Chapter 77 Life is like a game of chess, with each move bringing new developments.

After hearing Qi Shen's reasons, the old man closed his eyes.

Is it absurd? What an absurd reason.

After a long silence, Old Master Qi opened his eyes and stared at him, slowly saying each word: "I have had everything I wanted in my life, and I have no regrets about living such a glorious life. My only regret is letting you live with your father and mother in Haicheng."

He knew that his grandson was a man of deep thoughts, not one to reveal them on the surface. Although he was not as gentle on the inside as he appeared on the outside, he was steady and self-controlled. Such a character should have been a good thing for him, born into the Qi family, but now it had been ruined by his parents.

Qi Shen's eyes flickered.

If he had been raised by the old man from the beginning, his temperament would have been properly guided.

Unfortunately... there are no second chances in life. And you have to lose something to gain something, which is why he encountered Fangzhi.

"From disobeying your family's arrangements to this time taking action against someone in official business for that little girl," a sharp glint appeared in Old Master Qi's cloudy eyes, "what will you do for her next time?"

Qi Shen looked directly into the old man's eyes.

Although he is now completely free from the family's control, he cannot allow the old man to have any prejudice against Zhizhi.

“It has nothing to do with her; it’s my own selfishness.” Qi Shen paused. “It’s because I can’t give her the chance to leave. Grandpa, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing when it comes to the Jiang family.”

"From now on, Zhizhi will stay by my side, and this kind of thing will never happen again."

"Is that so?" Old Master Qi shifted his gaze, fiddling with the black pieces on the chessboard, his tone meaningful. "Life is like a game of chess, each move is new. No matter what you say or do, never go to extremes."

During the conversation between grandfather and grandson, Old Master Qi suddenly had an urgent official matter to attend to, so Qi Shen consciously came out of the study.

The man stood tall and straight under the eaves, the sunlight shining on his body, but not into his heart.

Life is like a game of chess, with each move bringing new challenges. This was the old man's way of warning him that life, like a game of chess, is unpredictable. He had acted rashly and recklessly against the Jiang family this time, leaving no room for maneuver.

Qi Shen's eyelashes fluttered, and he suddenly thought of Fang Zhi, as well as the strange feeling that lingered in his mind when they played chess.

The man took out his phone, his gaze falling on the girl's contact information page, his thin lips gradually pursing into a straight line.

After exiting the page a moment later, he pulled up the phone number of the driver he had arranged and called him.

The driver, who had just closed his eyes for a short nap, heard the phone ring. He glanced at the caller ID and immediately answered.

"Young Master Shen".

"At A University?" the man asked in a flat tone.

"Yes, yes, we're still at A University."

"Let Zhizhi answer the phone."

"This..." the driver stammered, unable to speak. What a mess this was! He only tried to slack off once, and he got caught red-handed.

Qi Shen's eyes turned colder. "Speak."

“I was in the car, and Miss Zhizhi wasn’t with me.” The driver gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. “She said she wanted to drive around by herself in the afternoon, so she didn’t let me come with her.”

"Understood." Qi Shen's expression turned indifferent, his handsome face expressionless. "Specific location."

The driver glanced at him and obediently gave him the location.

"How long has Zhizhi been gone?"

"About ten minutes."

After hanging up the phone, Qi Shen immediately searched the school environment and saw the back door not far from that building. His deep eyes, dark as ink, darted around.

The man strode away, and when he reached the second gate of the courtyard, he glanced at the guards at the gate and said, "Tell the old man when he's done with his work that I have to go."
