Sang Yuwan glanced over, but couldn't utter a sound for a moment.
Xian Si pursed her lips, awaiting the verdict.
She knew that Sang Yuwan was the one who betrayed her the most.
She also knew that once her identity was revealed, her situation would be extremely awkward.
The air in the ward suddenly became quiet.
The afternoon sun slanted in through a corner of the open window.
A hazy yellow tinge settled on Xuan Si's body.
Sang Yuwan looked at her, her voice suddenly turning cold and sharp, "Xiansi, you don't need to make up such a lie."
A sudden thought struck Xian Si.
Sang Yuwan's pretty face flushed with anger, and her voice grew increasingly cold, "Second Master has never seen me before, how could he possibly harbor feelings for me?"
“Madam, you…” Xiansi said hurriedly.
Before she could finish speaking, Sang Yuwan interrupted her without hesitation.
"Xiansi, I'll give you three days. Think it over carefully and decide whether to stay or leave."
Xuan Si's nose stung, and her eyes reddened slightly. "I choose..."
Sang Yuwan interrupted again, "Don't rush into a decision. Go back and think it over carefully."
Xian Si's face paled, and she pursed her lips, "Yes..."
Thud—
The ward door closed gently again.
Sang Yuwan's tense emotions suddenly relaxed.
The words "Second Master has always loved Madam" echoed in my ears once again.
Sang Yuwan's heart was racing, and her breathing was heavy and labored.
a long time.
She tugged at the corners of her lips and smiled.
Rong Zhi loves her.
This was probably the most outrageous joke she had ever heard.
She hadn't even met Rong Zhi three years ago.
Could it be...?
As Sang Yuwan's thoughts were in turmoil, her phone suddenly vibrated.
Upon picking it up, he discovered it was Rong Zhi.
Sang Yuwan assumed that Xiansi had tipped him off.
She took a deep breath, pressed the answer button, and turned on speakerphone.
How are you feeling?
The deep male voice conveyed concern.
A mocking smile appeared on Sang Yuwan's lips as she coldly replied, "Thank you for your concern, Second Master, I'm fine."
Rong Zhi sensed something was off about her tone, paused for a moment, and joked, "Looks like the PR draft didn't get approved?"
Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened. "If Second Master wasn't unwilling to work at the Bo family, he could just leave."
"Do you think I'm being perfunctory in my work?" Rong Zhi asked calmly.
Sang Yuwan's tone was cold and sharp, "I'm worried that Second Master's perfunctory attitude will affect the people around me."
Rong Zhi on the other end of the phone felt a jolt in his heart, vaguely guessing what was going on, but his tone remained calm and unhurried, "I'm not just being perfunctory, but I think this reason is acceptable."
Sang Yuwan remained silent for a few minutes, then suddenly asked abruptly, "Second Master, how long have you known me?"
Rong Zhi paused for a few seconds, then replied, "That night was our first time..."
Sang Yuwan sneered, "So, that night, you fell in love with me at first sight?"
Rong Zhi's mind went blank, and his breathing became noticeably heavier. After a moment of silence, he spoke jokingly, "If I said yes, would you believe me?"
Sang Yuwan felt a sharp, inexplicable pain in her chest, and her eyes turned bloodshot. "What do you think?"
Rong Zhi slowly spoke, "What I say isn't important. What's important is that you ask your own heart. Sang Yuwan, if I fell in love with you at first sight, what about you?"
Sang Yuwan's heart pounded, her pretty face flushed red, and two angry flashes appeared in her starry eyes. She gritted her teeth and scolded, "My feelings for you are like those for Bo Xingzhi."
After saying that, she hung up the phone.
After sitting stiffly on the hospital bed for a while, she called Minglang in.
"Get ready, we're going to Bright Moon Village."
A hint of surprise flashed in Minglang's eyes. "Madam, are you going to see Bo Qingmei?"
Sang Yuwan pursed her lips, remaining noncommittal.
Minglang said worriedly, "Madam, you should rest well today and go tomorrow."
Sang Yuwan threw back the covers, got out of bed, and headed towards the bathroom. "Get out."
Seeing this, Minglang dared not say anything more.
Sang Yuwan quickly changed her clothes, put on a mask, and left the ward.
An hour later, the black Bentley pulled up outside the courtyard.
Minglang got out of the car first and gently knocked on the door.
After waiting for more than ten minutes, no one came to open the door.
Minglang hurriedly walked to Sang Yuwan's side, "Madam, it seems no one is here."
Sang Yuwan frowned. "Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on things?"
Minglang also found it strange, "I didn't notice them leaving? They're probably scared and don't dare to open the door."
Sang Yuwan thought for a moment, then said coldly, "Try again."
Minglang nodded.
*Sizzle*
Just as he was about to knock on the door again, Bo Xingzhi's black Rolls-Royce Phantom sped toward them.
Minglang instinctively stood in front of Sang Yuwan.
He recognized the license plate and was startled. "Madam, it's Second Master."
Sang Yuwan's lips were taut, her pretty face filled with deep anger.
The Rolls-Royce stopped next to the Bentley, and the rear door suddenly opened from the inside, revealing a tall figure.
It really was Rong Zhi.
Minglang tensed up and lowered his head. "Second Master."
Rong Zhi's gaze swept over him and landed on the woman behind him. He smiled slightly and said, "Minglang, you're really bold. Madam just woke up, and you dare to bring her out."
Minglang lowered his head even further, "I..."
Sang Yuwan grabbed his arm and pulled him aside.
She faced Rong Zhi directly, raised her eyes, and said with a frosty look in them, "Second Master, you've overstepped your bounds. What right do you have to lecture my man? Or are you saying he's actually your subordinate?"
Minglang was taken aback, then suddenly looked up, "Madam?"
Rong Zhi's heart tightened, realizing that she must have known Xian Si's true identity.
His eyelids were slightly lowered, and his tone was calm, "You shouldn't doubt him, no matter who you suspect."
Sang Yuwan felt as if a thorn had been pierced in her heart, and every breath she took was painful. "Since he is not your subordinate, you have no right to say anything to him."
Rong Zhi's gaze darkened slightly. "I'm just worried about you."
Sang Yuwan said sarcastically, "Second Master, you'd better not say such things in the future."
Rong Zhi took a deep breath and changed the subject, "Bo Qingmei isn't here."
Minglang was taken aback. "Impossible."
Sang Yuwan was also somewhat incredulous.
Rong Zhi looked away, gazing at the apricot tree branches that had sprung over the courtyard wall, and said in a low voice, "Bo Qingmei attempted suicide last night and has been taken to the hospital."
Minglang was utterly astonished.
His men kept an eye on the courtyard, but they didn't see anyone come out at all.
Unless, they have been bribed by Rong Zhi.
“Madam…” Minglang said nervously.
Sang Yuwan gave a subtle, almost imperceptible smile, opened the car door, and got in without a word.
Seeing this, Minglang walked around the front of the car and headed towards the driver's seat.
The rear door slammed shut.
Rong Zhi was one step ahead of Ming Lang.
Sang Yuwan's brow twitched sharply, and she said angrily, "Get out."
Minglang, who had just sat in the driver's seat, froze.
Just as he was at a loss, Sang Yuwan said again, "Rong Zhi, don't test my patience."
Minglang unconsciously tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
The next second.
The partition inside the car was raised.
Rong Zhi grasped Sang Yuwan's cool hand.
