In the early morning, before the first rays of sunlight pierced through the clouds, birds had already flown to the artificial miniature hill in the yard and were chirping.
Fang Zhi got up early on purpose, and after washing up, he came out of the bathroom to tidy up his school uniform.
Shangde's summer school uniform consists of trousers.
With tuition fees in the six figures per semester, the school has gone to great lengths to cater to the discerning tastes of the wealthy young men, even in terms of food and clothing.
Although it's not a high-end custom-made item, it's comfortable.
The school uniform wasn't outdated in style, and it did a good job of concealing the scars on Fang Zhi's legs.
She checked herself in the full-length mirror several times to make sure there were no mistakes before taking out the schoolbag that Qi Shen had bought for her yesterday and heading out.
As she closed the bedroom door, she turned around and bumped into Qi Shen, who was coming out of the room.
Fang Zhi stared at the boy walking towards her and smiled sweetly, "Good morning, brother."
"Good morning, Zhizhi." Qi Shen looked the girl up and down.
In just two days, the girl had quietly changed. She was no longer the disheveled little beggar who had rolled out of a pile of dirt when they first met.
Fang Zhi now has a fair and clean face, thick hair tied in a ponytail revealing a full forehead, a gentle and pure temperament, and a sweet fragrance emanating from her whole being.
Qi Shen asked gently, "Does the school uniform still fit?"
"It fits perfectly."
After saying that, Fang Zhi nodded again, as if afraid that he wouldn't believe her.
Qi Shen stared at her for a few seconds, then the corners of his lips turned up, a slight, alluring curve, like a spring breeze.
"Yes, as long as it fits."
Only then did I realize that my ears were red and slightly burning.
She was too young to understand social etiquette, but she had a basic understanding of beauty and ugliness.
Especially someone as good-looking as my brother.
And when he smiled, she thought that the angels in fairy tales must look just like her brother.
Without her hair obscuring her face, Qi Shen noticed the girl's red ears and her eyebrows slightly raised.
He paused beside her, waiting for her. "Let's go downstairs for breakfast."
Breakfast consisted of sandwiches and milk.
Qi Shen usually eats quickly and meticulously, but today he slowed down because he had to wait for Fang Zhi.
Watching the girl slowly finish the sandwich and milk, Qi Shen called her to leave for school.
......
Shangde School, ranked first among elite private schools in Haicheng, boasts a beautiful campus environment.
It's currently the time when students are returning to school.
Qi Shen stood out among the elementary school students; his height made him appear like a crane among chickens. Fang Zhi, following beside him, attracted many admiring glances.
She carefully observed the scenery around her, and the students laughing and playing on the road.
So this is the school my sister was talking about. It's really lively. Just standing here, you can feel the joy among the students.
The girl was full of curiosity about the school and didn't watch where she was going. It was Qi Shen who reminded her, "Zhizhi, watch your step."
When her brother pointed it out, she realized there were steps in front of her. Her face flushed, and she murmured an "Oh."
Qi Shen looked down at her, "Do you like it here?"
Fang Zhi's long eyelashes fluttered slightly. "Mmm."
She loved it; her long-cherished dream had come true at this moment. She had a loving older brother and a school.
"Since you like it, Zhizhi, take a look." Qi Shen took her hand and smiled gently, his voice soft, "Brother will guide you and watch the way for you."
Taking her away was just a spur-of-the-moment decision.
However, the girl's hands were so soft that they were irresistible to touch.
Summer mornings are just as sultry, and hands clasped together inevitably feel sticky.
Qi Shen likes things to be clean and tidy, and dislikes the sweat stains and unpleasant smells that accumulate in crowds during the summer.
However, it felt quite nice to be in control of all his belongings.
He slightly curved his lips, and even though he was uncomfortable with the sticky feeling, he did not let go of Fang Zhi's hand.
The first graders are on the first floor of the teaching building on the left side of the school. The further you go in, the fewer students there are, and the offices are at the very edge.
The office door was open, and the voices of two teachers talking could be heard from inside.
A teacher who looked relatively young complained while grading papers, "Teacher Zhang, this is only first grade, and look at some of the students in our class, their grades are already appalling."
Teacher Zhang smiled and said, "Children are playful, so we teachers just need to be patient."
The young teacher thought about it and realized that the children in the class had parents who were officials or tycoons.
What else can we do?
Besides, teachers at elite schools have generous salaries and benefits, earning such high wages every month. Let's be a little more patient.
"Teacher Zhang, I heard a new student is coming to our class today? Hasn't he arrived yet?"
Teacher Zhang glanced at her watch. "They should be here soon." Little did she know that the person she was waiting for was already standing outside the door.
Fang Zhi knew that the "new student" the two teachers were referring to was her.
She was so nervous that she forgot her own hand was clasped in the boy's, and instinctively tightened her grip.
Qi Shen's eyebrows twitched slightly.
Because the rescued pets had been hurt, they were sensitive to the outside world and would become nervous at the slightest disturbance.
To appease her and to prevent the two teachers from saying anything else, Qi Shen raised his other arm and knocked on the office door.
The conversation in the office abruptly stopped.
"Please come in."
Qi Shen gently squeezed Fang Zhi's hand to signal her to relax, then naturally let go and stepped into the office.
Footsteps approached, and Teacher Zhang looked up.
The boy stood half a meter away from her. He was slender with porcelain-white skin and refined features. Standing there quietly, he resembled a landscape painting, with a unique and outstanding temperament.
Teacher Zhang recognized him and was incredulous and puzzled as to why the boy was there. "Qi, what are you doing here?"
