Chapter 111 Interest

"N-nothing...it's nothing." Fang Zhi almost bit her tongue. "I just suddenly felt hungry."

"It's good that you're alright." Qi Shen's narrow eyes narrowed slightly, and he chuckled softly. "I thought Zhizhi wanted a gas card too."

Fang Zhi silently shifted his body slightly.

What use would she have for that card?

Are you going to sell it for money?

If she could, she wouldn't like to use harsh words to smear her brother's image, even though he was excessive in some ways, but his kindness was still there. However, this time she really couldn't help but label him as "shameless".

After getting away from Qi Shen, Fang Zhicai finally spoke: "No."

The atmosphere was slightly eerie.

Qi Chen looked suspiciously at Qi Shen, who seemed completely nonchalant, and then at Fang Zhi, who was sitting upright. "Brother, sister-in-law," he said, taking a step forward and stuffing the card into his pocket. He added casually, "If there's nothing else, I'll head out now. I won't be home for dinner tonight."

Although he didn't get any pocket money, he did manage to get some money for gas, which was a small gain. As for the 500 yuan from the dance studio, let's not talk about that; I don't know why his brother didn't give his sister-in-law the money. But since his brother saw it, his sister-in-law probably couldn't take it.

He'll pick it up later; who says it won't be a huge profit?

Qi Chen's mind was racing with calculations.

Qi Shen didn't care much about his younger brother's thoughts; he simply gave a faint "hmm."

Seeing the young man about to turn and leave, Fang Zhi hurriedly looked up at him, her clear, beautiful eyes filled with:

Wait, take me with you.

Qi Chen received her pleading look, paused, and hesitated.

Just compare the treatment of sitting and standing:

If he causes any more trouble, his brother might deal with him; but Fang Zhi doesn't need to, he can still sit there peacefully, and after that, probably... maybe... nothing will happen.

My mind is engaged in a fierce internal struggle.

Before he could decide whether to speak up for Fang Zhi, the man who had been observing their exchange of glances subtly pursed his lips and said, "Xiao Chen."

"Hmm? Brother, is there something else?"

Qi Shen's expression was calm and gentle, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly. He was determined to destroy her spirit completely. "Since you gave the money that was left in the dance studio to your sister-in-law, remember to bring it back after you leave."

Qi Chen: ? ? ?

So his brother's casual remark ruined all his hard work; he'd even figured out what he was going to do with the 500.

The young man tentatively asked, "For your sister-in-law?"

"You just need to bring it over, and you don't need to worry about the rest."

Qi Chen felt a toothache when he heard this; he couldn't stand hearing his brother say "don't worry about it" at all.

He bought the car because he believed his brother's words, and as a result, he was completely fooled. The landlord's youngest son cut off his own money and supplies.

He doesn't want the five hundred, it's just a mere five hundred—but when people are at their wits' end, they still feel the pain.

Qi Chen glanced at Fang Zhi, then, despite the pain in his eyes, emphasized, "Brother, you must give this to your sister-in-law."

The man raised his eyebrows slightly, a dark light flashed in his eyes, and he parted his thin lips, uttering two words, "Okay."

After speaking, he slightly raised his eyelids, his gaze fixed on the young man who resembled him. "Also, you are an adult man, so you should be mindful of social distance between men and women. Don't go to the dance studio next time when your sister-in-law is practicing dancing, understand?" His light and gentle voice carried a hint of warning.

As soon as Qi Shen finished speaking, Qi Chen blinked.

He was cut off from money because he said he was old, so he was just punished by being made to stand because his brother was jealous?

Seriously? You can eat this vinegar?

Fang Zhi's eyelids twitched; he also found it outrageous.

Although I sensed my brother was jealous when we were in the dance studio, now that I hear him say it, it's true.

If it weren't for the man's imposing presence, Qi Chen would have loved to kneel down in front of him and see if someone else was impersonating his brother.

Qi Chen was about to make a joke, but he was rooted to the spot by the danger and oppressive feeling contained in the man's boundless eyes. He swallowed and said, "I understand."

He regretted living in Nangong and facing his brother; actually, living alone in the Qi family wasn't so bad.

With nannies on both sides, he doesn't have to lift a finger, and he doesn't have to face his brother's death stare...

Is it too late for him to say he wants to move back now?

-

He handed over five red banknotes with both hands, and then ran away without looking back, as if being chased by a wild beast.

The man took a tissue and, with elegant and unhurried movements, wiped his flawless, artistic fingers.

Fang Zhi felt a flush of heat and embarrassment on her face. She silently lowered her eyes and pressed her legs together to seal the hem of her skirt tightly.

Qi Shen crumpled the tissue into a ball and threw it into the trash can beside him. He leaned back, his gaze fixed on the girl, and with a slight bend in his knuckles, tapped the banknotes on the table.

"Does Zhizhi want it?"

Fang Zhi paused for three seconds, "Didn't brother promise Qi Chen?" She didn't say whether she wanted it or not, but her meaning was clear.

"Hmm." Qi Shen smiled and nodded in agreement. "I did agree to Xiao Chen's request."

After speaking, he scooped up the money and handed it over.

Fang Zhi reached out to take it, but before he could even touch the edge of the money, the man withdrew his hand halfway.

What does this mean? Have they changed their minds again?

Fang Zhi's long eyelashes trembled, and she looked up in confusion, just in time to meet the man's handsome, smiling eyes.

The afterglow of the setting sun shone on his handsome face, his impeccably pressed suit, his white shirt buttoned to the top, his sexy Adam's apple, his sharply defined neck, and his gentle elegance exuding a sense of ascetic sanctity.

She bit her lower lip and asked in confusion:
