Sang Yuwan was furious. She stood up abruptly, her lowered gaze icy cold.
"Rong Zhi, you are shameless."
"The business world is always a place of competition and deception. Madam has held a high position for four years, and she doesn't even know this?"
Rong Zhi's eyes darkened, and his voice turned cold.
Cold, indifferent words, like a sharp knife, pierced Sang Yuwan's heart. Blood spurted, and her whole body went cold.
"Very good. Thank you, Second Master, for giving me a free lesson."
Sang Yuwan's voice was tinged with anger, trembling slightly, each word seeming to be squeezed out from between her teeth.
Rong Zhi lifted his somewhat heavy eyelids, his expression unchanged, and said, "You're too kind, Madam."
Sang Yuwan said angrily, "Don't call me that."
Rong Zhi's expression was calm, and his tone revealed no emotion. "If I don't call you Madam, should I call you Wanwan?"
Sang Yuwan's breath hitched, her mind went blank for a moment, and her ears turned bright red. "Rong Zhi, you..."
Rong Zhi twirled the bouquet, his lips twitching almost imperceptibly. "Provocation."
He looked up.
She lowered her eyes.
The two sides were like chess players, scrutinizing each other. The atmosphere was like a fully drawn bow, ready to explode at any moment.
Sang Yuwan was inwardly furious. She took a deep breath and raised an eyebrow. "Second Master can call me 'Sister Wan'."
He was a bright and cheerful boyfriend, so it was perfectly acceptable for her to call him "sister."
Rong Zhi slightly lifted his eyelids, “…”
“Madam, it’s time to go.” Xian Si’s voice came from the doorway.
She glared at Rong Zhi fiercely, her voice cold and deep, "Second Master, you'd better watch yourself."
Rong Zhi's sharp lips twitched, his deep eyes holding an inscrutable meaning.
His pale, faint smile was like scattered white snowflakes.
Sang Yuwan turned and left with a cold expression.
Rong Zhi watched her aloof back, his gaze softening slowly. He raised his hand and plucked the petals that had fallen on his face, one by one.
-
As Sang Yuwan came out of the ward and was about to walk towards the elevator, a woman wearing sunglasses and a mask walked towards her.
"Fourth Miss?" Minglang recognized her and immediately rushed to Sang Yuwan's side.
Xiansi's expression tightened.
Sang Yuwan tugged at Minglang's arm and said coldly, "Get out of the way."
"Madam?" Minglang's eyes were filled with vigilance.
Before Sang Yuwan could speak, the woman opposite her slowly said, "Minglang, your wife just helped me, and I'm already grateful to her. How could I possibly hurt her?"
Minglang lowered his voice and said angrily, "Fourth Miss, from childhood to adulthood, you have done many things to hurt Madam."
Mingmei pushed up her sunglasses and smiled faintly, "That was all because I was immature back then. Minglang, have I done anything wrong these past few years?"
Minglang snorted coldly, "You know perfectly well what you've done."
Sang Yuwan's face was as cold as ice, her eyes clear and detached. "Minglang, there aren't enough things to do."
The implication is that they still have time to chat idly here.
Minglang lowered his head, "Madam, I..."
Sang Yuwan's gaze swept lightly over Mingmei, and the corners of her lips turned up as if she were smiling.
Contempt, sarcasm, ridicule, and authority.
Mingmei's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes, hidden behind her sunglasses, suddenly shrank back.
Unexpectedly, the orphan she once looked down upon had already surpassed her by a great deal.
His gaze, his speech, his demeanor—all exude the air of a strong person.
She could have had all of this.
If she had worked a little harder, the position of Bo Xingzhi's wife would have been hers.
Sang Yuwan strode forward, brushing past her. The charm and aura emanating from the other woman made her heart clench sharply.
Minglang kept staring at her.
Xiansi remained expressionless, as if she hadn't seen her at all.
Mingmei clenched her fingers, a hint of resentment rising in her eyes.
She stood there for a full five minutes before taking a step.
The man in black stopped her.
"I am Mingmei." Mingmei looked around and lowered her voice.
