The bright moon hung high in the sky, and a gentle evening breeze rustled the green grass and plants on campus, accompanied by the soft chirping of insects. After evening self-study, students hurried from the teaching building to their dormitories.
Fang Zhi and Liu Siyi walked down the stairs side by side. "What's going on between you and Jiang Yuze? Why do you call him your benefactor?"
"It happened during the holidays," Liu Siyi scratched her head. "When I went to the mall on Sunday to buy things for my birthday party, I ran into an uncle who fell on the ground."
“I kindly helped him up, but when he saw that I was alone and a girl, he started to stage an accident, insisting that I had knocked him down and demanding compensation.”
Upon hearing this, a small flame flickered in Fang Zhi's heart, "There are still people like this? You were the one who helped him."
Liu Siyi explained, "Your brother always accompanies you when you go out, so he doesn't know how dangerous the world can be."
Upon hearing her mention Qi Shen, Fang Zhi's face flashed with a hint of awkwardness, and she quickly changed the subject, "And then?"
"Then there was Jiang Yuze, who happened to be at the arcade in the mall with his group of friends. When they saw me being dragged by an older man with his entourage, they came over and confronted the older man."
"Later, the uncle realized something was wrong and ran away."
Fang Zhi breathed a sigh of relief for Liu Siyi, "That's good, you should thank Jiang."
"Thanks, I was just thinking about whether to give him something as a token of my appreciation." Liu Siyi sighed softly, "Anyway, I'll never help people indiscriminately again. Girls like us should be careful when we're out alone."
"So that some people won't take advantage of your kindness."
Like this time, even though she was stronger than the average girl, it was still difficult for her to break free from a middle-aged man.
“Especially you, Zhizhi,” Liu Siyi reminded Fang Zhi, “You look so gentle and soft that you seem easy to bully and fool. You need to be extra careful.”
"Mm." Fang Zhi nodded slightly, taking Liu Siyi's words to heart. "Don't worry, I understand."
The two girls chatted as they walked, and then stopped by the school's supermarket. Liu Siyi bought some drinks to give to Jiang Yuzhe and his friends as a thank-you gift the next day.
The dormitories at Shangde are four-person rooms with bunk beds and desks underneath, and are equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning, washing machines, etc.
They then learned that when the two girls returned to their dormitory, the other two classmates had already finished washing up and were chatting at their respective desks.
Upon seeing the two girls enter, one of the girls with almond-shaped eyes rolled her eyes and then asked, "Zhizhi, what's going on between you and Jiang Yuzhe from Class 7? Have you two talked?"
Fang Zhi paused, turned to look at the girl who had spoken, and said softly, "Nothing like that."
“Oh~” another girl chimed in, drawing out her words, “So that means Jiang Yuzhe was pursuing you one-sidedly, but he didn’t win you over.”
"You should agree quickly. Jiang Yuze's father is a bank president, his mother is a company executive, his family is rich, and he himself is the school bully at our school, and he's handsome too."
"Yes, if I were you, I would have agreed long ago."
When would you like to introduce us to someone?
"Yeah, we've been roommates for a while, after all."
The two roommates were talking in unison.
Liu Siyi glanced sideways at Fang Zhi's expression.
The girl, with a pure and quiet appearance, walked to her desk, put down her schoolbag, shook her head at them, and said, "I'm not very familiar with Jiang, and I don't plan to date early."
The girl with phoenix eyes sighed, her tone meaningful, "Even though you're not familiar with each other, you still come to the classroom to find you. It's a real pity you're not dating early, after all, the Jiang family is quite well-off."
Fang Zhi frowned slightly.
Her roommate's words made her uncomfortable; they implied she was a gold digger. However, she never liked arguing, and after explaining herself, she remained silent.
Liu Siyi, who was standing nearby, couldn't stand it anymore and threw her drink on the table.
With a loud thud, the other two female roommates were startled and looked at Liu Siyi.
The girl with almond-shaped eyes complained, "Liu Siyi, what are you doing? Can't you be gentler? You scared me to death."
The latter sneered, "If you think Jiang Yuzhe is rich, then go after him! Zhizhi's family isn't short of money!"
"Tch." The phoenix-eyed man muttered under his breath, "Who knows?"
During the years they were classmates, no one except Liu Siyi knew about Fang Zhi's family situation.
Fang Zhi was the class beauty, and many people admired her. She was low-key and didn't often interact with her classmates, but that didn't stop them from being curious about her.
Liu Siyi's round face hardened as she stared at the girl with phoenix eyes and said, word by word, "Cao Moru, it's your business if the math class representative rejects you; it has nothing to do with Zhizhi. Please stop being so sarcastic!"
Touched on a sore spot, Cao Moru's expression hardened, and she stood up angrily, "You..."
"Me?" Liu Siyi interrupted her, making a face. "What did I do wrong? Did I say something wrong?"
Liu Siyi looked so infuriating that Fang Zhi barely managed to hold back his laughter.
Everyone in the class knew Cao Moru's little schemes: first, she loved to show off, and second, she liked the math class representative.
Fang Zhi is particularly known for these two matters.
Logically, you shouldn't be able to tell the brand of the school uniform and trousers, but they were in the same dormitory.
Fang Zhi's personal belongings, including small stationery items, were all from rare brands, some of which were even unavailable to those with money.
Cao Moru was naturally unconvinced because she couldn't compete with him.
Most importantly, when she confessed to the person she liked, he told her in return that he liked Fang Zhi, who is this type of girl.
The girl who had just been working with Cao Moru gave her a wink, signaling her to stop.
After receiving the message, Cao Moru gritted her teeth. Only now did she realize that with Jiang Yuze as her backer, she really couldn't afford to offend him.
She stared at Liu Siyi coldly and said, "What's so great about you? You're just a bootlicker."
