Sang Yuwan composed herself and said calmly, "I'm fine."
Lan Xiya was still worried and asked again, "If it's nothing, why did Sister Jiang Wu come over?"
As Sang Yuwan walked upstairs, she answered her, "It was a routine check-up. I was too lazy to go to the hospital, so I had her make the trip."
Lan Xiya followed her steps, reaching out to help her, but then silently withdrew her hand. "Wanwan, is your body still able to handle it?"
Sang Yuwan's tone wasn't very enthusiastic. "It's alright."
Lan Xiya tightened her grip, pursed her lips, and took a few quiet breaths. "Wanwan, please don't push yourself. Everything should be for the sake of the child."
Sang Yuwan knew that she cared about her, but after hearing these words so many times, she no longer felt anything.
Seeing that she remained silent, Lan Xiya frowned, suppressing her displeasure, "Wanwan, don't blame me for being nosy, I just..."
"Alright. Auntie, I know you care about me." Sang Yuwan interrupted softly, pausing for a moment. "I finally don't have to go to work, I just want to rest quietly for a couple of days."
Lan Xiya smiled awkwardly, "I understand."
The two went up to the third floor, and Sang Yuwan sat down on the sofa. "Is Uncle Ming feeling any better lately?"
Lan Xiya sat down and put the things she was carrying on the coffee table. "He's much better. It's just that the weather is cold, and his old ailment has flared up again." Finally, she added, "He originally planned to come with me to see you today, but he got so angry with Mingmei that he didn't want to go out."
Sang Yuwan's expression froze slightly.
Minglang came up and brought two steaming cups of pear and white fungus soup.
"Madam, please enjoy your meal."
Lan Xiya smiled at him, "Alang, you should pay more attention to Wanwan in the future."
Minglang said respectfully, "Don't worry, Madam."
Sang Yuwan waited for him to go downstairs before asking Lan Xiya, "What's wrong with Mingmei?"
Mentioning Mingmei, Lan Xiya's emotions immediately rose, and her voice involuntarily became louder, "She called your Uncle Ming today and said she wanted to give Haitang Garden to her."
Sang Yuwan was slightly taken aback. "Haitang Garden? Isn't that where my elder brother lives now?"
“Who says otherwise?” Lan Xiya said resentfully. “Mingxiao is not in good health, and that place is quiet and most suitable for him to recuperate. Besides, he has been living there since he returned from recuperating abroad.”
Sang Yuwan frowned. "Although Haitang Garden is not my elder brother's private property, it doesn't belong to Mingmei either. What right does she have to want it?"
"Sigh." Sang Yuwan sighed, her expression becoming more somber. "When Grandpa Mingyi was alive, he casually mentioned that he would give Haitang Garden to Mingmei when she got married."
Sang Yuwan's heart sank. "Does Big Brother know?"
Lan Xiya said worriedly, "Your Uncle Ming scolded Mingmei and warned her that if she dared to go to Haitang Garden to find Ming Xiao, he would teach her a lesson."
Sang Yuwan took two sips of pear soup, and a faint sweet taste filled her mouth.
But I wasn't happy at all.
Lan Xiya added, "You said that Mingmei was just a joke the old man made, but she's remembered it for so many years."
Sang Yu drank the pear soup in the evening without saying a word.
Lan Xiya also took a couple of sips, pursed her lips, and said, "Besides, the old man said he would give Haitang Garden to her after she gets married. She doesn't even have a proper boyfriend right now, so who knows when she'll get married."
After saying that, she paused for a moment, then suddenly gripped the glass tightly. "Could she be with the second master of the Bo family..."
Sang Yuwan's heart skipped a beat, and her heartbeat quickened considerably. She took two more sips of pear soup, the bitterness lingering on her lips and teeth. Taking a deep breath, she said with a composed expression, "Auntie, there's nothing to make public, so don't speculate."
Lan Xiya nodded, her eyes still clouded with worry. "Last time, on your Uncle Ming's sixtieth birthday, Second Master Bo personally came to offer his congratulations. He and Mingmei were clearly a couple."
Sang Yuwan said calmly, "The man is unmarried and the woman is unmarried. Even if they are a couple, it's perfectly normal."
"That won't do. Mingmei can marry anyone, just not the Bo family." Lan Xiya emphasized, "You and she have never gotten along since you were little. If she marries into the Bo family, there will definitely be chaos. Who knows, one day she might even try to take advantage of you."
She took a big gulp of pear soup and said, "Wanwan, you are now the head of the Bo family. You must step in and stop this."
Sang Yuwan put down the glass of pear soup that still had a little bit left, her brow furrowed, and she said meaningfully, "If they are truly in love, how can I stop them?"
"What kind of person is Mingmei? Others may not know, but don't you and I know her too? Over the years, the rumors about her have never stopped. Not long ago, wasn't she rumored to be having an affair with that producer?" Lan Xiya frowned, her eyes filled with disdain.
Sang Yuwan smiled, a cool smile playing on her lips, "Maybe she's met her true love this time."
Lan Xiya frowned even more. "I just don't understand. How could someone like Second Master Bo have taken a liking to her?"
Sang Yuwan felt a tightness in her chest. She leaned back, pressed her temples, and whispered, "Who knows?"
Lan Xiya's next words made her gasp for breath and feel as if she had been struck by lightning.
"Even if he's going to look for someone, he should look for someone like you..."
"Auntie?"
Lan Xiya froze, then gave an awkward laugh. "Wanwan, what I meant was..."
"Stop." Sang Yuwan interrupted her again, "You're getting more and more outrageous, stop talking."
"Okay. Okay." Lan Xiya lowered her head and finished the rest of the pear soup in one gulp.
A brief silence fell over the air.
Lan Xiya gently placed the glass on the coffee table, looked at Sang Yuwan, and tentatively asked, "Wanwan, shall I go back now?"
Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened, and she said, "Auntie, how about I buy Haitang Garden?"
Lan Xiya paused for half a second, then blinked her eyelashes. "You want to give it to Mingxiao?"
"Hmm." Sang Yuwan pursed her lips. "That way, no matter how much Mingmei makes a fuss, it won't work."
Lan Xiya said with worry, "Let's not even talk about whether your Uncle Ming is willing to sell Haitang Garden to you. If Ming Xiao finds out, I'm afraid he won't accept it."
Sang Yuwan thought for a moment, "Should I resell it to my second brother?"
“Ming Xiao is so perceptive, he’ll definitely be able to figure it out immediately,” Lan Xiya said worriedly.
Although she had reservations about Mingyu because of the issue of succession, she still cared about Mingxiao. After all, they had lived under the same roof for so many years.
Sang Yuwan frowned. "Are we just going to let Mingmei cause trouble like this?"
Lan Xiya was silent for a few seconds, then frowned. "Your Uncle Ming will handle it."
Sang Yuwan parted her lips slightly, "If she makes a scene in front of my elder brother, how can he still live in peace?"
Lan Xiya gritted her teeth, "She wouldn't dare."
"What wouldn't she dare to do?" Sang Yuwan's voice turned colder. "Haven't she caused enough trouble since she was a child?"
Lan Xiya froze. "Wanwan, what do you think we should do?"
