyes curved. "It's better than anything made by five-star chefs out there."
"Is it because Mr. Lu...you added some special seasoning in it?"
She leaned forward slightly, staring at him with her watery eyes, her voice very low and bewitching.
"Like... a little bit?"
