Chapter 140 Her feelings for him slowly returned to what they were at the beginning.

"When the snipe and the clam fight, the fisherman profits. Ah."

Ning Xin'er turned around and went to her room.

Hearing the servant's words, Ning Wanzhen's face turned ashen, and she grabbed the teacup in front of her and threw it heavily at He Qiaoling.

"You've gone too far!"

He Qiaoling trembled uncontrollably, her wide eyes filled with fear and confusion. She swallowed hard and continued to argue, "Sister-in-law, my husband is truly innocent..."

Ning Wanzhen shouted angrily in a hoarse voice, "The evidence is overwhelming, what else do you have to say? Steward, take her away and await the head of the family's judgment."

Minglang subtly curled the corners of his lips.

The steward came over and pulled He Qiaoling up. "Let's go."

He Qiaoling's legs went weak, and he practically dragged her along the way. "Sister-in-law, Sang Yuwan is no good. You'll regret this..."

Ning Wanzhen's heart skipped a beat, and a sense of panic inexplicably arose.

Minglang lowered his head, his attitude quite respectful. "Madam, Madam asked me to tell you that when mother and daughter are of one mind, their strength can break even metal."

Ning Wanzhen was deeply shocked, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Minglang turned and walked out.

Ning Wanzhen sat alone for a long time, unable to calm her emotions.

-

Dr. Jiang arranged a VIP ward for Sang Yuwan, and two bodyguards arranged by Mingyu guarded the door. Apart from Xiansi and Minglang, no one else could enter.

After leaving the Bo family's old house, Minglang went to Qinghe Garden to pick up Aunt Qiu.

Sang Yuwan was in the hospital for pregnancy preservation and couldn't go anywhere, so she simply brought Aunt Qiu over to arrange three meals a day.

As Minglang was leading Aunt Qiu into the ward, an anxious male voice came from behind them.

“Alang”.

Minglang immediately turned around, "Second Young Master?"

He didn't tell anyone about Sang Yuwan's hospitalization, and he didn't know how Mingzhan found out.

Ming Zhan hurried over, a look of worry on his handsome features. "How is the situation?"

Minglang pursed his lips slightly. "It's hard to say."

Mingzhan grew increasingly worried. "Tell me quickly, what exactly is Wan'er's condition now?"

Minglang lowered his head. "Second Young Master will know once he goes inside."

Ming Zhan was immediately alarmed. He took a deep breath and pushed open the door to go inside.

Minglang and Aunt Qiu waited outside.

Sang Yuwan was looking through documents when she heard the door open. Without looking up, she said, "Alang, get me a glass of water."

Mingzhan paused for a moment, then walked quickly to the water dispenser and poured himself a glass of warm water. He then went to the bedside and handed the glass to him.

"Be careful, it's hot."

Her voice was clear and gentle, both indulgent and tender.

Sang Yuwan's breath hitched, and she suddenly looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes. "Second Brother, it's you."

Mingzhan placed the water glass on the small table on the hospital bed, and smiled slightly. "I heard you were hospitalized, and I was very worried."

"Minglang really has a sharp tongue." Sang Yuwan frowned.

Mingzhan pulled out a chair in front of the hospital bed and slowly sat down. "He didn't say anything."

Sang Yuwan was taken aback.

Ming Zhan explained gently, "Rong Zhi called me half an hour ago."

Sang Yuwan's heart sank slightly, and a complex expression appeared in her eyes.

Mingzhan felt very sorry for her, seeing that she was still working even while hospitalized. "Do these things really need to be dealt with now?"

Sang Yuwan picked up her water glass, took a couple of sips, and said, "Some cases can't be delayed."

Mingzhan felt as if a huge rock was pressing on his heart, making it difficult to breathe. A faint redness appeared at the corners of his eyes.

“Play around, the Bo family isn’t just about you.”

Sang Yuwan smiled and replied, "Second Brother, what can I do? I'm the person in charge of the group."

Ming Zhan's eyes flickered, and a wave of heartache washed over him. After a few seconds of silence, he spoke again, "Wan'er, if you hadn't left the Ming family back then, would everything have been different?"

Sang Yuwan's eyelids twitched, the water in her glass swayed gently, and a faint dampness rose in her heart.

