Chapter 267 A Gunshot

Shen Yilin took off his baseball cap, a slight smile playing on his lips, a hint of barely perceptible mockery and contempt in his expression. "Second Young Master Ming, we meet again."

Ming Zhan's gaze darkened, and he pressed his fingertips firmly against his palm. Beads of sweat glistened on his forehead in the dim light.

"Shen Yilin, what are you trying to do?"

Shen Yilin's lips curled into a sinister smile. "I want Sang Yu to die late."

"Bastard." Ming Zhan's anger flared up instantly, and he made a move to grab his neck.

Shen Yilin nimbly dodged the attack, then opened the driver's side door and jumped out.

Ming Zhan got out of the car and said, "Shen Yilin, believe it or not, I'll kill you today."

Mingmei sat in the car without moving. After a few seconds, she secretly glanced at the driver's seat in front.

Shen Yilin did not remove the car keys.

She took a deep breath, pressed her lips together, and carefully turned off the car lights.

The car was plunged into darkness in an instant.

The light outside the car was also dim.

Ming Zhan swung his fist and swung it toward Shen Yilin's forehead.

Mingmei looked on, her cheek, which had just been slapped, now burning with pain.

"Mingzhan, this is all your own doing. Whether you live or die is none of my business."

Shen Yilin dodged Ming Zhan's punch again and then launched an attack.

Seeing the two fighting, Mingmei took off her shoes and carefully climbed from the back seat to the front driver's seat.

Shen Yilin and Ming Zhan are still fighting each other.

A fierce fight broke out, fists tracing sharp arcs through the air, accompanied by dull thuds and occasional roars. They pushed and shoved each other, kicking up dust and creating a chaotic vortex.

Ming Zhan's eyes flashed with rage, as if he wanted to devour the other person. "Shen Yilin, Wan'er has spared you many times, but you not only don't know how to be grateful, but you also want to kill her. I'll beat you to death today."

As Shen Yilin swung his fist, he sneered sinisterly, "It's still uncertain who will emerge victorious."

Ming Zhanjun's face was tense, and his clenched fists made his knuckles turn white.

Having been an athlete, his physical condition is much better than Shen Yilin's.

However, Shen Yilin was thin and very good at dodging and ambushing.

For a long while, neither of them could determine a winner.

Mingmei quietly climbed into the driver's seat and gripped the steering wheel with both hands. After a few minutes, she gritted her teeth and suddenly started the car.

Before Shen Yilin and Ming Zhan could react, she stepped on the gas.

The scarlet taillights, like two drops of molten lava, were dazzlingly bright in the night.

Bang--

Mingmei had driven less than a hundred meters when she heard a gunshot.

Her heart clenched suddenly, followed by a rapid and irregular pounding, as if it were about to leap out of her chest, carrying an indescribable panic and unease.

Ming Zhan was dressed in plain clothes and followed her out of the mourning hall; it was impossible for him to be carrying a gun.

Mingmei's throat felt as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, making even breathing difficult and heavy. A bone-chilling coldness rose from the soles of her feet.

She dared not stop the car, much less go down to check.

The car was going faster and faster.

She burst into tears from nervousness.

-

Nanshan Villa.

"Second Brother." Sang Yuwan suddenly woke up from her dream, her eyes filled with bright red blood vessels.

Rong Zhi, who was standing to the side, quickly turned around and looked over. "You're awake."

Sang Yuwan's heart felt as if it had been suddenly gripped by an invisible hand, the violent pounding sound particularly clear in the silent night.

She paused for a few seconds, then whispered, "How did I fall asleep?"

Rong Zhi got up, poured her a glass of warm water, handed it to her, and said gently, "Did you have a nightmare?"

Sang Yuwan's eyelids were heavy, still carrying the lingering confusion and bewilderment of a dream. She took a couple of sips of water, glanced around, and her expression tightened. "Why did you bring me here?"

Rong Zhi's eyes softened. "You're too tired. You need to rest."

Sang Yuwan put down her water glass and was about to get up.

Rong Zhi quickly pulled her back, "Sit down for a while, take a break before you go."

Sang Yuwan felt a strange panic in her heart. She took a deep breath and frowned. "I have to get back to the Ming family right away..."

Before she could finish speaking, the man in black knocked on the door and came in.

"Second Master, Madam, something has happened."

Sang Yuwan's pupils contracted, and her heart raced. The fragments of her dream pierced her mind like shards of glass, giving her a splitting headache.

Rong Zhi asked coldly, "What is it?"

The man in black lowered his head, deliberately avoiding Sang Yuwan's anxious gaze. "Young Master Ming has gone missing."

"What?!" Sang Yuwan's mind went blank for a moment, and she immediately stood up, her eyes widening slightly. "What happened to my second brother?"

Rong Zhi stood up and supported her shoulder.

The man in black pursed his lips and spoke again, "Two hours ago, the second young master of the Ming family and the fourth young lady of the Ming family left the old Ming family mansion together. They haven't returned to the Ming family yet. The last footage captured by the surveillance cameras was on Sakura Road in the southern part of the city."

He paused, then continued, "In the footage, another person appeared..."

"Who?" Sang Yuwan felt that the ground beneath her feet suddenly became unstable, making her feel as if she was about to fall.

Rong Zhi held her tighter, his eyelids slightly lowered, coldly glaring at the man in black. "Speak."

The man in black lowered his head and uttered the name, word by word, "Shen Yilin."

"What?" Sang Yuwan's heart clenched, and her body trembled slightly. After two seconds, her expression hardened, and she said in a cold voice, "He really doesn't want to live anymore."

After saying that, she started to walk out.

Rong Zhi pulled her away. "Wanwan, calm down."

Sang Yuwan's chest heaved violently, and the red in her eyes intensified. "Shen Yilin took my second brother away, it's obvious he's after me. I'm going to find him right now. This time, even if it means mutual destruction, I'll accept it."

Everyone has their own bottom line.

For the sake of the greater good, Sang Yuwan tolerated the harm Shen Yilin had done to her. But she would never allow him to hurt Mingzhan again.

If it weren't for him, Mingzhan wouldn't have retired so quickly.

They won't experience those rumors and gossip.

Rong Zhi forced Sang Yuwan to sit down on the sofa and held her cold hands tightly.

“I know you’re anxious, but we need to find out where Shen Yilin took Mingzhan.” Rong Zhi’s expression was calm and his tone was even. “As you said, Shen Yilin took Mingzhan away because of you. So he would never have killed Mingzhan before he saw you.”

Sang Yuwan's heart pounded. "Shen Yilin even dared to torture his own mother, he must..."

She didn't dare to continue.

Rong Zhi's eyes darkened. "As the heir of the Ming family, Ming Zhan will inevitably have to go through these things in the future."

Sang Yuwan looked up at him, her face full of anger, "What do you mean?"

“Wanwan, how could you become strong without experiencing hardships?” Rong Zhi’s voice was deep, his eyes sharp and cold.

Sang Yuwan's lips tightened, and two balls of anger leaped from her eyes.

Rong Zhi looked at the man in black and coldly ordered, "Bring Mingmei here."
