Is Chapter 207 really a coincidence?

Sang Yuwan was silent for a few seconds, suppressing her panic, and slowly asked, "When?"

Rong Zhi slightly raised his eyes, looking at the completely darkened night sky, his pupils contracting slightly, "When you were five years old. Jiangcheng Welfare Home."

Sang Yuwan's heart tightened, and her expression became even more incredulous.

She vaguely remembered that before her parents had the accident, they would go to the welfare home every month to provide free medical care for the children there.

Sometimes, her parents would bring her along.

When she was five, Rong Zhi was already eleven.

He has been adopted by Bo Yuanshan.

Rong Zhi didn't look at her, but he could sense her confusion. His brow furrowed slightly, and he explained, "The days your parents go to the welfare home for free medical consultations are also the days when the Bo family makes donations to the welfare home."

Sang Yuwan was startled; a sudden chill ran down her spine, even her breath felt cold. Her fingers slowly clenched, a daring thought forming in her mind. A chill instantly enveloped her.

Rong Zhi withdrew his gaze and silently looked at her.

Some truths, once revealed, lead to utter devastation.

He didn't want her to know so soon, but somehow, as if some divine force was guiding her to tear open the past.

Sang Yuwan's eyelashes trembled slightly, and a faint blush appeared at the corners of her eyes. "Is this a coincidence?"

Rong Zhi felt an invisible pressure, like a heavy stone pressing on his chest, making his breathing heavy and suffocating.

He frowned slightly. "Perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't."

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened, her voice suppressed, "Isn't that obvious?"

The dim, gentle light of the streetlights fell softly, bathing the two of them in a soft, hazy glow.

Unbeknownst to them, their elongated shadows had quietly intertwined.

The trees nearby cast dappled shadows under the lamplight, intertwining and overlapping with the shadows of the two people.

As light and shadow intertwined, their facial features became even more defined and three-dimensional, and their gazes held a subtle new meaning.

Sang Yuwan's heart skipped a beat, and she looked away. She ripped off the clothes she was wearing and threw them into Rong Zhi's arms. Then, she turned and walked into the villa.

Rong Zhi paused for half a second before taking a step to follow.

Just as they entered, Rong Zhi's phone rang.

He saw the caller ID and paused in his tracks.

Press the answer button.

"Master Rong, Rong Moyuan has started selling off the Rong family's assets. It seems he's preparing to flee."

Rong Zhi's gaze darkened, and he said in a cold voice, "Trying to run away? Not so easy."

"Don't worry, Mr. Rong, I will keep an eye on him." The other party's tone was firm.

Rong Zhi's eyes were dark and deep. "I want to take back every single penny of the Rong family's assets without spending a single cent."

The other party immediately responded, "Yes, Master Rong."

Rong Zhi hung up the phone and found that Sang Yuwan had already disappeared from his sight.

So he went to the kitchen and washed some fruit.

Two minutes later, the man in black came over and said respectfully, "Second Master, Madam is leaving."

Rong Zhi paused, then turned around. "Are all the doors locked?"

The man in black lowered his head. "As you instructed, both the front and back gates are locked."

Rong Zhi calmly finished washing the fruit, put the fruit basket away, and then walked unhurriedly toward the front gate.

Sang Yuwan waited for a few minutes, but the man in black did not come to reply. Her brows furrowed, and anger flashed in her eyes.

With a stiff face, she turned around and headed to find Rong Zhi.

The two met in the corridor in front of the hall.

"What do you mean?" Sang Yuwan raised her eyes, her anger growing stronger.

Rong Zhi's lips twitched slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I said I'd stay here to rest tonight."

Sang Yuwan's face darkened, a storm brewing. "Rong Zhi, don't go too far."

Rong Zhi lowered his eyelids slightly, his dark pupils reflecting her angry face. "I've already told you the reason."

Minglang walked over with a tense expression and cautiously said, "Madam, something has happened at Qinghe Garden."

Sang Yuwan frowned. "Minglang, you've been bribed by him too?!"

Minglang trembled and quickly lowered his head. "Madam, I didn't. There was a murder at Qinghe Garden this afternoon, and Second Master told me not to tell you."

Sang Yuwan's breath hitched, her delicate brows furrowing deeply. "A murder case?"

Minglang said with trepidation, "The owner of No. 7 Courtyard accidentally killed his wife."

Sang Yuwan was startled.

The residents of Qinghe Garden are all wealthy and influential.

The residents of No. 7 Courtyard are political figures.

Sang Yuwan had met them once or twice.

The couple seemed to get along quite well.

Unexpectedly...

Sang Yuwan's eyes turned slightly cold, and her expression became more serious. "Did the police seal off the entire neighborhood?"

“No, not at all.” Minglang frowned and said worriedly, “Madam, you are pregnant now, so it would be better to be more discreet.”

Rong Zhi chimed in, "He's right. For the sake of the child, it's best to be cautious."

Sang Yuwan originally didn't have many taboos, but after the two of them talked, she felt inexplicably flustered.

She subconsciously touched her lower abdomen.

The fetus is less than three months old, and the situation is not yet fully stable.

Rong Zhi handed the fruit basket to Minglang, and before Sang Yuwan could react, he picked her up and carried her inside.

Minglang followed closely behind.

At Nanshan Villa, usually only Rong Zhi and the man in black are present.

Now there are two more people.

The air didn't seem so cold and desolate anymore.

The man in black grabbed Minglang, who was trying to follow him upstairs, and lowered his voice, "Still want to come?"

Minglang gritted his teeth, broke free, and his pupils contracted slightly. "If you don't come, what will happen to this fruit basket?"

The man in black smirked. "Do you think Madam would still have the appetite for fruit at this hour?"

Minglang's chest heaved slightly, and a deep frown appeared between his brows. "Dr. Jiang instructed that Madam should eat more fruit."

The man in black shook his head. "This child is beyond redemption."

Minglang glared at him fiercely and turned away angrily.

The man in black shrugged, went to the bar, and made two cups of coffee.

-

Rong Zhi carried Sang Yuwan up to the second floor, his lowered eyes filled with tenderness and affection.

Sang Yuwan didn't look at him, but gritted her teeth and cursed him in a low voice, "Rong Zhi, if you feel lonely, you can always call Mingmei over."

Rong Zhi walked to the sofa and slowly sat down.

His hands did not loosen.

Sang Yuwan sat on his lap.

An extremely intimate and ambiguous posture.

Sang Yuwan's heart tightened, and her face flushed red. "Let go!"

Rong Zhi hugged her tighter, his tone unhurried, "Sang Yuwan, I don't feel lonely."

He addressed her by her name, causing Sang Yuwan's expression to pause slightly. Her eyes, dark as ink, held a faint, almost imperceptible flame.

Rong Zhi leaned slightly forward, his chin resting on her neck. His warm breath, like feathers, gently brushed against Sang Yuwan's skin. A flutter ran through her heart, a tingling, numbing sensation. Her ears instantly flushed red.

She struggled, "Rong Zhi, I'm pregnant, don't do anything rash."

Rong Zhi pressed half his face against hers, his tone flat, "I know."

Sang Yuwan frowned, her cold voice suppressing her anger, "If you know that, then let go now."

Rong Zhi remained silent for a few seconds, his eyes filled with deep affection, "Sang Yuwan, I will never let go in this lifetime."

Sang Yuwan was greatly shocked; her heart raced, feeling as if it would burst out of her chest.
