Sang Yuwan remained unmoved and ignored him.
Mingxiao looked up, his eyes slightly upturned, and smiled as he replied, "Wanwan, do you have a problem with that?"
Before Sang Yuwan could speak, Rong Zhi stepped in and sat down opposite her.
Seeing his rudeness, Mingxiao frowned slightly. "Who are you?"
“He is Rong Zhi. Xingzhi’s younger brother.” Sang Yuwan’s face was devoid of any smile, and her tone was somewhat cold.
Mingxiao was taken aback. "So it's the second master of the Bo family."
She turned her head to look at the man beside her and smiled, "I am Wanwan's older brother. Second Master, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Rong Zhi smiled and nodded. "Big brother. Okay."
Mingxiao was taken aback again.
Bo Xingzhi was his rightful brother-in-law, but she had never called him that.
Rong Zhi's address of "elder brother" made him vaguely realize something was amiss.
Just as he was about to speak, Sang Yuwan gently scolded Rong Zhi, "Don't try to claim kinship with others."
Rong Zhi's expression remained calm, his narrow eyes displaying a half-smile. "If Madam feels that calling me 'elder brother' is inappropriate, then teach me how I should address you?"
"Rong Zhi." Sang Yuwan's face darkened as she gritted her teeth and called out his name, her anger evident.
Seeing that she was angry, Mingxiao quickly and gently persuaded her, "Wanwan, don't be angry, Second Master is just joking with you."
Rong Zhi snorted coldly, "I'm not joking."
Mingxiao's heart skipped a beat, and a bold guess suddenly popped into his head.
He looked at Rong Zhi, suppressing his panic, and smiled, "Second Master, Master Bo used to call me by my name. Why don't you call me Ming Xiao, just like him?"
Sang Yuwan's jaw tightened, her eyes and brows furrowed with anger. "Big brother, ignore him. Let's eat."
This man, after only having a few intimate encounters with her, became increasingly unscrupulous.
Now, I don't know what's gotten into her, she's fixated on a particular title.
Moreover, the way he looked at Mingxiao was clearly full of hostility.
Sang Yuwan lost both her parents at a young age, and the Ming family took her in. She will never forget this kindness.
Besides being bright and cheerful.
She naturally couldn't stand by and watch Rong Zhi target Ming Xiao.
Mingxiao looked around, a hint of worry forming in his eyes.
Although Sang Yuwan is not his biological sister, and their relationship is not as close as hers with Mingzhan, he has always regarded her as his family.
After Bo Xingzhi's death, Sang Yuwan is surrounded by wolves and tigers. Her situation is worrying.
This situation now worries him even more.
If his guess is true, it will bring Sang Yuwan a catastrophe.
Suppressing his anxiety, Mingxiao said to Rong Zhi, "Second Master, let's eat."
Rong Zhi's expression was somewhat unreadable; he smiled, yet it seemed as if he didn't.
Seeing this, Mingxiao said no more. He looked away, continued peeling shrimp, and then placed them on Sang Yuwan's plate.
The movements were very natural.
Rong Zhi's face turned pale, and his gaze towards Ming Xiao turned cold. "Doesn't she have hands?"
Mingxiao's fingers stiffened, his heart sank, and his smile faded slightly. "Second Master, you may not know this, but Wanwan has always disliked peeling shrimp since she was little. If no one peels them for her, she would rather not eat them at all."
Rong Zhi scoffed, "Affectation."
Sang Yuwan angrily put down her chopsticks and shouted at him, "Get out!"
Those involved are often confused, while bystanders see things clearly.
Mingxiao saw through everything, and his heart grew increasingly panicked, "Wanwan..."
"Big brother."
A surprised voice rang out at the door of the private room, breaking the tense atmosphere.
Mingxiao looked up and saw Mingyi carrying a tray. He asked in surprise, "Yiyi, what's this?"
Mingyi walked in with a smile, "Today is my first day working at Bo's."
Mingxiao nodded and replied gently, "Work hard for Wanwan from now on, and don't embarrass her."
