The smile on Sang Yuwan's face slowly disappeared, and her gaze toward Ning Wanzhen became complicated and unreadable.
Just as she was about to refuse again, Minglang walked over.
"Madam, the newly hired housekeeper has arrived. Would you like to have her interviewed again?"
He spoke with such conviction that he didn't seem to be lying at all.
Sang Yuwan was slightly taken aback.
When did she hire a nanny?
Ning Wanzhen frowned, her expression already showing some displeasure. "Wanwan, it seems I've gone to unnecessary trouble?"
Sang Yuwan's brow twitched slightly. Suppressing her doubts, she said calmly, "I've been so busy lately that I forgot."
Turning to Minglang, she said, "Let her in."
"yes."
The aunt Ning Wanzhen brought over was extremely embarrassed upon seeing this. She lowered her head and whispered, "Madam, since you have already found someone, I will go back now."
Sang Yuwan said, "I'm sorry to have troubled you to make this trip."
The aunt smiled awkwardly.
Ning Wanzhen watched as Minglang brought in a woman in her fifties, and a nameless anger suddenly surged within her. Her face darkened, "Wanwan, why don't we let them compete and see who is more suitable?"
Sang Yuwan's heart tightened. "Mom, this aunt has already been interviewed. Today is her first day of registering her household."
Ning Wanzhen stood up, walked to the woman Minglang had brought in, her expression hardening, and asked, "How old are you? Which place were you last at?"
The woman pointed to her ears, then to her mouth, and then waved her hand.
Ning Wanzhen frowned, "What's wrong with you?"
Sang Yuwan was also very puzzled, wondering where Minglang had found such a woman. Fortunately, she reacted quickly, "Mom, her name is Aunt Qiu, she is deaf and mute, and she just turned fifty this year. As for the previous family, they were a certain celebrity."
"A deaf-mute?" Ning Wanzhen frowned even more. "He can't hear or speak. How can someone like that take good care of you?"
Aunt Qiu nervously used sign language.
Ning Wanzhen couldn't understand it and said with a look of disdain, "Wanwan, can you understand it?"
Sang Yuwan replied, "She said she's very experienced and you can rest assured."
Ning Wanzhen was very dissatisfied, but she didn't want to cause a scene with Sang Yuwan. She frowned and said, "They're so difficult to communicate with, how can I feel at ease? How about this, Wanwan, since you haven't had breakfast yet, let them have a competition."
Sang Yuwan looked at her calmly and said, "Mom, the reason I chose Aunt Qiu is because she is deaf and mute."
Ning Wanzhen asked, puzzled, "Why?"
Sang Yuwan explained, "As a widow who has risen to a high position, I naturally have to be more vigilant than others. You know about Second Uncle and Third Uncle's ambitions..."
Ning Wanzhen's eyelids twitched, and she interrupted, "You mean, the person I found is unreliable?"
The aunt next to her turned pale.
Sang Yuwan glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, "The child in my belly is Xingzhi's only child. There are some things that you can't afford to try and fail at."
Ning Wanzhen was taken aback, glanced at her aunt, and began to have doubts.
Sang Yuwan smiled slightly, "Celebrities value their privacy the most, and Aunt Qiu's character has long been tested."
Ning Wanzhen pursed her lips, feeling displeased, but she didn't insist as much. "Wanwan, you should think this through."
Sang Yuwan said, "Mom, this child is very important to me. I absolutely cannot allow any accidents to happen."
Seeing that she had gone this far, Ning Wanzhen had no choice but to compromise, "Fine, whatever you say. Anyway, I can't help you with anything."
Sang Yuwan noticed the barb in her words, lowered her eyelashes slightly, and said nothing more.
Seeing that staying any longer was pointless, Ning Wanzhen coldly said to the woman beside her, "Let's go."
The woman replied tremblingly, "Yes."
Sang Yuwan escorted them to the villa entrance, then turned back, her expression suddenly changing. "Minglang, what exactly happened?"
Minglang followed her into the house, lowering his voice and speaking cautiously, "This person was brought over by the Second Master early this morning. He said you'll definitely need him."
Sang Yuwan paused, her eyes darkening. "I knew it was him."
Minglang pursed his lips. "Madam, the Second Master also said that he has investigated this aunt and she is very trustworthy."
Sang Yuwan frowned. "How much did Second Master give you to make you speak up for him? Send him away in a little while."
Minglang clenched his fingers and said with a forced smile, "Madam, why don't you keep it for now, in case the old lady comes again..."
Sang Yuwan glanced at him sideways, "Go and follow Second Master..."
"Is Madam sending the entire Ming family to me?"
A soft laugh came from behind.
Minglang breathed a sigh of relief and then stepped aside.
Sang Yuwan ignored her and walked inside in her slippers.
The people behind her quickened their pace and caught up with her.
"Take your people away." Sang Yuwan stepped upstairs and spoke coldly.
"She's yours now," the man behind her said in a low voice.
Sang Yuwan stopped, her gaze growing cold. She rose two steps, looking down at him.
"Rong Zhi, we're even now."
The man gently raised his eyes, his deep gaze as calm as a still sea. "If you agree to let Aunt Qiu stay, we'll be even."
"You scoundrel!" Sang Yuwan cursed angrily.
Rong Zhi took a long stride, leaping two steps in one go, and stood side by side with her.
Sang Yuwan asked angrily, "Is there anything else?"
Rong Zhi smiled and said, "Let's talk upstairs."
Sang Yuwan's lips tightened, and her chest rose and fell slightly. "Say what you need to say here."
Rong Zhi said, "It concerns Shen Yilin."
Sang Yuwan's pupils contracted, a flash of anger crossing her eyes. "What does the Shen family want?"
"Let's talk as we walk." Rong Zhi naturally took her arm.
Sang Yuwan struggled for a moment but couldn't shake him off, then yelled, "Let go!"
Rong Zhi moved closer to her and whispered, "I'll let go. Walk carefully."
Sang Yuwan's heart skipped a beat, feeling a mixture of annoyance and warmth. She parted her lips and said, "It's not like I can't walk."
Rong Zhi smiled slightly and slowly released his grip.
Sang Yuwan hurriedly lifted her foot and went upstairs.
Rong Zhi deliberately lagged behind her, walking behind her with a wary expression.
He calculated that Sang Yuwan must have gotten pregnant that night at the Shengshi Hotel.
Time flies, it's almost been a month in the blink of an eye.
Buzz—
Just as he was about to reach the second floor, his phone suddenly rang.
Upon picking it up and taking a look, his sword-like eyebrows immediately furrowed.
He stopped, looked up at Sang Yuwan, and said, "It's urgent, I have to go take care of it right away. I'll talk to you about Shen Yilin when we get to the company."
Sang Yuwan didn't even turn her head, coldly replying, "Hmm."
Rong Zhi added, "Aunt Qiu, stay here. She's more useful than the 'Parenting Guide'."
Sang Yuwan ignored him and went up to the third floor.
When Rong Zhi saw that she didn't speak, he knew that she had tacitly agreed.
"You were quite well-behaved today."
My phone kept vibrating.
He stepped down the stairs, saying, "Call me after he dies."
The tone was very strong.
When the news reached Sang Yuwan's ears, she was momentarily stunned.
Who is he talking to on the phone?
