Chapter 271 Recognizing Ancestors and Returning to One's Origin

Sang Yuwan had to interrupt her conversation with Mingyu, take out her phone, and glance at it.

The caller's country of origin is M.

Sang Yuwan has marked the contact information of overseas executives.

She vaguely guessed who it was, her eyes narrowed, and she pursed her lips at Ming Yu, "Uncle Ming, I'm going to answer a call."

Mingyu nodded silently.

Sang Yuwan took her phone and walked out of the room, then pressed the answer button.

"explain."

A cold, commanding voice.

"Mrs. Bo, Miss Sang, Sister..." The other person paused, then chuckled softly, "How should I address you?"

A thin layer of anger shrouded Sang Yuwan's face, like a sudden dark cloud in spring, obscuring her usual gentleness and brightness.

She curled her lips into a sneer, "Shen Yilin, you really can't hold your temper."

Shen Yilin chuckled on the other end of the phone and slowly said, "As expected of someone from the Shen family, you're even more ruthless than me. Mingzhan was your first love, after all. He's been missing for so long, and you're completely unmoved."

Sang Yuwan's brows were deeply furrowed, resembling a steep hill. Her eyes, filled with anger, appeared even colder and sharper.

She gripped her phone tightly, a dangerous glint in her eyes. "Shen Yilin, those in positions of power don't need to do everything themselves. Didn't Old Master Shen teach you such a simple principle?"

"Those in power? Hahaha..." Shen Yilin laughed sinisterly.

Sang Yuwan's finger bones were white, her lips were taut, and her pretty face was covered with a layer of frost.

Shen Yilin continued, "Sang Yuwan, you're an illegitimate daughter, how dare you call yourself someone in a superior position?"

“Shen Yilin, my parents are a legally married couple, they’re officially married.” Sang Yuwan’s lips curled into a sneer. She paused, then added, “On the contrary, you’re nothing but a product of alcohol and drugs.”

These words are sharper than a blade.

It ruthlessly pierced Shen Yilin's heart.

Sang Yuwan has decided that she will no longer give Shen Yilin any chance.

She knew where Shen Yilin's biggest pain point lay.

Alcohol, drugs, byproducts...

Shen Yilin's emotions ignited instantly, mixed with the harshness and sharpness of hail, each word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying an undeniable ruthlessness.

“Sang Yuwan, do you believe me or not, I’ll kill Mingzhan right now.”

Sang Yuwan gave a cold laugh, "You mean, Ming Zhan is with you now?"

Shen Yilin paused for half a second, his voice growing sharper, like an invisible blade cutting through the air with chilling cracks, "Sang Yuwan, bullets don't have eyes."

Sang Yuwan took two steps to the window, looked at the night sky, and gave a slight twitch at the corner of her mouth.

"Shen Yilin, surrender."

Shen Yilin sneered, "After all, it's your first love. I knew you wouldn't let go. I'll call you again in an hour. Come alone. Remember, don't try anything funny. Otherwise..."

"Shen Yilin, can't you understand human language?" Sang Yuwan's anger was burning fiercely, but her face remained calm and expressionless.

Shen Yilin flew into a rage again, his voice harsh, "Sang Yuwan, I've given you too much face!"

Sang Yuwan gripped the window frame with one hand, her knuckles slowly turning white. She frowned slightly and said calmly, "Shen Yilin, you've already lost by making this call to me."

"Such arrogance." Shen Yilin gritted his teeth. "We're here to negotiate, and you..."

Sang Yuwan interrupted him coldly, "Does the phone's automatic location system need an explanation?"

Shen Yilin fell silent instantly.

Sang Yuwan suppressed her surging emotions and continued, "Shen Yilin, you only have the Shen family behind you. But I have the Bo family, the Ming family, and Rong Zhi's Rong family."

Shen Yilin swallowed hard, a low, hoarse "uh" sound escaping his throat, as if he had just woken from a long dream. "Rong Zhi, didn't he go back to the capital?"

Sang Yuwan's lips curled slightly, but there was no warmth in them. "I just broke up with him, how come he's in the capital?"

Shen Yilin's breathing became heavier. After a half-second pause, he angrily uttered a curse.

Sang Yuwan curled her lips slightly, a disdainful smile playing on her lips. The smile was full of mockery and ridicule, as if she were silently laughing at the other party. "Young Master Chen, I advise you not to resist later. You know Rong Zhi's methods."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yilin's emotions were completely ignited, and he let out a deafening howl like a trapped beast.

"Sang Yuwan, you just wait. I will not rest until I kill you."

"Heh..." She smiled slightly, but the smile only stayed on her lips and did not reach her eyes. Her eyes flashed with ruthlessness and coldness, giving people an invisible sense of pressure.

"Okay. I'll wait."

After saying that, she hung up the phone.

She stood there for a few minutes, waiting until her emotions calmed down, before returning to Mingyu's room.

The doctor happened to arrive as well.

He quickly put Mingyu on an IV drip.

After he finished dealing with it, Sang Yuwan said in a low voice, "Please wait outside for now. I'll come in after I leave."

"Yes, Madam Bo." The doctor replied respectfully and then left.

Sang Yuwan sat down on the chair in front of the bed and smiled at Ming Yu. "Uncle Ming, don't worry, Second Brother will be home soon."

"Hmm." Mingyu's voice sounded lifeless and weak.

Looking at him, Sang Yuwan felt a surge of bittersweetness well up in her heart, and her eyes felt faintly hot.

She came to the Ming family when she was six years old. Although Ming Yu was strict with her, he never blamed her.

If it weren't for Mingmei, she might have stayed in the Ming family forever.

Now, Mingyu is like a candle flickering in the wind, almost out of oil.

Sang Yuwan's heart felt as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, a bitter ache that suffocated her. The feeling was like watching a large tree slowly fall in a storm, powerless to stop it, only able to silently endure it.

"Wanwan, have you ever thought about acknowledging your ancestors and returning to your family?" Mingyu's voice trembled almost imperceptibly. This was not just a fluctuation of emotion, but more like a natural reaction under the limit of physical strength. Every syllable seemed to be squeezed out with all his strength.

Sang Yuwan's expression froze, and she remained silent for several seconds before slowly speaking, "I never thought of that."

The father, Shen Chongzhou, has severed ties with the Shen family.

She has no connection whatsoever with the Shen family.

Ming Yu took two deep breaths, his eyelids trembling. "The Shen family, once so prosperous, has been ruined because of Old Master Shen's selfish desires..."

Sang Yuwan's heart clenched painfully. She pursed her lips, a faint smile appearing on her face.

"Uncle Ming, whatever the fate of the Shen family is, it has nothing to do with us."

Mingyu was breathing heavily, his voice sounding like sandpaper rubbing against his fragile vocal cords, low and carrying an indescribable pain and helplessness.

"Wanwan, what if your father wants you to return to the Shen family?"
