As soon as Teacher Zhang left the classroom, students who were curious about Fang Zhi surrounded him, asking questions all at once, making the whole scene chaotic.
"Fang Zhi, which school did you go to before? Why did you suddenly transfer schools?"
Wow, you're even more beautiful the closer I get to you.
"I saw you on campus. Is the boy who brought you your brother? You two are both so good-looking."
"So, what does your family do? My mother is a senior executive in a group company, and my father is a lawyer."
There were too many little radish heads surrounding it.
Facing the pairs of eyes staring at her, Fang Zhi's wet eyes were filled with helplessness.
Before her brother left, he told her not to associate too much with her classmates so as not to interfere with her studies, but it would be too impolite not to respond to everyone's enthusiasm.
The girl spoke softly, her voice gentle, "The person you met on campus was my brother on my first day of school."
She answered her classmates' questions one by one, but hesitated for a moment when asked about what her family did.
When Wang Ma gave her a bath yesterday, she said that since she had come to the Qi family, she should consider herself a member of the Qi family.
Forget about everything concerning Qingcheng Village and your adoptive mother; don't bring it up again.
"Huh?" One of the girls covered her mouth. "You've never been to school before? You didn't even go to kindergarten?"
Fang Zhi shook his head. "No."
A group of children were whispering and talking amongst themselves.
"How could someone not be attending kindergarten?"
"My mom says all children have to go to kindergarten."
"Yes, my mom said that too."
They kept talking back and forth, and Fang Zhi was clearly disappointed. Her short-haired classmate glanced at Fang Zhi, then stood up and shouted, "Aren't you guys annoying?"
"Class is about to start, hurry back to your seats."
The girl's round face puffed up like a pufferfish.
One of the boys made a face at her and said, "Liu Siyi, you're so fierce!"
"Get out of here!" The latter's eyes widened, and he raised his fist. "Otherwise, I'll beat you up."
The students knew that Liu Siyi was strong, even stronger than the boys, and after being threatened by her, they obediently scattered.
The surroundings quieted down. Fang Zhi breathed a sigh of relief, looked up at her deskmate, and smiled slightly, "Thank you."
Liu Siyi stared, somewhat stunned. The new classmate was so pretty and gentle. After snapping out of it, she scratched her head and chuckled sheepishly, "You're welcome, you're welcome."
Under the girl's clear, bright gaze, she stammered, "You're so gentle... um... I... my name is Liu Siyi, don't worry... I'll help you if you have any difficulties."
She spoke softly to her new deskmate, afraid of startling the well-behaved and beautiful porcelain doll.
Fang Zhi was amused by her silly behavior. "Okay, I understand." She repeated the girl's name, word by word with great seriousness, "Liu Siyi."
......
After spending a day together, Liu Siyi really liked Fang Zhi, her beautiful deskmate.
The only downside is that she is too quiet and gentle.
She was sitting in her seat reading a book, and she felt too embarrassed to bother her if she wanted to chat with her.
The bell rang, and the students gradually packed up their things and left the classroom.
After packing her schoolbag, Liu Siyi looked at Fang Zhi, who was still motionless, and asked in confusion, "Fang Zhi, aren't you leaving?"
"Yes, my brother told me to wait for him in the classroom to pick me up."
"Okay, I'll be going now." Liu Siyi stood up and waved. "Bye-bye, see you tomorrow."
The empty classroom was now empty except for Fang Zhi, whose face was bathed in the glow of the setting sun through the glass window.
His fair and clean face was tinged with orange, and the fine downy hairs were clearly visible. His expression was one of grievance and frustration.
I thought math was already difficult, but Chinese is even harder. There are pinyin initials and finals, and I don't recognize many characters.
The education in Qingcheng Village is not as good as in big cities. Even her younger sister had never taken an English class, so she knew absolutely nothing about it.
Apart from her, all the other students around her could communicate fluently in English.
Her deskmate was also dragged down by her.
The English teacher asked the students to practice conversations with their deskmates, and she didn't make it so that the two of them couldn't practice.
Qi Shen finally shook off the clingy Fu Shaosi and came to Fang Zhi's class.
The girl was staring blankly at her textbook with her head down, unaware of his arrival. From his angle, he couldn't see her expression or guess what she was thinking.
Qi Shen stared at her for a while. He didn't like this feeling at all. He couldn't grasp what she was thinking, and it seemed as if she was about to leave him the next second.
He moved his lips slightly, "Zhizhi."
"Brother." The familiar voice pulled the girl from her thoughts, and she looked up abruptly. "You're here."
"Yes, I'm sorry, Zhizhi." Qi Shen walked to the girl's desk, patted her head, his expression gentle and calm. "I was late because I had something to do."
Fang Zhi raised her lips slightly, "It's okay, it's still early."
In the morning, my schoolbag was empty and very light. By evening, it was stuffed full of textbooks and became heavy.
Qi Shen naturally picked up the girl's schoolbag and carried it in his hand. "Let's go home."
The heavy schoolbag made the veins on the boy's fair hands bulge, and he felt a little embarrassed to stand up. "Brother, I'll carry my own schoolbag."
"No need." Qi Shen bent down and smiled slightly, then tapped the girl's nose with his other hand. "Zhizhi is still growing. A heavy schoolbag will stunt her growth."
Fang Zhi blushed and said, "Oh, thank you, brother."
She looked at the boy who had nothing behind him and asked curiously, "Brother, didn't your teacher assign any homework? Don't we need to bring our textbooks home?"
"Yes." Qi Shen stood up straight. "I finished writing it at school."
"Brother is so amazing!" the girl exclaimed sincerely, then added dejectedly, "Unlike me, I don't understand a lot of what the teacher says, and I can't do my homework..."
Qi Shen casually curved his lips and walked forward, "With your brother here, Zhizhi, don't worry. I'll teach you when we get home."
"Hmm!" Fang Zhi's eyes lit up. Yes, she had an older brother, and her brother was very capable.
She caught up with the boy walking ahead, and the two figures, one tall and one short, walked through the campus against the backdrop of the setting sun.
A black sedan was waiting at the school gate. After they got in, it started and drove smoothly down the road.
The rear compartment.
Qi Shen glanced sideways at the girl beside him, and for the first time initiated a conversation in the car, his young voice slowly asking, "Zhizhi, did you make any new friends at school today?"
Fang Zhi paused for a moment, then thought about it seriously.
Friend? Does her deskmate Liu Siyi count? She helped her in the morning, and she was very grateful to her deskmate.
But they didn't say much today.
In Fang Zhi's understanding, a friend is someone with whom she has a very good relationship. She and Liu Siyi can't be considered friends yet.
Fang Zhi shook his head. "Not yet."
With his dark, tousled hair obscuring his eyes, Qi Shen chuckled softly, letting out a soft "hmm."
That's perfect. He doesn't need many people around him, nor does he need to worry about anyone. He himself is enough.
