Chapter 255 Someone Else

Sang Yuwan's breathing suddenly became heavy, as if a huge boulder was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.

She slowly got up and walked towards the French windows.

Seeing this, Rong Zhi also stood up.

I don't know when, but it started raining outside.

Sang Yuwan stood by the window, gazing at the drizzling rain outside. The raindrops formed lines, blurring the distant scenery.

Her fingers tapped lightly on the cold windowpane, each touch seeming to tell of her inner struggle and unease.

Rong Zhi walked to her side and said softly, "If it's a difficult answer, then don't say it."

Sang Yuwan frowned and spoke, her clear voice tinged with a hint of hoarseness, "Rong Zhi, I hate Bo Xingzhi, but I don't want him to die from conspiracy and scheming."

Rong Zhi took a deep breath, his deep eyes like an endless ocean with towering whirlpools that could drown people.

“I plotted against him, but the one who poisoned him was not me, but Bo Yuheng.”

A barely perceptible bitter smile appeared on Sang Yuwan's lips. "What about my mother?"

Rong Zhi was suddenly stunned. An indescribable shock surged through his body like an electric current, leaving him unable to move or speak for a moment.

After a few minutes, he finally managed to speak.

"You mean your mother also died from poisoning?"

Sang Yuwan's eyes were red and swirling with tears, yet they did not fall, echoing the raindrops outside the window and creating a lonely and sorrowful scene.

She sniffed, her voice growing hoarse. "Bo Qingmei sent me a death report for my mother, which stated the cause of death as poisoning."

Rong Zhi felt a chill run from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head, instantly overwhelming all his thoughts.

"Bo Yuanshan?"

Sang Yuwan's mind went blank for a moment, her head buzzing.

After a moment, she turned to the side, looked up, and stared into Rong Zhi's deep eyes.

"My parents' deaths were orchestrated by Bo Yuanshan, weren't they?"

Rong Zhi stood motionless, his eyes churning with unspoken emotions.

He and she stood facing each other.

The surrounding air seemed to freeze at that moment, and even breathing became unusually heavy and difficult.

Sang Yuwan stared at Rong Zhi, her cold, deep gaze seemingly piercing his eyes. "It really was him," she said, each word escaping from the depths of her throat. Rong Zhi gently placed his hands on her shoulders and slowly spoke, "Bo Xingzhi tampered with your mother's car to cover up his true parentage. In the end, your parents did indeed die in a car accident. But you said that the cause of death noted on your mother's death report was poisoning." Sang Yuwan was stunned. Rong Zhi continued, "If the death report is true, then the one who truly killed your mother is someone else." Sang Yuwan's heart trembled. A name flashed into her mind. She looked at Rong Zhi. Rong Zhi looked at her too. "I will investigate this matter thoroughly." Sang Yuwan's heart clenched, her eyes swirling with turmoil. She bit her lip and turned away angrily. Rong Zhi grabbed her, his voice filled with worry. "Where are you going?" Sang Yuwan's eyes darkened. "Qinghe Garden. 1308." Rong Zhi's heart tightened. He quickly embraced her, his voice low. "The matter hasn't been investigated yet. Don't act impulsively." Sang Yuwan trembled all over. "Rong Zhi, let me go." Rong Zhi held her even tighter. "Wanwan, calm down." Sang Yuwan's eyes reddened, and her teeth began to chatter involuntarily, making a "clucking" sound that was particularly clear in the quiet air. "I'm going to kill her, to avenge my mother." Rong Zhi held her close, gently stroking her back. His large, warm hand rested softly on her back, as if offering silent comfort and protection. The outline of his hand moved slowly across her skin, each touch like a gentle ripple. "Don't worry. Once the matter is investigated, you can kill me or torture me as you please." Sang Yuwan bit her lip, remaining silent. "Wanwan, close your eyes. Don't think about anything, okay?" Rong Zhi continued to gently pat her back, as tenderly as if soothing a child to sleep. Each pat was accompanied by his steady breathing and heartbeat, giving her an unprecedented sense of peace and security. After a while, Sang Yuwan loosened her tightly pursed lips. "Indeed, sinful people are born that way," Rong Zhi said. "Those who reap what they sow will not live." Sang Yuwan closed her eyes, took a deep breath, wanting all her emotions to slowly dissipate into the endless night with the rain.

Night falls.

A sudden, urgent phone call jolted Sang Yuwan awake.

"Wan'er, come to the hospital quickly, your brother is dying."