Ming subconsciously looked at Rong Zhi, "I am now Second Master's assistant."
A flicker of surprise crossed Mingxiao's eyes, and his unease deepened. He removed his disposable gloves and wiped his hands with a wet wipe. His expression revealed his deep affection for his younger siblings.
"No matter who you work for, you have to do your job well."
Mingyi pursed his lips. "Yes, Big Brother."
The round dining table was occupied by people sitting on three sides.
Mingyi could only sit between Sang Yuwan and Rong Zhi.
As soon as he sat down, he noticed that the atmosphere was a bit off; the air was thick with tension and a hint of murderous intent.
Mingyi took two deep breaths, steeled himself, picked up his chopsticks, and slowly began to eat.
The air suddenly became quiet.
Sang Yuwan already had a poor appetite, and Rong Zhi's sarcastic remarks made her even less inclined to eat.
As if in a huff, she finished all the shrimp. After taking a couple of sips of soup, she put down her chopsticks.
"Wanwan, is that all you're eating?" Mingxiao couldn't help but frown.
"Big brother, I'm full." Sang Yuwan curled her lips slightly.
Mingxiao asked with concern, "Is it like this all the time?"
Rong Zhi suddenly snapped at Ming Yi, "How's the matter I asked you to handle this morning going?"
Ming paused, hurriedly swallowed the food in his mouth, felt a lump in his throat, and his eyes widened involuntarily. "The investigation and evidence collection are still ongoing."
Rong Zhi's gaze could freeze a person to death. "A whole morning has passed, and you're still gathering evidence? I think you don't care about your second brother's reputation at all."
Mingyi was dumbfounded and didn't know how to answer.
He couldn't help but feel a little regretful. He shouldn't have agreed to let his mother work at the Bo family business, and he shouldn't have agreed to let Sang Yuwan be his undercover agent.
Rong Zhi is a man of deep cunning and unpredictable temperament.
If this continues, he'll be severely injured, if not killed.
"Rong Zhi!" Sang Yuwan suppressed her anger, her tone chilling, "Get out of here."
Mingyi's heart was pounding like a drum, and he turned pale with fright.
On my first day at work, I witnessed the two bosses arguing; you can imagine what the rest of the day would be like.
Mingyi wished he could escape from here immediately.
He looked at Mingxiao across from him, his eyes asking if the two of them were going to leave.
Ming Xiao's gentle and refined face was filled with shock. "Ming Yi, what happened to your second brother?"
"Mingyi, you get out too," Sang Yuwan said angrily.
"Yes, Chairman." As if he had received a pardon, Mingyi immediately got up, picked up his tray, and fled as if he were escaping.
Seeing this, Ming Xiao's expression darkened. He turned to look at Sang Yuwan and asked, "What's wrong with Ming Zhan?"
Sang Yuwan's chest rose and fell slightly as she calmed down. "It's nothing."
Mingxiao turned to Rongzhi and asked, "Second Master, what's wrong with my Mingzhan?"
Rong Zhi looked at the pretty face opposite him, which was covered with anger, and felt as if his heart had been pricked by a needle.
It hurts and feels numb.
In her mind, Mingzhan was almost perfect.
But he, like Bo Xingzhi, was despicable and shameless.
Rong Zhi gave a cold smile and said indifferently, "The patriarch forbids me to say, so I have nothing to say."
Upon hearing this, Mingxiao's heart raced, and his face paled even more. "Wanwan..."
The matter concerning Ming Zhan and Bo Xinglan has not yet been fully investigated. Sang Yuwan did not want to say more.
She slowly stood up, gripping both sides of the plate. "Brother, I'm sorry. I have something to do, so I'll go upstairs first. I'll treat you another day."
Mingxiao panicked, "Wanwan..."
Sang Yuwan resolutely left.
Mingxiao's temples throbbed, and his chest ached with a dull ache.
Rong Zhi glanced at him sideways, his thin lips parted slightly, "She didn't tell you because it's for your own good."
Mingxiao clutched his chest, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead, his lips paling slightly. "Second Master, do you like Wanwan?"
