Chapter 239 Be Brave and Be Yourself

"Sister-in-law?" Bo Xinglan's eyes widened, her pupils reflecting a trace of fear and unease.

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened, and she said to the housekeeper, "Tell her that I deliberately left Xinglan here."

The butler said in a low voice, "I've already explained it to her, but she insists on taking Miss Liu back today, otherwise she'll just sit at the gate and refuse to leave."

Bo Xinglan was startled, feeling as if a huge rock was pressing down on her chest, making it hard to breathe.

She looked at Sang Yuwan, her eyelashes fluttering incessantly.

Sang Yuwan's expression hardened, and her tone became authoritative. "Since she wants to guard the door for me, then so be it."

Bo Xinglan's heart tightened, and she lowered her head helplessly, letting the panic completely engulf her. It was as if she had fallen into an endless abyss of darkness, awaiting an unknown fate.

From the moment she was born, her fate seemed to be in the hands of others.

Bo Hanshan and Fang Yi were determined to marry her into a top-tier wealthy family, and their upbringing of her from childhood was all for this purpose.

At the same time, they set all sorts of rules for her. Whenever she made a mistake, she would be scolded by them. Over time, her personality became somewhat weak.

After the accident, she lost the will to live.

Instead of comforting her, Bo Hanshan and Fang Yi hit her.

If it weren't for Sang Yuwan's guidance and protection, she might not be in this world anymore.

For the past week, her mother, Fang Yi, had been staying at the hospital with Bo Hanshan, ignoring her completely. Unexpectedly, no sooner had she left Dongli Hospital than someone tipped Fang Yi off.

She didn't think her mother took her back because she was worried about her.

She was timid, but not stupid.

Sang Yuwan glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, then said to the butler, "Give the order that no one is allowed to approach her, and no one is allowed to have any communication with her."

The butler bowed slightly. "Yes, Master."

Watching his departing figure, Sang Yuwan whispered, "Xinglan, do you want to go back with your mother?"

Bo Xinglan's eyes dimmed, and her lips trembled slightly. "I don't want to."

Sang Yuwan nodded silently. "Alright, from today onwards, you will live here until the day you are truly independent."

Bo Xinglan's heart skipped a beat. Sister Yu blinked violently twice, her eyes glistening with tears. Not tears of sadness or grief, but tears of deep emotion.

Sang Yuwan was the first person to tell her to be independent and live her own life.

Tears welled up in Bo Xinglan's eyes, eventually sliding down her cheeks and dripping into the lake of her heart, creating ripples upon ripples.

These tears are a farewell to the hardships of the past, and also an expectation for the infinite possibilities of the future.

She took a deep breath, her eyes shining brightly. "Thank you, sister-in-law."

Sang Yuwan pursed her lips and smiled faintly, "If you really want to thank me, then work hard."

“Sister-in-law, I will.” Bo Xinglan’s gaze was resolute. She added at the end, “I definitely will.”

Sang Yuwan smiled and looked at her quietly.

An approving gaze, like the warm sunshine of spring, gently falls upon Bo Xinglan's heart, bringing endless encouragement and affirmation. It is a soft yet bright light that slowly overflows from the depths of her eyes, as if containing a thousand words of praise and encouragement.

Bo Xinglan's brows gradually relaxed, and her clear pupils were like the brightest stars in the night sky.

Sang Yuwan was silent for a few minutes, then asked Bo Xinglan, "Xinglan, will you play ball with me for a while?"

Bo Xinglan agreed without hesitation. "Okay."

In one corner of the activity room, there is a pool table.

Sang Yuwan and Bo Xinglan each picked a golf club, warmed up briefly, and then started playing.

They all seemed to have forgotten that at this very moment, Fang Yi was still waiting at the main gate of the house.

-

After leaving the activity room, the butler deliberately lingered for a while before going to the door to deliver a message.

Fang Yi immediately frowned and asked him incredulously, "Did Sang Yuwan really say that?"

The butler stood ramrod straight, hands clasped, his face serious. "That's right. That's exactly what the head of the family ordered."

Fang Yi's anger erupted in an instant, as if her long-suppressed emotions had found an outlet. Her breathing became rapid and heavy, and her chest rose and fell with the fluctuations of her emotions.

She took two deep breaths, her eyes suddenly turning sharp as knives, her pupils flashing with undeniable fury.

"Why should she let Xinglan stay? No, I have to take Xinglan back today."

The butler spoke calmly and respectfully, "The head of the family also said that from today onwards, the Sixth Miss will be living here."

He paused, then deliberately emphasized his words, "She also said that if anyone dares to disturb Miss Six, they will be punished according to family rules."

Upon hearing this, Fang Yi involuntarily shivered.

She had already witnessed the Bo family's strict rules. Today, she even saw Ning Xin'er barely clinging to life.

Fang Yi clenched her fingers, her lips pressed into a tight line, her face a mixture of red and white.

The butler's expression remained unchanged as he added, "Please step back a little; this door should be closed now."

Fang Yi's breath hitched, her eyes widening. "What do you mean?"

The butler had already grabbed the edge of the door with one hand, as if to close it.

What are you doing?

Fang Yi's face seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, every inch of her skin revealing tension and displeasure. Her brows were furrowed into an insurmountable mountain, and the anger simmering in her eyes seemed capable of igniting everything.

The butler frowned slightly. "The head of the family said that if you want to guard the door, you should stand outside the door."

Fang Yi's emotions completely erupted, surging like a tidal wave, making her breathing rapid and unsteady.

She gritted her teeth and took deep breaths. Each inhale seemed to be gathering strength for an upcoming outburst, her chest heaving violently with the fluctuations of her emotions.

"What?"

The butler closed one half of the door, then went to close the other half. He stared at Fang Yi, his tone already showing a hint of impatience.

"Someone come here."

The two servants immediately rushed over, "Steward, what are your orders?"

The butler's expression darkened slightly; his face was like a frozen surface in winter, devoid of any warmth. His brows were furrowed, forming an indescribable peak.

His eyes were deep and sharp, as if they could see into the deepest, most hidden corners of people's hearts. The wrinkles on his forehead inadvertently revealed the marks of time, but also added a touch of undeniable authority.

He slowly spoke to the servants, "The head of the family said that from now on, no one is allowed to disturb the Third Madam. Nor is anyone allowed to speak to her. If I find out, I will be punished according to family rules."

"Yes." The servant bowed and answered respectfully.

Fang Yi paused for half a second, her anger rising. She gritted her teeth and was about to rush inside.

The steward gave a wink to the two servants.

"I'm sorry, Third Madam." Two servants grabbed Fang Yi's arms and pulled her away.

"You...you all..." Fang Yi was so angry she couldn't speak.
