Chapter 144 Talk and Return

Back in his office, the moment the door closed, Qi Shen simultaneously opened his message.

[Zhizhi: Brother, can we talk now? If not, I'll wait a few more days.]

His eyes were half-closed, his curled eyelashes concealing the emotions in them. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the entire office, and his tall figure was cast against the wall behind him by the light.

Qi Shen's sexy Adam's apple bobbed slightly, letting out a sneer that revealed no emotion whatsoever.

The little girl has learned to threaten him.

But he still fell for these threats. He knew that if things continued like this, Zhizhi would be the first to give in. But he didn't want her to stay by Lin Yisheng's side for even a second longer. Who knew what kind of ideas this woman would instill in Zhizhi?

He raised his hand and replied: "How would you like to discuss this?"

It was as if the other end had typed the message in advance, just waiting for his reply. Qi Shen had barely sent the message when Zhi replied in less than a second.

I want the right to make friends, so please don't cause trouble for them; I want to travel normally, not be confined to my home by you; if I have the opportunity to perform again in the future, I hope you won't stop me, and certainly won't keep me locked up at home.

After reading her message, Qi Shen returned to his desk, sat down, and put his phone aside. He leisurely lit a cigarette, waiting for her next message.

Fang Zhi waited for ten minutes without receiving a reply from the man, and then couldn't help but send another message.

[Brother, have you thought it through?]

The moment his phone rang, Qi Shen's lips curved into a smile, just as he had expected. His little girl might have learned something from Lin Yisheng, but she was still too naive and her methods weren't up to par.

It's clear that Lin Yisheng isn't with the little girl right now.

Since Zhizhi is alone, if she loses her composure, the initiative in the negotiation will not fall into her hands.

A faint smile played in Qi Shen's dark eyes as he picked up his phone and slowly replied to her:

[Zhizhi, your brother is busy with work. I just read what you said carefully. People need an adjustment period and a transition period. I understand what you said. As for how to implement it, I think it's more appropriate to discuss it in person.]

Fang Zhi received the text message and rubbed his eyes after reading it.

Does this mean he's agreed? They've already discussed how to proceed, so he must have agreed!

Just as Fang Zhi was about to agree, Lin Yisheng came out of the bedroom and asked, "Have you finished talking?"

Fang Zhi paused in her typing, looked up at Lin Yisheng who was walking towards her, and said, "I didn't understand what Brother Qi Shen meant, but I think he probably agreed."

Lin Yisheng stood in front of the girl, feeling uneasy seeing her seemingly understanding expression.

How should I put it?

Fang Zhi looked like a simple, honest, and naive girl from a landlord's family, while Qi Shen was the landlord himself, cunning and scheming, with his intricate thoughts flowing out like a river.

Lin Yisheng hesitated for a moment, then tapped her phone from a distance, "You don't mind if I take a look, do you?"

"Of course I don't mind." Fang Zhi handed over the phone without hesitation. "Sister Lin, you can take a look."

After spending a few minutes reading through their conversation, Lin Yisheng first rubbed her forehead. Sure enough, Qi Shen's words were full of ambiguity and attempts to cover up his true intentions. Then she poked Fang Zhi's cheek, exasperated, "Is this what you call agreeing to you? He's clearly just going around in circles with you."

"Listen to me, do this..."

Only then did he realize that he had been tricked again by silently aggrieving himself.

She pouted and did as the woman said. With Lin Yisheng's help, she finally managed to reach a complete agreement with Qi Shen.

They realized they had won a tiny bit of freedom, which, though small, was still a victory, because they couldn't afford to delay any longer, as Sister Lin's husband was about to return to China.

-

The next morning, Qi Shen was waiting downstairs.

The man wasn't wearing a suit today, but rather a navy blue trench coat, which made him look very casual.

Lin Yisheng led Fang Zhi downstairs. The two, who couldn't stand each other, first engaged in a war of words without any real conflict before having Qi Shen take Fang Zhi away.

In the spacious back of the car, just as he was about to fasten his seatbelt, the man pulled him into his arms.

Once Fang Zhi recovered, his long, slender hand grabbed her chin and lifted her up, and the two looked at each other.

Qi Shen's eyes were deep and unfathomable, and his thin lips curved into a faint, almost imperceptible smile. "Have you had a very pleasant few days?"

When she was face to face with him, he was not as tough as he had been on the phone. She said softly, "I'm...I'm alright."

Qi Shen let out a light, amused laugh.

“New phone number, block my brother, negotiate with him…” He recounted all the things she had done recently.

Finally, the man removed his glasses, his handsome and deep-set face lowered, his dark eyes drawing close to Fang Zhi's brows and eyes. His voice was low, gentle yet dangerous, "Zhi Zhi, what do you think your brother should do to punish you when we get back?"

"Brother..." Fang Zhi's eyes widened, thinking the man was going to go back on his word. She tried to back away, but he had one hand holding her face and the other around her waist, his controlling posture leaving her nowhere to retreat. "I...didn't we agree on something?"

Qi Shen chuckled softly, his calloused hand caressing Fang Zhi's soft lips. "The brother we agreed on wouldn't lie to you, but our agreement didn't say I wouldn't hold Zhi Zhi accountable for what happened these past few days. The brother did say a few days ago that if Zhi Zhi obediently came back, we could let bygones be bygones."

He paused, lowered his head, and gently bit Fang Zhi's lips, his indistinct words seeming to contain regret.

"But it's a pity that Zhizhi missed out."

Qi Shen kissed her fiercely, disregarding the occasion, completely ignoring the driver. He hadn't seen her for only a few days, and he already missed her to an unbearable degree.

"Mmm..." Fang Zhi's hands were weakly supporting her between the two men as the man forcefully swept through every corner of her mouth.

Her tongue was tightly entwined with his, and she could almost taste the blood in her mouth. After what seemed like an eternity, he released her, his voice hoarse, and asked, "Did you miss your brother?"

Only then did he realize that his brain was lacking oxygen and he couldn't hear what the man was saying at all. The man, who had not received a reply, came back again.

Do you miss your brother?

"Yes, I've thought about it."

On the way back, Qi Shen asked her repeatedly. If she was even a second slow in answering, the man's lips would press down on hers, kissing her until she was breathless before continuing.

Back in Nangong, Fang Zhi's lips were so red they were almost unrecognizable. Qi Shen didn't give her any room to struggle; like a wild beast dragging its trophy back to its den, he took Fang Zhi straight to the bedroom.

A luxurious and quiet bedroom.

Qi Shen sat on the bed, while Fang Zhi had his back to him.

The girl's soft waist and legs rested on his lap, her head and feet drooping to either side.

This position gave Fang Zhi a bad feeling. She twisted and struggled, but the man casually raised his eyelids and said in a light voice, "Don't move."

The moment her full buttocks touched the cool air, she realized what he was about to do, but it was too late.

A slap landed on her buttocks.