The man in black had an icy expression. "No matter who it is, Second Master will not see them."
"Didn't Sang Yuwan just come out from inside?" Mingmei frowned and blurted out.
The man in black glanced at her and said coldly, "You dare to compare yourself to my lady?"
A sharp pain pierced her heart, and her face beneath the mask turned deathly pale instantly.
The man in black shouted, "If you don't leave, don't blame me for being impolite."
Seeing this, Mingmei suppressed her anger and softened her tone, "Please give this to Second Master and wish him a speedy recovery."
The man in black reached out and took the gift box and flowers she handed him.
Mingmei glanced at the closed hospital room door, a glint of malice flashing in her eyes. She gritted her teeth, thinking, "Sang Yuwan, I will definitely become someone superior to others. Then, I will humiliate you properly."
Buzz—
My phone suddenly vibrated.
Mingmei's eyes lit up when she saw the incoming call. Taking a deep breath, she said in a charming tone, "President Yang..."
After the other party finished speaking, her expression changed drastically. "President Yang, why do you want to replace me... Shen's Group?"
Snap—
The bright phone suddenly slipped from her palm and fell to the ground.
The man in black remained indifferent.
"How could this happen?" Mingmei stared blankly, her mouth slightly agape.
Seeing this, the man in black said expressionlessly, "Get out of here now."
Mingmei's breath hitched, her head felt numb and throbbing, and her arms trembled slightly.
She stood there motionless, like a marionette.
A sanitation worker pushed a medical waste cart over and, seeing her standing in the middle of the aisle, reminded her, "Excuse me, could you please move aside?"
Mingmei's heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly bent down to pick up her phone.
The cleaner walked in a hurry and brushed past her before she could move aside.
The cold, hard garbage truck crashed into Mingmei, scattering many of its contents onto the ground.
She had several dirty scraps of paper clinging to her body, and she smelled terrible.
The cleaner glared at her and muttered, "She's sick."
Mingmei's expression froze, her face stiffening, and her eyes widened behind her sunglasses. "Are you blind? Didn't you see anyone?"
The cleaner retorted angrily, "I told you to move aside, are you deaf?"
Mingmei's heart pounded, her chest heaving violently. "Do you know who I am?"
"I don't care who you are!" The cleaner picked up the broom and swept it twice in annoyance. Whether it was due to excessive force or intentional, the edge of the broom brushed against her bright high heels.
The shoes, worth 100,000 yuan, were suddenly covered in stains.
Mingmei was so angry she lost her temper and took off her sunglasses. Her eyebrows furrowed, her almond eyes widened, and she raised her hand to strike the cleaner.
The cleaner was stunned for a moment, then her anger surged, and she picked up a broom and retaliated against her.
"You..." Mingmei was no match for her and quickly dodged.
The cleaners stopped caring and started applying more and more pressure.
Mingmei staggered, twisted her ankle, and sat down on the ground.
Seeing this, the cleaner stood up with her broom upright and cursed through gritted teeth, "Are you still going to be so arrogant?"
Mingmei's chest heaved as she tried to stand up, but her sprained ankle throbbed with pain. "You... I will never let you get away with this..."
The cleaner, completely unconcerned, said, "I'll be waiting."
She clenched her fists tightly, her fingertips digging deep into her palms.
Someone secretly filmed this scene from a corner.
The man in black, who had been watching indifferently, stepped forward and pulled Mingmei up from the ground. "Let's go."
Mingmei shoved him aside and rushed into Rong Zhi's hospital room without hesitation.
"Second Master..."
Tears streamed down her face before she could speak.
Leaning against the headboard, Rong Zhi narrowed his eyes and curled a disdainful sneer at the corner of his mouth.
The man in black followed him in, looking nervous. "Second Master, I'm sorry. I'll take her away immediately."
Mingmei's heart clenched, and tears welled up in her eyes. Her pitiful appearance made her plead, "Second Master, please help me..."
"Hurry up." The man in black strode to her side, grabbed her arm, and made as if to lead her towards the door.
Mingmei cried out, "Let me go... Second Master..."
