Chapter 204 What needs explaining still needs explaining.

The two arrived at the elevator.

Minglang hurried over and said, "Just as you predicted, something happened to the old lady, and Ning Xin'er is trying to run away."

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened, and a chilling aura emanated from her. "Ning Wanzhen's current state is all thanks to her. She thinks she can just walk away, but it won't be that easy."

Upon hearing this, Rong Zhi's lips twitched almost imperceptibly. "Don't worry, she can't escape."

Minglang waited until they finished speaking before speaking, "Don't worry, Madam, I have already done as you instructed and had people keep an eye on her."

Sang Yu nodded late.

drop--

The elevator doors slowly opened.

Two people dressed as caregivers came out.

Sang Yuwan didn't pay any attention.

Rong Zhi pulled her from behind.

Minglang paused for half a second, then stood in front of them.

The two caregivers seemed startled and stood at the elevator entrance, looking nervous.

Sang Yuwan narrowed her eyes, her gaze filled with a chill.

Rong Zhi put his arm around her and they walked into the elevator.

Minglang went in last.

The elevator doors closed again.

Sang Yuwan took a step to the side and said coldly, "Second Master, is there something wrong with those two?"

Rong Zhi glanced sideways and said in a low voice, "It's always good to be careful."

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened, and her tone grew even colder, "You get nervous sometimes too."

Rong Zhi smiled slightly, "I'm not nervous about myself, but rather..."

Sang Yuwan glared at him fiercely.

Rong Zhi suddenly stopped talking.

Minglang stood in front of them, staring at the number keys.

drop--

The elevator quickly reached the first floor.

The three of them went out one after the other.

As Minglang walked, he called the bodyguards at the ward door, instructing them to increase their vigilance and not to let Ning Xin'er out under any circumstances.

Upon entering the car, Rong Zhi immediately raised the partition inside.

A subtle atmosphere flowed slowly through the air, like a thin veil gently covering every corner of the car. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, forming beams of light that occasionally fell upon the two of them.

Sang Yuwan didn't feel any warmth; instead, she felt a chill. Her throat itched, and she couldn't help but cough lightly.

Then, she opened her thermos and drank two sips of hot water.

Rong Zhi naturally took out a blanket and covered her with it.

Sang Yuwan put down her water glass and leaned back. "Alright, you can talk now."

Rong Zhi feigned confusion, "What did you say?"

Sang Yuwan tilted her head, her eyes somewhat stern. "What do you think?"

Rong Zhi carefully covered her with the blanket and said calmly, "Don't you already know?"

Sang Yuwan's heart pounded, and the redness in her eyes deepened. "I want to hear what you have to say."

Rong Zhi leaned back in his chair, tilting his head to look at her, his eyes dark and unfathomable.

Their eyes met, as if silent radio waves were dancing in the air.

A sense of tension and unease crept into my heart, making it hard to breathe.

The air inside the car seemed to freeze, and Sang Yuwan's every breath became unusually heavy, as if an invisible boulder was pressing on her chest, making her suffocate.

Fine beads of sweat gradually appeared on her forehead, slowly sliding down her cheeks, bringing a slight coolness, but doing nothing to alleviate her inner anxiety and panic.

Rong Zhi looked at her, his heart clenched, and he said with heartache, "How about we go back and talk about it later?"

Sang Yuwan grew increasingly uneasy, her eyes welling up with tears. After a few seconds of silence, she frowned and spoke in a low voice, "Speak now."

Rong Zhi took a deep breath, his tone heavy, "Back then, the person who performed the induced abortion on Ning Wanzhen was your mother, Lan Xin."

Sang Yuwan felt as if a boulder had been thrown into her heart, splashing water and creating surging waves that almost overwhelmed her.

She knows it's one thing.

When Rong Zhi told it, it was a completely different story.

That indescribable, complex emotion, like a rope woven from thorns, gradually wrapped around her heart.

The thorn slowly pierced through.

The rope was wrapped tighter and tighter.

Breathing is both stinging and painful.

Time seems to stretch out here, and every second feels incredibly heavy.

Seeing her pale face, Rong Zhi felt a pang of unease. He reached out and pulled her into a tight embrace. He said in a low voice, "This surgery might not have been your mother's choice."

Sang Yuwan was horrified. She struggled, tensed her back, and sat up straight. "It must have been Bo Yuanshan who forced her. It must be like that."

Rong Zhi nodded. "Bo Yuanshan deserves to be torn to pieces."

Sang Yuwan's eyes were red, and her voice was low and hoarse, "Perhaps, my parents' deaths weren't an accident, but rather..."

Rong Zhi's eyelids twitched heavily, and a cold glint appeared in his eyes. "If you want to investigate, I'll help you."

Sang Yuwan took a deep breath, her fingernails digging into her palms. "Okay."

This time, she did not refuse.

Simply because she didn't dare to investigate herself.

She was afraid that the results of the investigation would be just as she expected.

It took her a long time to accept the fact that her parents had died unexpectedly.

If it turns out they didn't die in an accident, but were murdered, she doesn't know what to do.

Rong Zhi held her cold hand, his brow furrowing slightly, and said, "Alright. Don't think about it anymore. Get some sleep. I'll wake you when we get there."

Sang Yuwan frowned, her eyes shrouded in deep sorrow.

The two said nothing more.

As they approached the Bo Group, Sang Yuwan, preoccupied with her thoughts, actually fell asleep.

Rong Zhi did not wake her up, but instead instructed Minglang to turn around and go to Nanshan Villa.

-

Sang Yuwan had a long dream.

The last rays of the setting sun slanted across the busy intersection, where a car and a heavy truck unexpectedly met, as if it were a cruel collision of fate.

The car's side was crushed by the truck's hard front, the car body was severely deformed, and glass shards were scattered all over the ground, as helpless and desolate as autumn leaves.

Bang--

A thunderclap resounded.

Blood was everywhere.

She suddenly opened her eyes.

The surroundings were unfamiliar.

The air was filled with a faint fragrance of orchids.

She glanced at it sideways and was shocked.

The space, painted in black, white, and gray, is cold, somber, and tranquil.

She had clearly been to this place before.

Rong Zhi's bedroom.

Her eyes widened, and she pulled back the covers to sit up. Then, she glanced at herself.

The clothes were not changed.

Her heart, which had been in her throat, slowly calmed down.

She sat quietly for a few minutes, then pursed her lips, clenched her right fist, and gently tapped her head. She murmured, "How could I have slept so soundly?"

Just as she was about to get out of bed, Rong Zhi pushed the door open and came in.

Sang Yuwan glanced at him and frowned. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow. "I called out, but I couldn't wake him."

Sang Yu got out of bed late and put on her slippers.

Pink cotton slippers.

It's still brand new.

A hint of surprise flashed in Sang Yuwan's eyes.

Rong Zhi walked towards her, smiling as he said, "Don't worry, no one has ever walked through here." He added at the end, "None of them have ever slept here either."

Sang Yuwan rolled her eyes at him and said irritably, "You're not human."

Rong Zhi's lips twitched. "What I meant was women."

Sang Yuwan walked towards the bathroom in her slippers, tossing him a sentence, "You don't need to explain to me."

Rong Zhi smiled gently, his eyes warm. "What needs to be explained still needs to be explained."
