Chapter 187 In the Evening of Life, Tell Me, What Did You Feel?

Rong Zhi came out of the bathroom and went to the bedroom, only to find no one there. His heart tightened suddenly. He quickly walked out.

Hearing the noise, Sang Yuwan looked up. In her line of sight, a tall man was only wrapped in a bath towel. His chest was bare, revealing his well-defined abdominal muscles. His long legs were strong and powerful.

"Put your clothes on." Sang Yuwan's ears turned red, and she hurriedly looked away.

Rong Zhi stood there, narrowed his eyes, and curled his lips, "I didn't bring any clothes with me."

Sang Yuwan choked on her words, annoyed, "Rong Zhi, you really have no shame."

Upon hearing this, Rong Zhi's lips twitched almost imperceptibly. Then, he calmly walked towards her. "Madam says I'm shameless, then I..."

"Shameless!" Sang Yuwan's heart tightened, and she hurriedly stood up, her pretty face filled with anger.

Rong Zhi saw her walking towards the bedroom and prepared to follow.

"Stop right there! Don't move!" Sang Yuwan gritted her teeth and scolded in a low voice.

Rong Zhi stopped abruptly.

Sang Yuwan quickened her pace and headed towards the dressing room.

Rong Zhi watched her retreating figure, his eyes darting around, his emotions barely concealed. His gaze was filled with joy, sincerity, and an unspeakable love.

Just as he was about to turn around, Sang Yuwan came over.

"Change into it quickly."

The next second, a set of men's clothes was thrown heavily on him.

He picked them up and saw that they were the shirt and trousers he had left behind last time. They were neatly ironed.

Sang Yuwan, her chest heaving and her pretty face contorted with anger, walked to the sofa and sat down again.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Rong Zhi preparing to untie his bath towel.

She quickly turned to the side, her back to him, took a deep breath, and whispered, "Go inside and change!"

Rong Zhi curled his lips into a smile, his dark eyes filled with a gentle laughter. "It's not like I haven't seen it before."

Sang Yuwan's breath hitched, her face flushed crimson, and her heart raced. She grabbed a cushion and clutched it tightly. Her lips tightened, and the anger in her eyes deepened.

Rong Zhi quickly changed his clothes, slowed his pace, and walked step by step to her side.

Seeing that he was about to sit down next to her, Sang Yuwan quickly moved to the side.

Upon seeing this, Rong Zhi's eyes revealed a playful smile.

He was teasing her on purpose.

She moved slightly, and he followed suit.

Finally, with nowhere left to retreat, Sang Yuwan leaned against the sofa armrest.

Her delicate features were now tinged with anger, revealing a different kind of allure. Her voice rose, "Rong Zhi, stay away from me!"

Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow, his gaze deep and gentle. "Are you afraid?"

Sang Yuwan turned her head and glared at him fiercely, "Nonsense."

Rong Zhi stood close to him, arms outstretched, casually draped over the back of the sofa. His posture was languid yet subtly suggestive. "If you're not afraid, why are you hiding?"

"If I want to avoid you, will you let me in?" Sang Yuwan's gaze turned cold, her delicate brows furrowed, and her low voice was filled with anger.

Rong Zhi crossed his legs, his ankles exposed, revealing a touch of masculine allure.

Before he could speak again, Sang Yuwan said in a deep voice, "Today is the last time I'm letting you in. From now on, there will be no further connection between us."

Rong Zhi's brows furrowed slightly, and he smiled as he said, "I am the father of your child. How could we be unrelated?"

Sang Yuwan's pupils contracted, and she glared at him resentfully, "You really are a scoundrel!"

Rong Zhi was not annoyed by these words; in fact, he raised an eyebrow. “If cursing me makes you feel better, then keep cursing.”

“You…” Sang Yuwan was so angry she was speechless.

Rong Zhi lightly tapped his fingers on the back of the chair, his smile deepening, revealing a tender affection.

Seeing that he remained silent, Sang Yuwan's anger flared. She took a deep breath, turned her head, gritted her teeth, and pinched his arm hard.

"Hiss..." Rong Zhi winced in pain, his brow furrowing slightly as he let out a soft groan. He then took a deep breath.

Sang Yuwan's anger had not subsided, and she raised her hand to pinch him again.

This time, however, they did not succeed.

Rong Zhi quickly grabbed her wrist, feigning a pained expression, "How about we try another method?"

Sang Yuwan's eyes darkened, and she gritted her teeth, "I thought Second Master was fearless, but I didn't expect him to be afraid of pain."

Rong Zhi held her wrist and gently placed it on his knee. His eyelids were slightly lowered and his lips curved upward. "I am a human, not a god."

Sang Yuwan sneered, "Second Master is so high and mighty, how could he be a human being?"

Rong Zhi realized she was being sarcastic, raised an eyebrow, and laughed, "Gods don't have hearts, but I do."

Sang Yuwan looked at him, their eyes met, and a unique feeling spread between them.

An ambiguous atmosphere filled the surrounding air, and the temperature gradually rose considerably.

The two were only inches apart, yet it felt as if they were separated by a thousand mountains and rivers. They were so close, yet they could not touch each other.

In each other's eyes, there is the Milky Way, and there is the darkness.

Rong Zhi's breathing grew heavy, his Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and his voice was low and hoarse, "We..."

A wave of panic washed over Sang Yuwan, and a blush crept onto her face. Before he could finish speaking, she hurriedly interrupted, "We have absolutely no relationship."

Rong Zhi lowered his gaze slightly, pursed his thin lips, and grasped her wrist, letting her palm rest against his chest. "Sang Yuwan, tell me, what do you feel?"

Beneath his muscular chest beat a powerful, pounding heart. A heart pounding wildly. A heart burning with intense heat.

Sang Yuwan froze instantly, her palms going numb as if she had touched a powerful electric current.

Time stopped.

The air suddenly became still; you could hear a pin drop.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Rong Zhi remained silent. He simply gazed at her quietly, his eyes overflowing with tenderness.

Buzz—

The sudden vibration of a cell phone shattered the silence of the room.

Sang Yuwan suddenly snapped back to reality and forcefully pulled her hand back. Her chest heaved violently.

Rong Zhi glanced at his phone screen, his gaze darkening. He slowly stood up and said to Sang Yuwan, "I'm taking this call."

Sang Yuwan remained silent.

Rong Zhi got up and walked to the window.

"explain."

His deep, cold voice conveyed the domineering and authoritative nature of someone in a superior position.

"Second Master... *sobs*"

The person on the other end of the phone had barely called his name when she burst into tears.

Rong Zhi's brow furrowed, his expression suddenly turning cold and stern. "What happened?"

"Second Master... Sister Wan is really blacklisting me this time..."

The caller was none other than Mingmei.

Rong Zhi's eyes were icy cold, and his tone grew even colder, "You still dare to provoke her!"

Mingmei was stunned for a few seconds, then sobbed, "I didn't do anything to her..."

"You mean she's just looking for trouble?" Rong Zhi's eyes were cold, revealing a hint of murderous intent.

Mingmei paused, her breathing becoming noticeably heavier. "Second Master, I didn't say she was causing trouble. I really didn't provoke her this time. I just want to take back what's rightfully mine."

Rong Zhi looked at the glass window, his reflection silent.

The person on the sofa leaned against the armrest of the chair, looking somewhat tired.

It's past 2 a.m., and normally people would be resting long ago.

She's still up so late tonight; she's clearly preoccupied.

Bright sunshine is probably one of the reasons she can't sleep.
