Sang Yuwan waited a few seconds, but he didn't continue. So she slowly asked, "What happened between Master Bo and Gu Jingheng?"
Having already spoken, Liu Changqing had no choice but to continue, "He said that the deaths of Master Bo and Secretary Gu were suspicious and very likely murders."
Sang Yuwan heard heavy breathing sounds beside her.
Liu Changqing probably breathed a sigh of relief.
His words were like a muffled thunderclap, exploding above Sang Yuwan's head. Her heart clenched, and a dull ache filled her internal organs.
She thought Liu Changqing would say that Bo Xingzhi and Gu Jingheng had an inappropriate relationship. She never expected it to be like this.
After a moment's hesitation, Sang Yuwan suppressed her emotions and asked coldly, "What else did he say?"
Liu Changqing swallowed hard, breathing slightly heavily, "He only said that one sentence..."
“Mr. Liu, think about it carefully. There should be more than just this one sentence.” Sang Yuwan sat back down on the sofa, her starry eyes slightly darkened, her lips tightened, and she exuded an indescribable coldness.
Liu Changqing said in a flustered tone, "Chairman, let me think about it again."
Several seconds passed.
He seemed to just remember, "Oh right, he also said something. He said he has evidence of the unnatural deaths of Master Bo and Gu Jingheng. If you want it, he can sell it to you."
Sang Yuwan's lips curled up slightly.
Just as she expected, Gu Jingheng's parents did not give up and still wanted to make money off her.
Last time, even with overwhelming evidence right in front of her, she didn't compromise.
This time, it won't happen again.
Her breath hitched, and she said seriously, "Mr. Liu, please tell him that if he really wants to sell me what he has, he should come to me in person."
Before Liu Changqing could speak, she added, "Some things, when passed around, can easily be misinterpreted."
Liu Changqing was taken aback. "Chairman, I didn't hide anything..."
“I didn’t say you were hiding something.” A cold glint flashed in Sang Yuwan’s eyes. “I just thought it was a bit troublesome. You know I’ve always hated beating around the bush.”
Liu Changqing was filled with fear and unease. "Chairman, I will definitely tell him every word you said."
"Is there anything else?" Sang Yuwan asked indifferently.
Liu Changqing replied, "That's all..."
Sang Yuwan hung up the phone.
She leaned back in the sofa, her brows slightly furrowed, a faint gloom settling over her pretty face.
Bo Xingzhi, that scumbag, is clearly dead, yet he keeps appearing in her life.
Once one problem is solved, another one arises.
She couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. Bo Xingzhi was dead; she could have just left. Why did she have to stay?
Sang Yuwan knew that even if she knew the real reason why Bo Xingzhi approached her, she would still choose to stay after his death.
Because she wanted to fulfill her promise to Bo Yuanshan.
Six years ago, she was kicked out of the Ming family by Ming Yu. On her way to her parents' old home, she was involved in a bizarre car accident and was trapped inside the car, covered in blood.
For some reason, after the incident, not only were there no pedestrians passing by, but there were also no passing vehicles.
She was on the verge of death and had no way to call the police or dial emergency services.
Time ticked by, and she felt her blood slowly draining away.
Through her blurry vision, she saw her father and mother.
"Wanwan, come with us, let's go home together."
With her remaining consciousness, Sang Yuwan knew clearly that her parents had long since died, and the images before her were all hallucinations.
Deep down, however, there was immense hope.
She opened her mouth slightly, "Mommy, Daddy, save me..."
"Wanwan... Wanwan..."
An anxious male voice, ethereal and hazy.
She slowly closed her eyes.
I woke up again.
It was already the afternoon of the second day.
I opened my eyes and saw a refined and gentle middle-aged man sitting by the hospital bed.
He smiled at her and said gently, "You're awake."
"Who are you?" Sang Yuwan opened her eyes wide, paused, and her eyelids twitched suddenly. "You are Chairman Bo?"
Bo Yuanshan nodded slightly.
Her heart raced, and she asked him incredulously, "Did you save me?"
Bo Yuanshan smiled and said, "Yes."
Upon hearing this, Sang Yuwan struggled to get up and express her gratitude.
Bo Yuanshan gently pressed down on her shoulder. "Don't move. Be careful not to reopen the wound."
When Sang Yuwan saw him, she felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity, her eyes suddenly reddened, and her eyes filled with tears.
"Chairman Bo, thank you for saving me..."
"This can be considered fate between us. I was originally going to another place, but I changed my plans at the last minute, which is why I met you." Bo Yuanshan's expression was calm, without any of the arrogance of someone in a high position.
Sang Yuwan felt as if something was pressing on her throat, and she could no longer make a sound.
Bo Yuanshan slowly stood up. "Focus on recovering. Don't worry about the expenses."
Sang Yuwan's eyes were red, she pursed her lips, and tears rolled down her cheeks silently.
Bo Yuanshan gave a few more instructions to the caregiver who was looking after her, and then left.
Bo Yuanshan did not appear until Sang Yu was discharged from the hospital.
Sang Yuwan, remembering his life-saving grace, went to the Bo Group.
Looking back now, she realizes that if she hadn't been so insistent on thanking Bo Yuanshan, her life would have been completely different.
She met Bo Xingzhi on her first visit to the Bo Group.
A man who brought her endless shame and intended to drag her into an endless abyss.
Buzz—
The sudden vibration of her phone startled Sang Yuwan from her reverie.
She picked it up and saw that it was Rong Zhi.
Take a deep breath and slide open your phone screen.
"What's up?"
His voice was a little hoarse.
"Have you caught a cold?"
Rong Zhi's tone was low.
Sang Yuwan took a sip of water and said calmly, "No."
"It seems you already know about Ning Wanzhen transferring her shares to Ning Xin'er," Rong Zhi said.
Sang Yuwan raised an eyebrow slightly, smiled, yet it seemed she didn't smile at all. "So what if I know?"
Rong Zhi spoke in a low, husky voice, "Do you want Ning Xin'er to be disappointed?"
Sang Yuwan smiled genuinely, "Second Master has a solution?"
Rong Zhi chuckled as well, "Has Madam forgotten what I do for a living?"
Sang Yuwan raised an eyebrow. "I'm afraid this matter will be a bit difficult to handle."
Rong Zhi said, "It's not difficult."
Sang Yuwan's mood suddenly lightened, and her facial features softened. "Then I'll be waiting to see the show."
Rong Zhi responded, "Okay."
The lake of Sangyu Wanxin rippled once again, with concentric circles of ripples shimmering with light.
An inexplicable flutter of emotion.
Rong Zhi added, "Get some rest. Good night."
Sang Yuwan blurted out, "Good night."
Just as she was about to hang up, a sharp pain pierced her heart, and she said, "Gu Jingheng's father said that Bo Xingzhi and Gu Jingheng did not die accidentally, but were murdered. Second Master, what do you think of this?"
