Chapter 95 The Glutton

The setting sun casts a golden glow on the earth, and a gentle evening breeze stirs the birdsong in the pond grove.

By this time, most of the people in the dance studio had left, leaving only the dance teacher and the staff who repaired the sound equipment.

As the two were squatting on the ground discussing equipment issues, a soft and pleasant "Teacher" came from behind them.

The dance teacher turned around, a fleeting look of surprise crossing her face. She saw the young woman, now dressed, walking gracefully and elegantly towards her. She stood up and asked, "Fang Zhi? Why haven't you left yet?"

Fang Zhi stopped half a meter away from the woman, his beautiful, full lips slightly parted, his voice softer than the clouds in the sky, "I came to see you about the arts performance."

"Have you decided to participate?" The dance teacher looked at the fair-skinned, well-behaved girl with delight. "Have your family agreed?"

Fang Zhi lowered her eyes and remained silent for two seconds. "I want to participate, but my family hasn't agreed yet."

"So what's the purpose of your meeting with me?" Seeing the girl's hesitation and difficulty, the dance teacher noticed a flicker in the repairman's eyes and said to Fang Zhidao, "Come out with me and we'll talk."

The two walked out of the classroom one after the other.

Orange light shone on the two people, casting their shadows on the wall behind them.

"Teacher," Fang Zhi finally revealed his true purpose, "I wanted to ask you, when the rehearsals for the arts performance begin, can I rehearse with you?"

"That's possible," the dance teacher hesitated for a moment, "but you mean you want to participate in practice without signing up to be the lead dancer?"

Fang Zhi nodded and softly hummed in agreement.

The list for this performance was finalized late, so she secretly started rehearsing without telling her brother. Once the rehearsals were done, the rest wouldn't be a big problem. School isn't home, and her brother can't monitor her every move at school 24/7.

The only remaining question is...

Fang Zhixiu's beautiful face showed a hint of embarrassment.

"Teacher, could you please keep my participation in the rehearsal a secret? Don't even tell the department leaders."

Although her brother did not have direct contact with her teacher.

But she knew that he would secretly ask the hospital leaders about her from time to time.

The dance teacher wasn't surprised by Fang Zhi's request. After all, almost all the teachers in the department knew that when the girl first enrolled at the school, the direct supervisor of the art department had given her special treatment.

Fang Zhi realized that the leaders of the institute had found out about the rehearsals, and who could guarantee that they wouldn't tell her family?

The dance teacher stared blankly into her eyes for a moment.

The girl's pure and innocent eyes sparkled with tiny, flowing lights, gentle yet firm.

As people spend more time in society, the pure land in their hearts diminishes, and their initial aspirations, love, and pursuit of art gradually fade away with time.

Even though other classmates in the class were quite impetuous on their artistic path, she found it difficult to find someone as pure as Fang Zhi in others.

She lost that genuine passion in the hustle and bustle of life, but as a teacher, she was willing to risk being called in for a talk by her superiors to support her students.

The dance teacher finally responded, "Okay."

Only then did I realize that her eyes were curved like the continuous misty rain of Jiangnan; lifting the curtain of rain revealed her delicate and tender charm.

"Thank you." She bowed deeply to the teacher.

The dance teacher chuckled softly, "You're welcome."

She also had her own selfish motives; by fulfilling her wishes, wasn't she also fulfilling the wish of the self that had lost its way along the way?

Since she was going to help, she was determined to see it through to the end. The dance teacher became serious and said, "The college leadership wants me to be fully in charge of the classical dance rehearsals and personnel this time."

"So I will hold back the main dancer list. You need to find a way to learn the main dancer content."

She patted the girl on the shoulder, her earnest tone filled with expectation, "Don't let your teacher down."

"Okay." Fang Zhirou clenched her fist. "I won't let you down." She was making a promise to her teacher, and also to herself.

This time, even her brother couldn't stop her.

-

After saying goodbye to her teacher, she found herself walking along a quiet path on campus. The evening breeze felt exceptionally gentle on her face, and the air was filled with the sweet fragrance of flowers. The last rays of the setting sun appeared in the sky alongside the hazy crescent moon.

As soon as he exited the school gate, a conspicuous luxury car was parked in its usual spot. He walked to the back of the car as usual and opened the door—

A man who usually hasn't finished get off work yet appeared in the car.

Fang Zhi's breath hitched. Could he have found out? No, impossible. She thought back to her own thoughts; she had just spoken to her teacher.

Unless he planted a listening device on her, her brother couldn't have found out about her participation in the rehearsal so quickly.

The man, who had just finished a video conference and was organizing documents on his laptop, looked up when he heard the noise. His eyes, behind his gold-rimmed glasses, were refined and gentle. He smiled and said, "Zhizhi, what are you standing there for? Get in the car."

"I didn't expect my brother to come pick me up today." Fang Zhi shifted her body and bent down to crawl into the carriage as she spoke.

Qi Shen smiled slightly, his words full of tenderness and doting, "I've almost finished dealing with things at the company, so I had the driver take a detour to pick me up from the company first, and then we came together to pick up Zhizhi." After speaking, he casually glanced at the time on his laptop screen.

After Fang Zhi was settled, he closed his notebook and put it aside. He reached out and stroked the girl's head, asking meaningfully, "Before Zhi Zhi came out, I heard the driver say that you came out half an hour later than usual today."

Qi Shen paused for a moment, "Did something happen at school?"

Before leaving, I knew I had already come up with an excuse to fool the driver.
