Students come and go in the restaurant, and the atmosphere becomes more and more tense as the college entrance examination approaches. Some students are making the most of every minute to eat.
"Why do I feel like you've been distracted lately?"
Liu Siyi rested her elbows on the dining table, cupped her face, and sipped her yogurt while talking to Fang Zhi.
"Siyi..." Fang Zhi put down her chopsticks, her delicate brows furrowed with slight hesitation. "I..."
Four days have passed, but she still can't forget about her brother kissing her; she gets distracted whenever she thinks about it.
Moreover, when she confessed to her brother, he was so calm and composed that it made her heart pound.
"Tell me, what's wrong with you?"
Faced with her friend's concern, Fang Zhi bit her lip and slowly said, "It's fine. A man who seems like an elder got drunk and kissed a woman. After sobering up, he apologized to the woman, but he didn't seem to think it was a serious matter."
"What do you think he's thinking?"
"Huh?" Liu Siyi sorted through Fang Zhi's words. "How could you tell he was drunk? What if he was faking it?"
Fang Zhi's clean and pretty face was filled with doubt, "Can you fake being drunk?"
“Zhizhi, I can tell you’ve never drunk alcohol.” Liu Siyi put down her hand, cleared her throat, and pretended to be deep in thought. “Have you ever heard the saying, ‘A man who’s three-tenths drunk can act until you cry’?”
"Siyi, have you tried it?"
"No," Liu Siyi denied immediately, "but I have seen my brother pretend to be drunk to coax his new girlfriend."
"He can drink a pound and a half of baijiu and drink beer at will. After finishing a bottle of beer, he started calling his new girlfriend, acting cute and crazy, asking for kisses, hugs, and to see her."
Thinking back to that scene, Liu Siyi shook her head, almost vomiting, and got goosebumps all over her arm.
Fang Zhi was conflicted after hearing her friend's description. Was her brother faking being drunk? What was his purpose?
She suddenly felt as if she were caught in a mystery, with the truth so close that it was within her grasp.
But she dared not investigate further.
"By the way," Liu Siyi stood up from the stool, bent down and leaned closer to Fang Zhi, staring intently at her, "Zhizhi, why are you suddenly asking this question? Did someone kiss you while they were drunk?"
"No...no." Fang Zhi was startled. "I just found this question in a book and it's confusing."
"Oh." Liu Siyi nodded thoughtfully.
Because Fang Zhi had always been seen as a pure and innocent girl, he didn't doubt her words.
She was just wondering why any book would write about this?
Zhizhi doesn't usually read extracurricular books, so could it be that she didn't read the textbook carefully and overlooked it?
Fearing her friend might ask something else, Fang Zhi quickly stood up and said, "Siyi, I'm done eating. Let's go."
"OK."
The girl linked arms with him and they left together.
The school's landscaping work is very well done.
The path was lined with flowers, trees, and shrubs, which not only provided shade but also added a touch of life to the otherwise monotonous campus life.
It is refreshing and invigorating.
The senior high school classes are located on the second and third floors of the teaching building, with ten classes on each floor.
Halfway there, Liu Siyi felt unwell and needed to go to the restroom. She told Fang Zhi not to wait for her and to go back to the classroom first.
Liu Siyi's attitude was firm, and only then did I realize that I had no choice but to leave.
After walking past the corner of the stairs, I realized that a large group of unfamiliar students were standing in front of their classroom.
She paused, not understanding what was going on.
A sharp-eyed person spotted the girl approaching and whispered to those nearby, "She's back."
A group of people looked up in the direction of Fang Zhi.
The girl stood tall and graceful, with skin as smooth as jade. The same school uniform looked different on her.
Like a lotus emerging from the water, her eyebrows were delicate and beautiful, and her deer-like eyes were round, clear, and full of watery charm.
The boy in the middle, with bright eyes and a reserved and shy expression, stepped forward first, blocking Fang Zhi's path.
Fang Zhi guessed his intention.
As classmates around me enter puberty, teenagers are at the age when their hearts begin to flutter with romantic feelings.
Although Fang Zhi is low-key and quiet, her outstanding appearance means that love letters often appear in her drawer.
This was the first time she had ever met someone who came directly to her.
The boy before her had delicate and youthful features and wore glasses, which made Fang Zhi think of his older brother.
My brother started wearing glasses in the second half of his senior year of high school. Without glasses, he was a handsome young man, but with glasses, he became refined and elegant.
He surpasses the boy in front of him by several times in both appearance and temperament.
Her curled eyelashes fluttered gently as she spoke politely, "Excuse me, could you please move aside?"
The boy's companions started to cheer him on.
"Go Hui Zi!"
"Charge!"
The boy finally mustered the courage to look directly into the girl's face.
"Hello Fang Zhi, I'm Liu Jiahui from Class 9. I've liked you for a long time."
Fang Zhi sighed softly, her voice gentle, "I'm sorry, classmate, what you're doing is very troubling to me."
"No." The boy shook his head. "I don't mean to start dating early. I just want to confess to you sooner rather than later."
"Would you accept me after the college entrance exam? Fang Zhi, which university do you plan to apply to?"
Fang Zhi politely declined again, saying, "I have no plans to date before graduating from university."
She took a step to the side, about to pass him.
“Fang Zhi…” The boy reached out to stop her, “Wait a minute, you don’t have to refuse. Can you leave me your contact information and give me a chance?”
Fang Zhi frowned, about to speak, when a deep, cold voice sounded from behind her.
"Hey, what are you all doing blocking this place? Didn't you hear the girl didn't want to?"
Fang Zhi didn't know who was standing behind her, but she noticed that the boys around her all changed their expressions when they saw the newcomer.
