Chapter 16 A Man Was Hidden in Wanwan's Room

The people outside the door were still arguing.

"Wanwan...Wanwan...Open the door quickly."

"Mrs. Ming, the lady is really asleep."

Rong Zhi's gaze darkened, and a glint of light flashed in his eyes.

Seeing that he still hadn't moved, Sang Yuwan hurriedly went over, nudged him, and whispered a warning.

"Go inside and stay put. Don't come out unless I call you."

His back was broad and strong. When she pushed him, his muscles tensed.

Sang Yuwan was extremely anxious, wishing she could dig a hole in the ground, stomp him into it, and then fill the hole with cement.

Rong Zhi, however, was not in a hurry at all. He curled his lips and said slowly, "Am I someone who can't be seen by others?"

Sang Yuwan glared at him fiercely, "What do you think?"

"Wanwan...Wanwan...Open the door quickly."

"Mrs. Ming, please don't do this."

"You guys are so careless. You've been calling for so long and no one has opened the door. Something must have happened to Wanwan."

"Mrs. Ming, the lady is just too tired and has fallen asleep."

"Even if you're asleep, you should wake up by now."

"Mrs. Ming, this is the Bo family home..."

"What's wrong with you today, child? Did you hide a man in your room last night?"

Sang Yuwan was terrified when she heard this, and her temples throbbed.

She glared at Rong Zhi hatefully, gritting her teeth as she said, "Go inside!"

Rong Zhi stood with his hands at his sides, his expression serene and indifferent.

His feet seemed to be rooted to the spot.

The conversation at the door continued to drift in.

"Mrs. Ming, how could you think like that? Don't you know what kind of person Madam is?"

"Xiansi, there's something wrong with you being so hesitant. Minglang, come here and kick the door open."

"Madam, you could kill me and I wouldn't dare."

"You...you guys...Wanwan..."

Ring ring—

Sang Yuwan's phone, which was on the coffee table, suddenly rang.

Rong Zhi glanced at it, his expression calm and unhurried.

Sang Yuwan's emotions teetered on the edge of rage, and even her breathing became somewhat labored. "Whatever you want, I'll grant it to you."

"Okay." Rong Zhi glanced at her pretty face, which was flushed with anger, and raised an eyebrow.

Sang Yuwan was so angry that she felt dizzy. She rubbed her forehead and said, "Remember what I said. Don't come out unless I tell you to."

"Hmm." Rong Zhi sighed softly and strode towards the restroom.

Click—

The sound of the bathroom door closing crisply came from inside.

Sang Yuwan then bent down to pick up her phone and lay back down on the sofa.

I took two deep breaths to calm myself down and pressed the answer button.

"Auntie..."

"Wanwan, open the door quickly."

Sang Yuwan coughed lightly, pretending to have just been woken up, her voice slightly hoarse, "Auntie, where are you now?"

"I'm at your door."

Sang Yuwan's palms were slightly damp as she glanced towards the restroom. "Is Xiansi with you?"

"She and Minglang were both there. I don't know what happened, but they just wouldn't open the door for me."

Sang Yuwan's heart sank. Suppressing the turmoil in her heart, she said in a low voice, "Come in."

"Okay," the other person exclaimed in surprise.

Sang Yuwan hung up the phone and slowly sat up. She ran her fingers through her hair, looking as if she had just woken up.

Thud—

The door to the room opened, followed by hurried and chaotic footsteps.

A middle-aged woman wearing a camel-colored coat walked in quickly, carrying two gift boxes in her hands.

Seeing Sang Yuwan sitting on the sofa, her eyes suddenly reddened. "Wanwan, are you alright?"

"Whether I'm good or not, you've seen it all."

Sang Yuwan's eyelashes trembled slightly as her turbulent emotions gradually calmed down.

If it were anyone else making such a racket at the door, she would have already given Minglang a good lesson.

This is the only one she cannot bring herself to harm.