"Second brother, there are no 'what ifs' in life."

Ming Zhan's heart clenched, as if long, thin silver needles were piercing his heart.

Sang Yuwan was right; there are no "what ifs" in life.

"Second brother, are you fully recovered?"

Ming Zhan composed himself, his eyes filled with tenderness. "I'm fine now. But what about you?"

Sang Yuwan raised her eyebrows slightly and smiled faintly, "I'm perfectly fine."

Mingzhan thought she was just trying to comfort him, and his mood became even heavier. "Wan'er, don't hide it from me, tell me the truth."

Sang Yuwan's smile deepened. "I'm really fine."

Mingzhan looked worried. "If you're really alright, Aunt Jiang won't let you be hospitalized."

Sang Yuwan placed the water glass on the bedside table and asked him, "Didn't Rong Zhi tell you?"

Mingzhan's breath hitched, a deep crease forming between his brows. His voice grew even more urgent, "He just said you were hospitalized, nothing else. Wan'er, is it the baby...?"

"The child is fine." Sang Yuwan glanced at the documents on the small table. "If something really happened to me, would Aunt Jiang let me work in the hospital?"

Ming Zhan knew about the relationship between Jiang Wu and Sang Yuwan. Upon hearing this, he frowned, an incredulous look on his face. "Could it be that you're faking illness on purpose?"

Sang Yuwan curled her lips slightly but remained silent.

Ming Zhan asked suspiciously, "Why are you faking illness when you're perfectly fine?"

He paused, his eyes widening. "Wan'er, did something happen to you?"

Seeing his worried expression, Sang Yuwan quickly explained, "Second brother, I just wanted to teach Ning Wanzhen a lesson."

Mingzhan was taken aback. "Teach her a lesson? Shouldn't she be the one in the hospital?"

Sang Yuwan's brows relaxed, and she smiled at him.

Before the battle, Ming was an athlete who spent all his time in the pool. He had little experience with the intricacies of large families. Therefore, he didn't immediately understand Sang Yuwan's actions.

"Wan'er, am I very stupid?"

Sang Yuwan immediately replied, "Second brother, you are not allowed to talk about yourself like that."

Ming Zhan curled his lips slightly, "I wish I were as capable as my older brother."

Sang Yuwan's heartstrings trembled. She squeezed his hand and looked at him with clear eyes. "Second brother, in my heart, you have always been the most amazing person."

Mingzhan's heart pounded, his nose stung, and his eyes instantly welled up with tears.

He took a deep breath and placed his other hand on the back of Sang Yuwan's hand.

The lake of Sangyu Wanxin rippled slightly, but quickly returned to calm.

Ming Zhan was different. The moment her palm touched the back of his hand, his heart started racing and his heart rate became erratic.

He knew perfectly well why he was like this.

He still had expectations of her.

Unbeknownst to him, his mindset had quietly changed after experiencing so many hardships in his later years.

Her feelings for him slowly returned to what they were at the beginning.

"Wanwan, this is your second brother, Mingzhan."

That day, Lan Xiya took her back to the Ming family and introduced her to each member of the Ming family.

Knock knock.

"lady."

The sound of stringed thoughts came from the doorway.

Sang Yuwan quickly pulled her hand away from Ming Zhan's palm. "Come in."

Mingzhan curled his fingers and adjusted his breathing.

Xian Si entered carrying a file folder. Upon seeing Ming Zhan by the hospital bed, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. "Madam, shall I come in later?"

Sang Yuwan said, "No need. Go ahead, what is it?"

Strings hesitated.

Seeing this, Mingzhan immediately stood up. "Wan'er, it's getting late, I should go back."

Sang Yu nodded in agreement.

Mingzhan added, "Whether you're really sick or faking it, don't overexert yourself. Nothing is more important than your health."

Sang Yuwan smiled faintly, "Second brother, don't worry about me. You should take good care of yourself too."

Mingzhan longed to pat the back of her head, just like he did when they were little. But he didn't reach out.

After he left, Xian Si quickly walked to the bedside, handed the file bag in her hand to Sang Yuwan, and lowered her voice, "Madam, the Second Master has gone to the capital."

Sang Yuwan frowned. "I know."

Xian Si looked anxious. "Madam, Rong Sheng passed away a few hours ago."
