Chapter 132 Like a bird escaping its cage

On the first day of being stuck at home, the students at the school were in an uproar because of a post on the forum.

[Title: Exposing the true face of the "goddess" who made a grand finale appearance at the cultural performance.]

The post used extremely malicious language to reveal Fang Zhi's background, portraying her as a poor girl from a mountain village who was turned into a kept woman.

It further implies that this cultural performance was an opportunity Fang Zhi received through underhanded manipulation by her backer.

People love to create gods, and they also love to destroy them.

It's like a perverse pleasure; they personally elevated Fang Zhi to a pedestal, treating her like a goddess, and then happily dragged her back down into the abyss, making her mired in the mud.

Forums that allow anonymity allow people hiding behind screens to unleash their malice.

[A: I understand girls now. The first time I saw her, I thought she was a scheming, manipulative woman pretending to be weak.]

[b: Tsk tsk, thank goodness I haven't started pursuing her yet, or I'd be incredibly embarrassed.]

[c: Didn't you guys notice that all the videos of that woman dancing are gone? She's definitely guilty!]

You can know a person's face but not their heart. Someone who blushes when speaking might be the most vicious in their insults behind your back. Countless messages of contempt and abuse have been left for those who know about it.

Among them were one or two good comments that explained Fang Zhi's point of view, but they were either deleted by the original blogger or buried in layers of comments.

Guo Shuyao took some time to meet with Fang Zhen.

While happily reading the comments, Fang Zhen couldn't wait to ask, "How's the next step of the plan going?"

"Wait until the public outcry at the school grows a bit more."

"What about Fang Zhi?"

"I don't know." Guo Shuyao felt frustrated. She had wanted to see Fang Zhi looking dejected and unable to lift his head after being scolded, but he was picked up yesterday and didn't come to class today.

"What's the meaning?"

"Just wait." Guo Shuyao glanced at her sideways, her tone commanding. "Have them post a few more messages, the bigger the better. Say that Fang Zhi got a lot of benefits at school because of his sugar daddy, such as the fact that Fang Zhi was chosen for this arts festival because the teacher took money."

Fang Zhen lowered her eyes and subconsciously touched her stomach. "Of course." Once Fang Zhi's matter is settled, she should confront Chen Hengtai and demand money to abort the child.

The posts, embellished with exaggerated claims, were published. Students who saw the true and false information realized that the school was using this information for personal gain, and those who felt their interests were being threatened also joined in.

The matter escalated, and by evening it reached the school's senior leadership. They couldn't afford to offend Qi Shen.

Helpless, the principal ordered an investigation into who posted the message, and in order to silence public opinion, he had no choice but to release a notice announcing the suspension of the dance teacher pending investigation.

Meanwhile, in the male dormitory of University A.

Qu Guwen and Lao K went out and haven't returned yet.

The desk lamp was lit in front of Xiao Pang's desk, and his hands were clattering on the keyboard. He was typing and cursing, fighting on the front line to fight against the black hat for his goddess.

"What a bunch of bastards! Are all the students at Ocean University of China filled with shit? A bunch of bandwagoners!"

He discovered that all the videos about the goddess on public platforms had been taken down, so he decided to check out their school forum.

What I found was a bunch of idiots!

He was so engrossed in his rant that his voice was so loud that it woke up the person who was sleeping. Jiang Yu rubbed his head and sat up in bed. "Fatty, keep your voice down."

Startled, Little Fatty turned around and quickly apologized, "Sorry, bro, I got too excited." His eyes darted around. "Brother Jiang, do you remember that girl from yesterday?"

Jiang Yu, who had just woken up, was startled. Before he could process what had happened, he blurted out with concern, "What happened to her?"

Little Fatty gritted his teeth, slammed his fist on the table, and roared:

"Everyone says she's being kept by someone, has powerful connections, and stole someone else's spot to participate in this arts festival."

Fang realized? He was being kept?

Jiang Yu thought he was hallucinating, but seeing Xiao Pang's indignant expression, he realized it wasn't fake. Veins on his forehead throbbed, and his temper, which he had been suppressing for the past few years, suddenly surged up.

"Impossible! That's utter bullshit!"

No one else is as gentle and shy as Fang Zhi, a girl so beautiful that no one dares to touch her.

The chubby boy was startled by the young man's sudden violence. "Brother Jiang... are you alright?"

"It's nothing." Jiang Yu's voice was deep and cold as he rolled over and jumped off the bed, taking the spot from Little Fatty.

[Anonymous A: Holy crap, breaking news! That dance teacher has been suspended! It's confirmed!]

[Anonymous: Disgusting! I never knew someone with such an innocent face could do such shameless things!]

A quick glance at the screen revealed nothing but insults.

Even as a man, Jiang Yu couldn't stand it, so he couldn't imagine how upset Fang Zhi would be to see those words.

Where is Qi Shen?

Upon seeing Fang Zhi's message again, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep. When he couldn't resist refreshing the platform again in the early hours of yesterday morning to see her, all of Fang Zhi's dancing videos had disappeared.

He knew that given the man's possessiveness towards Fang Zhi, the disappearance and inability to release the video was definitely his doing. So, was he just going to let Fang Zhi be insulted on the forum like that?

A string of numbers that had never been forgotten appeared before Jiang Yuze's eyes, and his hands trembled slightly.

He didn't know if Fang Zhi had seen the post on the forum, nor did he know if she had changed her phone number.

But those words were devastating to the girl, and he couldn't bear to think about her facing them alone.

Three seconds felt like three long years, and Jiang Yu finally made his decision.

-

In the dark bedroom, Fang Zhi sat curled up on the edge of the bed, like a lifeless doll.

She was in a daze all day, from dawn till dusk, spending her time either going downstairs for meals or just spacing out in her bedroom. The sudden ringing of the alarm clock startled her awake.