Because he was the only elder in the world to whom she still shared blood ties.

She is her mother's younger sister.

Her aunt, Lan Xiya.

The second wife of Ming Yu, the head of the Ming family.

Back then, her parents passed away unexpectedly. If it weren't for her aunt's plea to the Ming family to take her in, she would have had to go to an orphanage.

No matter what happens later, this blood relation and the debt of gratitude for being raised can never be severed.

"Auntie, what brings you here?" Sang Yuwan leaned back and adjusted her posture.

"I was just worried about you. As soon as Master Bo had his accident, I wanted to come and see you. I resisted the urge to come because you wouldn't let the Ming family attend the funeral."

Lan Xiya put down the gift box, sat down next to Sang Yuwan, held her hands, and said with some heartache, "Wanwan, why do you look so pale? Should we call a doctor to come and take a look?"

Sang Yuwan subtly removed her hand, a hint of aloofness in her eyes. "I wanted to get a good night's sleep, but you woke me up. How can you look well?"

Lan Xiya laughed awkwardly and said, "I should have called you beforehand."

Sang Yuwan clenched her right fist and gently pounded her throbbing forehead.

A hint of heartache flashed in Lan Xiya's eyes. "Wanwan, would you like me to massage you?"

Sang Yuwan coldly refused, "No need."

Xiansi, who followed in, wrung his hands and looked around.

Sang Yuwan glanced at her out of the corner of her eye. "Go, pour Mrs. Ming a glass of water."

"Yes." Xian Si replied, noticing the bowl of fruit porridge that had been spilled on the ground, and her heart suddenly tightened.

Lan Xiya's eyes flickered, and she saw it too. She paused, stunned. "What's going on?"

Sang Yuwan's heart skipped a beat, a strange sense of guilt washing over her. She clutched the blanket tightly, glancing at her phone on the coffee table.

"I was in a hurry to answer your call and accidentally knocked it over."

Then, she looked up and scolded Xian Si, "Don't bring things up here unless I call you next time."

Xiansi lowered his head to meet her gaze, his eyes flickering.

"Madam, I noticed you had a hypoglycemic episode and wanted to give you something to eat to fill your stomach. I didn't expect that you would fall asleep when I brought it up."

"Still not cleaning it up?"

Sang Yuwan raised an eyebrow, a strange light flashing across her eyes, then vanished in an instant.

"Madam, I'll handle it immediately." Xian Si understood and quickly turned and left.

Looking at the wet carpet, Lan Xiya said apologetically, "It's all my fault for disturbing you. Are your hands hurt?"

"It's nothing." Sang Yuwan's face remained calm, but her heart was in turmoil.

There was also a man "hiding" in the restroom.

Moreover, this man was also her nominal "brother-in-law".

If people find out, they'll be drowning in their spittle.

If Lan Xiya were to witness this scene, she would surely treat her without the slightest dignity, just as she did six years ago.

"It's good that you're alright..." Lan Xiya smiled.

Sang Yuwan paused, her tone clearly displeased. "Auntie, you've seen the person, you can rest assured now, go back."

Lan Xiya was somewhat disappointed. "Wanwan, I know you still hate me, but back then I..."

"I've forgotten about things that happened so long ago. Auntie, I'm a little tired and want to get some sleep."

Sang Yuwan turned her head to the side, and there were obvious red blood vessels in her eyes.

Lan Xiya's heart clenched painfully. "Wanwan, seeing you so tired really breaks my heart. With Mr. Bo gone, the burden on your shoulders is even heavier..."

As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.

Sang Yuwan frowned, her eyes darkening.

Lan Xiya's words had a hidden meaning, and she was well aware of it.

No matter how angry or annoyed he was, he couldn't force her to leave.

But who knows how long that man in the restroom can stay there quietly?

If you can't stand it, just push the door open and come out.

Sang Yuwan couldn't even imagine what kind of cataclysmic destruction it would have caused.
